Review: I just received my VHS copy and the quality is terrible. I wonder if it was just this tape or if others have the same problem. I tried in in a couple VCR's and it's bad in all of them.

Summary: A great movie
Review: This is a top class, imaginative, well-made adventure story. It's very long, but it held my interest all the way through. The target audience is younger teenagers, but adults will fully enjoy it as well. It has good characters (except for the mayor), and the character development is believable. The plot is clear and consistent. Katie Carr is stunning as Marion. It's not too Disneyfied and sugary, though there is just a touch of that. There is also something you seldom find in movies - a good villain. By that I mean a villain who is not a comic-book bad-guy, but a fully believable and real person who is devious, selfish, ruthless, and always distorting the truth, yet manages to be almost likeable in his own way. The production is beautifully detailed, but characters and plot always take precedence over the computer graphics - the way it should be. Highly recommended.

Review: As far as T.v movies go this is a 3.5 star family fun movie.It's sort of a mix of,Plantet of the Apes(tv) Jurrassic Park,Land of the Lost (t.v if you remember those reruns or first runs).With a bit of disney live action story telling on the side.The fx is a match for JP- the Charecter Zippo is a show stealer.
When two boys,crash into the sea :Via there small private plain.They find themselves on a island that time forgot.Where dinosaurse and humans live in harmony.Although it appears in some cases the dinos are incharge.While looking for a way home the boys must adabt too this strange newlifestyle in the process they become involed in aiding in the saving of Dinotopia-the Sun Stones(gems)that power the city and protect it from Carnovors is failing all over the island.New ones must be found.The humans &Dinos are so caught up in tradition that they are ready too let there world die.So its up too the boys ,Zippo ,the mayors daughter and a wicked shop keeper too save Dinotopia.

Summary: Great movie!!
Review: I truly loved this movie. I watched it (and taped it) when it was on in May, and I loved it so much I rushed out and bought the DVD when it came out. It's a wonderful story of two brothers who end up on the island of Dinotopia. They are total opposites, Karl being a rebel and David being a bookish loner. Karl is assigned to the hatchery, where he takes care of 26, an adorable little chasmosaur, whereas David is assigned to Canyon City to become a Skybax rider. Both boys fall in love with Marion, the daughter of Mayor Waldo. They learn new things on the island and their lives are changed forever. I recommend this movie to any dinosaur fan, and anyone who enjoys brilliant special effects.

Review: I just saw the DVD movie, never read or even heard of the books. Very well made and fun to watch. Cool special effects, great plot. Very long (4 hours) but does not drag at all. It would be a super cool place to visit!... well worth it and makes a cool addition to your collection.

Summary: Disappointing "Dinotopia"
Review: I greatly enjoyed Gurney's "Dinotopia" Books, and one of his prints graces my living room wall. But this film is truly dreadful! The only saving grace is the dinosaurs themselves; they look and act so real that one might think they actually were real, and the stilted, lifeless human characters were computer simulations. The new story is far less interesting than Gurney's original one, with some huge holes in the plot; the dialog is drab, the characters stock figures, and the acting (except for Alice Krige) terrible. In short, avoid this one.

Summary: James Gurney's world comes alive!
Review: Just like Dinosaurs become real! The story is just like the Dinotopia series! This mega series truly catches the experience of James Gurney's Dinotopia. This is a truly good mega series! I still can't get over the fact that the Dinosaurs look so real! I cannot wait until this comes out! Is saw it on tv and I thought "Man! That was so good."

Summary: Dinosaurs? Who ever said they were dead?
Review: I always have been fascinated with Dinosaurs and archeology. There have been a few imformational excerpts on Dinosaurs, ya this is nothing like that!! This gives you the sense that people really do exsit with Dinosaurs, and who knows maybe they do ^_- I think that if you use your imagination you could live in your own world too. David and Karl did, they went island hopping with their father when they ran into a unexpeted strom that came from no where. The wind was too much for them and they crashed into the sea, Daivid and Karl made it out but their father parished. they were washed up on a "suposedly" deserted island, but they decover not. They meet many people such as Ciyrus Crabb, Marion, Zippo (Librarin), the Mayor of WaterFall city, and much much more. I recomed this movie because when every thing seems to fall out of place sometimes it's good to take those puzzle pices and put them together, but in a very different way. Remember it took a creative mind to build The Two Towers in New York, what can your mind do? Watch Dinotopia you'll love the dinosaurs. ...

Summary: Good Family Flick 4 The Kids
Review: Back in '93 or 94, when I was just a little guy, I got the book Dinotopia. I was big on dinosours when I was little. I had no idea they made a movie. I'm 15 now, and don't plan on seeing it. But from what I remember from back in the saturday cartoon days, if it's anything like the book, the kids will love this movie. Parents, don't hesitate buying this for your 7 year-old daughter/son if they are fascinated with dinos. Peace

Review: From what I've seen in the movie clips and read in the books, this looks like it's going to be one of the best ever dinosaur films ever! Yeah! The animation is great, acting superb and the dialogue and storylines are brilliant! Definitely a one to watch, just hope I can get the European version!
