Season three saw much depth added to both the plot lines and the characters. It started out with "The Furies," which would forever leave viewers guessing as to Xena's paternity, and also brought a lot of variety, from comedy, to drama, to the show's first musical episode, "The Bitter Suite," in which we got to hear Lucy Lawless, the dearly departed Kevin Smith, and several other cast members sing, and watched Xena and Gabrielle finally "come home" after the rift that almost destroyed a friendship. "The Bitter Suite" was quickly followed up by "One Against an Army," which brought one of the most kick-ass fight scenes ever, and established an eternal bond between Xena and Gabrielle. OAAA is one of the most-loved episodes of all by many Xena fans. The season ends on a highly dramatic note, with the two part finale, "Sacrifice."
Season 3 is not to be missed for any Xena fan.

Summary: XENA WARRIOR PRINCESS: SEASON 3
Review: This season is outstanding, full of comedy and kick ass fighting scenes. Since Buffy Season 5 is coming out December and January are going to be GREAT!!! months for Xena and Buffy fans.
Its great to see that this set is going to have much, much better special features and commentaries. Hudeson Leick(Callisto) has a commentary worth looking forward to. Also the commentary with Lucy and Renee on "The Bitter Suite".

Summary: The Season that got me Hooked
Review: Xena's third season by far surpassed the previous seasons by my standards. This season is full episodes you'll enjoy watching over and over again. Out of all six seasons this one is marked #1 in my book. Why? I honestly don't know. The first two seasons I enjoyed greatly, but I really didn't care if I missed an episode or two, but once this season came about the idea of missing an episode was no longer bearable. So many episodes stand out in this season. Besides learning of Xena's past in Asia her greatest enemy Callisto returns in three episodes, one in particular Maternal Instincts which is my favorite episode of the season. Plus a fantastic finale that drove fans crazy for months till the next season started. Favorite season or not any fan of Xena will want this in their collection.

Review: personally, i think this is the best season if XWP. it has all the best episodes like: been there done that; gabrielles hope; warrior... priestess... tramp; the quill is mightier; maternal instints; the bitter suite; fins, femmes, and gems; and sacrifice 1 and 2. some of the funniest eps and most dramatic eps are in this season so i sudgest you get it. you will NOT be dissapointed!

The Furies
Ares enlists the aid of the Furies, who declare that the Warrior Princess has committed a terrible crime. Gabrielle investigates, and discovers that Xena had failed to avenge the murder of her father. That's news to Xena: she didn't know that her father had been murdered, much less the identity of the killer.
Been There, Done That
Xena realizes her day is repeating itself so she can break a cycle of death that hinges on two lovers' warring families.
Gabrielle's Hope
Gabrielle and Xena learn about the upcoming birth of evil Dahak's "daughter of darkness" which hits VERY close to home.
The Debt, Part I: Betrayal
As Xena and Gabrielle travel toward the Eastern kingdom of Chin, Xena recalls a kidnapping episode from her dark past involving two rival Chin clans.
The Debt, Part II
Flashbacks recall Xena's transformaton from evil to good. But in the present, the Green Dragon has captured Xena thanks to an unlikely betrayer.
The Bitter Suite
Xena and Gabrielle are bound by hatred in a dreamworld, where they must sing to be understood. Fans still go crazy for this episode...
One Against an Army
Xena must hold off an entire Persian army single-handed-and also tend to Gabrielle, who's been struck by a poison arrow. A fine tearjerker!
Forget Me Not
Gabrielle decides to lose her painful memories in the river of dreams but Joxer doesn't want her to do so because he thinks she will forget about him. (A clip show.)
Sacrifice (part II)
Evil Hope takes the form of her mother and joins forces with Ares to create a race of superbeings; Xena is forced to team up with Callisto (the beautiful Hudson Leick)

Review: WOW. What a DVD set. Not only is Xena an awesome, awesome show, but this DVD set is truly DELUXE.
3 episodes per disc, not 4! How cool is that? That means less compression and better quality!
Every disc has at least one commentary track on it, which can be just audio or with video (ie. you can see the actors in the recording studio!!)
EVERY episode has a short FEATURETTE you can view that goes behind the scenes with interviews from directors, writers, producers, AND actors! These are incredibly fun. They make each episode feel like a movie.
The extras are unbelievable. The show is outstanding.
NINE discs. Count 'em. NINE.

Summary: love Xena, but Anchor Bay STINKS
Review: Season 3 is filled with great episodes for any Xena fan. Bitter Suite is one of my favorite episodes in terms of what it achieves in a 1 hour tv format. That's what makes this boxed set so disappointing. The DVD are made cheaply and of poor quality. (I'm writing this review regarding the 3 seasons that I bought: 2, 3, 4) 1st the color landscape of the menus is so horrible that you can't see what you have selected. The basic DVD layout of menus looks thrown together. The dvds are obviously made on the cheap. The disks stick, skip, and revert to the wrong menu and I've had to ship 5 bad disks so far (at my expense) to Anchor Bay for replacement. Some don't play very well but the skips are minimal and I don't feel like paying the postage, so I've kept them. The extras in seasons 3&4 are more substantial - more interviews, commentaries, extra shorts etc. I tend to be a big fan of audio commentary and listening to Lucy, Renee, and Rob reminisce is nice. The Bruce Campbell/Ted Raimi Cabin Fever in Season 3 is quite funny. I love Xena and wish that another company had taken on the project. So disappointing. Content - B, Quality - F.

Summary: A great series
Review: Well this season 3 DVD collection gets even better with audio/video commentary with cast and crew. Lucy (Xena) and Renee (Gabrielle) sport new hair styles and colors from what you see on the series. Bloopers are always a great addition and more. Good episodes are found throughout this collection as well. There is also a really great musical episode. Nice comedy, drama, action and more. A very surprising ending you got to see. Purchase it.
