Review: Just received my DVD of "Lucas" and the other films and thought that Lucas looked much better on the DVD than on the internet. I especially liked "Swingblade" but how come no comments from those guys? Also, Film Club was good but I didn't get all the references. All in all a great group of films!

Review: This is the best short film I've ever seen. It's perfect for Star Wars fans, aspiring writers, or anyone who likes to laugh. Until I saw this film i don't think I had ever laughed uncontrollably for nine straight minutes, but now I have.

Summary: Funny, refreshing, inventive!
Review: I do not yet own this movie, but I saw it on the Web and I can't say enough good things about it.Before seeing this, I wouldn't have believed that a film could be made with an actual plot and character development in less than ten minutes, unless it was a cartoon. I think Mr. Hynes has set a new standard. I have to echo other reviewers by saying that this film was laugh-out-loud funny. It really was hysterical from start to finish. More importantly, it was intelligent and humorous, a combination that is hard to get right. Of course, someone who hasn't seen the Star Wars trilogy (does such a creature exist?) isn't going to "get" the jokes. This doesn't detract from the movie; it was just made for a very specific audience. The only sad thing about this movie's phenomenon is that this film shows how impoverished mainstream Hollywood is in terms of ideas. Maybe this will inspire (or shame) screenwriters to stop recycling and start creating and thinking and dreaming.

Summary: Great fun, in the Hardware Wars tradition!
Review: I remember clearly when Hardware Wars came out, with my sister and me howling with laughter at the clever parody. We loved Spaceballs, with its jabs, too. Being a great fan of both the Star Wars trilogy and of Shakespeare in Love, I was laughing out loud at this deft combination of the two done in a mere 9 minutes. It's like the super-fast-Shakespeare spoof which is making the theater rounds - a blast to catch all the subtle innuendos! What's the cost for the video - about the price of a Big Mac these days? I'd gladly pay double for the fun this has been at parties and when friends come over. I don't have this much fun with a lot of commercial sludge that's out on the big screen, that's for sure! Well worth it ... but see for yourself!

Review: I bought this for my husband for Christmas and previewed "to be sure it ran fine." LOL I have watched this movie short about 6 times now and everytime I watch it I see yet another reference to the Star Wars Trilogy or Shakespear In Love. A must have for the Star Wars enthusiast.

Summary: Quality short film
Review: I saw this film in English class a couple days ago because my eccentric and wonderful sophmore english teacher had Dowling, a creator of the film, a couple years ago. His sister is currently at Wellesley High School. This film is very creative, and quite humorous to even non Star Wars fans. I was surprised to find it here...it is reasonably steep for a 9 minute spoof. However, for star wars buffs, or people who want to share it with friends, this is a worthwhile purchase.

Summary: Brilliant Satire
Review: I finally caught this short on the Sci-Fi Channel, and I was blown away. My girlfriend and I sat in disbelief at how deftly these bright young film student wove together "Shakespeare in Love" and the Star Wars universe's roots within the subconcious of college student George Lucas. Put simply, we were in stiches, howling out loud the entire time. I don't even know where to start; at the dual-croissant-haired student rebellion leader who re-ignites young George's creative fire, the black-clad athsma-inflicted student competitor, or perhaps the revalent action cleverly planted in the backgrounds that would surely have made the Zucker Brothers (Airplane, Naked Gun) proud. They manage to cover everything you can think of and tack on an ingenious ending that'll have you laughing out loud long after the credits have rolled. This is indeed a triumph in every way, and a must see for any true fans of Star Wars. Believe the hype!...

Summary: Number One For HOW Long?
Review: Finally saw this little atrocity for free on the Sci-Fi Channel (betcha sales drop off now that we all taped it and don't have to get a [$] dollar bushwhacking to own it!). I fail to understand why this short is so popular... the only thing I can figure is that this is popular amongst people who think they are SW fans, but are just the schmoes who say they are so as to not sound like a fool. Every real SW fan I know has a beef with this movie and how utterly vanilla it is. It never digs in its claws, and it never tries anything dangerous (which is the sign of true comedy). It is the cinematic equivalent of an attractive prom date with zero personality. They take some nice pictures, but it was nothing memorable. At all. And certainly nothing any real SW fan should be doing backflips for.

Summary: It's no "Steven Spielberg's Movie"
Review: I found it unique that a movie finally used every word and action of the script for a purpose. Even though this is an easy task for such a short, it is captivating beyond the first viewing. The story of the directors, Nussbaum and Levy, reminds me of Daltas and Westfall, who made "Steven Spielberg's Movie" after hailing from the same office in USC as the "Lucas" minds. I have to admire Nussbaum and Levy's short for its spin on the Star Wars Classics. What a great idea. Not only is Star Wars a legend we all know, but there are many a fan who go nuts over anything Star Wars. When you mix that with a quality short film, you just watch the money flow. If you liked this, you should check out Steven Spielberg's Movie.
