Summary: Always something new
Review: I've watched this movie several dozen times and am still finding something I missed nearly every time I watch it. If you like films that stretch your imagination you must watch this one!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Saw it years ago, not been able to since. PAL format please!
Review: I thought this film was conceptually astounding when I saw it in 1985. I don't imagine it would show its 'age' the way some films do. I would love to see it again, but no UK video shop carries it, nor can we even buy it for UK viewing at Amazon. (the first time Amazon has ever disappointed me). Come on, video publishers! Let us all enjoy it!

Summary: An Interesting Movie.
Review: I finally saw this movie for the first time just recently and can say that I wasn't disappointed. It's not one of my favorite movies that I've seen, but I can easily say that that it was interesting and didn't bore me. All the actors did great jobs. It must have been a tremendous undertaking when they were filming this movie. On the whole, this was a pretty good movie and worth a watch.

Summary: The way it was, accurately, for 99% of human existance.
Review: The way it was for over 99% of human (in various forms) existance. This is one of the more "reaslistic" portrayals of pre-historic and pre-agricultural living. Having Desmond Morris on as a production consultant for this movie certainly paid off. I rented it from Blockbuster, watched it twice, and will buy a copy.

Summary: I'd give this 6 stars if I could!!!!!!!
Review: Its a shame how unknown this film has remained.. I'd like to nominate it to one of the top 20 movies of the 20th Century! If you haven't seen this film, I highly suggest it. Very graphical in nature, but done in a way that is quite tasteful. I just watched this film again a few min. ago, and still fill the awesome power I felt years ago when I first saw it back in the early 80s.

Summary: an amazing concept for a film !
Review: I saw this film many years ago in a cinema that was almost empty: I have never seen it in a video store or broadcast on terrestial or cable tv which is incredible in view of its academy award. The film portrays what it must have been like for man to cope with the loss of fire which had only been discovered accidentally. It is at times terrifying yet it is also touching and even humorous, for example the scene where the intrepid cavemen shelter up a tree from the sabre tooth tiger. It is beautifully photographed and really should be deemed as a classic - it is time for the rehabilitation of this unique film.

Summary: One of the best ever!
Review: It was simply amazing that the movie was able to capture as much of one's senses in its portrayal of humankind's early history and behavioral evolution and adaptation. It was very believable in its characterizations of what behavior and instincts for survival must have been like as humans evolved, learned, and experienced new, and I imagine, frightening changes, things, and events. I am looking forward to one day finding the Laser Disc version that I recall once seeing. Even a DVD version would be awesome in capturing the sounds and breath-taking cinematography.

Summary: Remarkable!
Review: On my list of the ten best films ever made. Not for little kids, however, unless you edit out the several sex scenes (advanced woman shows cave man how to do it missionary style rather than the more traditional doggy style). The photography of scenic wilderness is beautiful.
