Summary: the dark side of 'The Truman Show'
Review: that about sums it up :-)

lots and lots and lots of style, not a whole lot of feeling. terrific FX and some nice touches (the aliens' names, for example). but a month or two later, I remember nothing but the ambience. it was good ambience though :-)

Summary: The SF masterpiece of the Nineties
Review: This movie is a combination of several classics we all know. Combine the suspense and mystery of Hitchcock, ad in the ambiance and texture of BladeRunner and sprinkle it with touches of Gilliam and you have got a recipe for this film.

Others have moaned about the plot. I would compare them to a blind man who cannot comprehend colors, or a scientist who's vision is limited to the details seen in a microscope, who cannot see the bigger picture.

My only regret is that I did not see this movie sooner.

Summary: Hokey but very entertaining!
Review: I hope most find this filmn enjoyable on the level of "wonder". I chose to buy this film not because Ebert endorsed it. (it was my first DVD. and I'm glad I have it.) I like sci-fi twists and turns mixed with mystery. The audio 5.1 DD sountrack is superb along with the goodies on the DVD. I base my stars on enlightenment and entertainment. This one is fantastic! In my view a 5 star goes only to films that get me out of my chair. This one, almost got me their. Excellent film!

Summary: The critics are not us, are they? ;-)
Review: Although the plotline has a few holes in it, you will never notice. Dark City invites you in, then immerses you in a surreal nightmare from which there is no escape (as a character or a viewer). This is possibly the most captivating film I have ever seen, and a pure delight to watch. Oh yes... lock the doors and turn off the phone.

Summary: Will be considered classic one day.
Review: Though this movie is not for everyone, anyone who appreciates a well thought out script that has you guessing until the end will love this movie. It screams genius all the way with amazing set design and a completely of the wall story.I watched this movie with a girlfriend and was very surprised at the end to find out she loved it as much as i did! I actually bought my DVD player just to get a superior copy of the movie. I guess you can tell I enjoyed it alot. Happy Watching..

Summary: One to buy for your personal library!
Review: This is a keeper for any science fiction fan. Dark City is a world where the boundaries of reality are blurred from the beginning, and are constantly shifting. Terrific performances from William Hurt and Keifer Sutherland. I recommend this to anyone who loves the "dark-and-moody" type of sci-fi!
