Review: I realy liked the first one and as heard that Natasha will play again, I was so happy. But then as I saw this movie I almost felt asleep, it was so boring. I'm ashamed that I bought this one!

Review: I shamefully admit that I liked the first movie, but this one is basically a filmed deal. Terrible dialogue and not much plot worth mentioning. The direction is good, and the special effects are interesting. Plenty of gore and sex for everyone. Next movie, please.

Summary: Eww, this is what i call a turn off....
Review: One day, I was alone with my friend in a hotel room. What other natural thing would two boys do alone other than order a movie? So we did, and our choice, Species II, was a very bad one. Species II is the story about an alien infiltration in human society. The aliens infect a human host and it is then up to the human to procreate as if litterally rebuilding the human race. In other words, this is sex that appeals to the geek. I might add that this is a very bad movie. I advies pregnant mothers not to see this film unless they want to know how a baby can graphically erupt from their stomachs. Even if you are the curious type and are only seeing this movie for the nudity, don't. No matter how horny you are, the director does a great job of flushing that feeling and your stomach as well with cold blooded gore in the movie. Avoid this movie even if you are a Natasha Henstridge fan. Being subjected to this film is not worth the pain at all.

Review: SPECIES 2 IS A RUN-OUT-OF-MILL MOVIE.IT HAS A WEAK STORYLINE AND AVERAGE DIRECTION.CAN WATCH THIS MOVIE FOR NATASHA.

Summary: "This is awful. Just awful."
Review: About halfway through the film I heard a character say those very appropriate words that comprise the title of this review. The writing/plotting in this putrid mess of a film is not only pathetic but incredibly predictable. It's hard to believe so many characters from the first film chose to be in this horrible sequel. However, some of the dialogue is so bad that it's funny: "Where did she learn to drive?" "Her favorite show is 'The Dukes of Hazard.'" But the plotting is garbage, as well. At one point a female scientist throws a fit when two males enter the lab when she knows that the presence of men will only upset the female alien in captivity that is under study. Not twenty minutes later in the film she has about five minutes of dialogue inside the same lab with four men and she doesn't seem to notice at all. Dear Director, "How about some continuity?!" There is some outrageous gore strewn, sometimes literally "strewn," throughout the picture, and there is plenty of gratuitous nudity. Some of the situations are so vile and disgusting that...well, they were entertaining on a gross-out level. There was another point in the film that had me chuckling, as well. There is a shot of an officer being escorted in a helicopter, and while he is spouting his bile-soaked dialogue he calmly files his nails inside the cockpit. I suppose he had to do something to relieve the boredom of chasing aliens. That same character has one of the best lines in the film: "This is not the 'X-files!'" I remember laughing, and I simply couldn't agree more. Unless gore and gratuitous nudity are what you live for, avoid this film at all costs.

Summary: The Perfect Mate?
Review: The original Species is a great science fiction action film, filled with lots of fun, compelling characters, and cool special effects. The sequel, while retaing some of the elements and a few familiar faces, doesn't quite measure up in the end.

Sil, the sex-crazed alien life form is now a clone named Eve (Natasha Henstridge). Eve is the acting subject of governmental experiments until a trio of astronauts returns from a trip to Mars and one starts acting strangely. Astronaut Patrick Ross (Justin Lazard), who also happens to be the son of a powerful Senator (James Cromwell) begins to act eerily similar to Sil in that sexual predator sort of way. This brings Press Lennox (Michael Madsen) and Dr Laura Baker (Marg Helgenberger) back to figure out what's going on.

Writer Chris Brancato seems to have a handle on the characters and backstory at first, but then, as we go further into the plot, things fall apart pretty fast thanks to a strong case of sequelitis. Dennis Feldman, who concieved the whole idea of Species, made sure to give us something fresh. Director Peter Medak, who helmed the scare-fest called The Changeling, puts everthing together for us in a nice package and all. It's just too bad that series vets, Madsen and Helgenberger, seemed to just sleepwalk through the film though.

The slim extras on the DVD are just ok. MGM provides a full-length audio commentary with Medak, that connects the dots, but it isn't an easy one to sit through. Next up are a few unrated outtakes. One can easily see why these scences were never used. Topped off by the theatrical trailer as well as MGM's usual eight-page booklet insert offering further material about the cast, crew, and production. There is probably more information here than we need to know about the sequel.

In the end Species II is a disappointment--Even with the beautiful Henstridge running aroud. Campy fun at best.

Summary: Derivative sequel
Review: This derivative sequel to 1995's surprisingly successful guilty pleasure Species, serves up loads of sex, blood, and gore; all of which can't save Species 2 from being anything less than the disappointing sequel it is. Michael Madsen and Marg Helgenberger return, along with Natasha Henstridge as Sil: a clone of the half alien/half human hyrbid she played in the first film. She goes into heat when an astronaut (Justin Lazard) returns from a mission to Mars infected with alien DNA, and he has an urge to mate. What results is him fathering a bevy of creepy kids (which are delivered by their mothers in a very bloody way) as the body count rises and he and Sil prepare to meet up. Species 2 is a pure schlock fest from beginning to end, but despite it's excellent makeup and FX, it doesn't achieve the same kind of guilty pleasure feeling that the first film did. All in all, it's worth seeing for some pointless but well pulled off gore and nudity, but other than that this one's a turkey.

Review: Species 1 was a good action thiller movie so I thought number 2 might be a good follow up.....boy was I wrong!!
Really no story, just gore and a little action. Save your time and money and just stick with number 1, pretend number 2 and even 3 never came out and you'll be happier!
After watching number 2 I sold mine!!
Number 3 I heard is not much better than 2.
They just should of left it alone with just Species 1.
