Summary: Nine minutes of my life I'll never get back
Review: I wanted to like this movie. Really I did. But as many others also discovered after viewing, I found this movie to be hackneyed and sloppy. A few character references and superficial nods to Star Wars does not a good short make. Mr. Nussbaum should be thanking cinematographer Eric J. Haase for AT LEAST making this short look good. Other than that, it was a total dud. Typical example of rich kids with expensive toys -all of the resources, nothing interesting to say.

Summary: Great concept, would be nice to see fleshed out
Review: I first saw this film on the internet, like many other people. I found it to be very interesting for Lucas fanatics (like some of my good friends), but otherwise it is kind of dull, and needs a lot of fleshing out. And, altought Lucas is obviously no Shakespeare (he will never be known as a great writer), it is an interesting comparison / spoof. Well worth the eight minutes.

Summary: If Blair Witch and this movie prove anything....
Review: ...it's that you don't need a good movie to succeed in Hollywood. This is the lamest, flattest, most one-note short film I have ever seen. I will say this: Mr. Nussbaum has a grip on how to shoot film and piece it together. Other than that, this is just a series of lame joke after lame joke. We get the point very early and you just tire us out with your so-called "brilliant references" to Star Wars. Do something more original and I would gladly pay for it. But this? No way. I tried to give it zero stars for unoriginality, but had to give at least one. Prove me wrong with your features, guys.

Summary: You show it to friends over and over
Review: Saw this orginally online and it spread like wildfire aroundthe office. Hysterical, with brilliant references and parodies. If itwas any more expensive I'd say pass but [at this price] you can't even buy a paperback. You get a few hours of fun as you play for every uninitiated person who visits your house.

Review: "In my experience there's no such thing as luck."Well, Obi-Wan, apparently you haven't seen "George Lucas In Love", a shoddy one-note parody that SOMEHOW has fooled people into thinking it's brilliant. Jar Jar was funnier.

Summary: I just don't get it.
Review: Am I missing something? I've been a Star Wars fan since I was five and after hearing what people were saying, I was looking forward to seeing this ridiculously overhyped short film. This movie was sloppy and derivative -it used the same old cheap jokes employed by countless other spoofs, and used them with a very broad and sophomoric knowledge of SW (look...that fat guy must be Jabba! And hey...that guy with the inexplicably stiff elbows must be C3PO! Pure hilarity, I'm sure). They never get into the details or intricacies that make Star Wars great. I gave it two stars - one for the cinematography, one for the music. Episode I was funnier than this...

Summary: When Star Wars and Shakespeare in Love Collide...
Review: ...the result is hilarious! An asthmatically sinister neighbor who sounds surprisingly similar to Darth Vader; a hairy friend who groans like Chewbacca; a college student who beeps and bleeps like R2D2 with his tall friend who answers him like C-3PO; a girl with very interesting hair buns on either side of her head, who is leading a rebellion; a teacher who talks backwards, and just when he almost starts to make sense, he says, "Too much have I already said." They manage to cram all that and so much more into 9 minutes of hilarious movie. I especially like the twist at the end (and you'll have to watch the movie to find out what it is). :-) This is the story of George Lucas' inspiration for writing "Star Wars" a la Shakespeare in Love. This video is great! It's also nice to watch it on video, since in the past (before I got the video) I watched it online, and every time, I ran into net congestion. No net congestion with a video. :-)

Summary: In Love with "George Lucas In Love"
Review: This whitty and refreshingly original portrayal of the birth of the Star Wars series will not only be enjoyed by avid fans, but anyone who has seen the movies. I do feel, however, the part of the young man who was working on the car was drastically understated. His charisma, sex appeal, and talent should be used to its fullest. I can see him as a young Doctor/Doogie Howser or a rebel leading some sort of coup. Any directors out there need to cast more of this young man. I have thoroughly enjoyed this movie and will continue to recommend it to anyone who brings up Star Wars and George Lucas.

Summary: Great little parody - full of good acting and humor
Review: I saw this when it was originally distributed as quasi-samizdat, and it's great. The acting is quite fine with it being played totally straight. It's worth visualizing Shakespeare in Love and Star Wars briefly before watching if only to help catch all the little jokes. Great casting.

Summary: The epitome of a good short
Review: This inspired parody is a classic, whether or not you are a SW fan. The references are outstanding, including the one non SW reference that very few people seem to get. The casting was phenomenal, the screen wipes an expert touch and the cinematography very well done. At 8 minutes long, it is a perfect length for a short so as to grab your attention and let you know that these young prodigies are capable of anything in the world. Well done, to all involved!
