Summary: walken is the man
Review: Is it just me or does any one else love this man? Christopher Walken is the "king of the screen" His portrayal of Gabriel scared me senseless and I loved every minute of it. I loved it so much I named my son Gabriel. No other actor is so convincing as Walken he becomes the character and makes you believe that he is whoever he is playing. Much respect to you Mr. Walken.

Summary: Heaven & Hell, angels, souls & talking monkeys.
Review: The story goes something like this...Fallen angels (led by Gabriel/Christopher Walken)are searching for the most evil human soul to help in their struggle against God & man. I love the characters...especially Walken's character, he plays bad, so good...& I love his pet "Talking Monkey"! Great movie!!

Summary: A New Twist on the Old Biblical Theme
Review: Understand something about The Prophecy: it is not an epic, because for all of its strong points it will not appeal to all moviegoers across the board. However, for those interested in the genre or the actors, The Prophecy should not be missed -- indeed, it should be studied. The plot essentially involves a battle between God's Angels for His affection; it seems that a group of dissenting Angels led by the Archangel Gabriel are annoyed that God favors humans and opened the Kingdom of Heaven for them. The story itself is rather absurd (the dissenting angels seek to possess the soul of an evil human learned in war to lead their forces), but excusable because, after all, modern religion is no more fact than ancient mythology -- and in either realm anything is possible. What is interesting is the characterization of God's Angels, and the notion that they are not pure, altruistic and heavenly as we commonly believe. The dialoge is simply fascinating, and the actors are wonderful, and this is where the film really shines. The most intriguing character is Lucifer, the expelled former angel, who offers a description of hell unlike any other: hell, he explains, is not fire and brimstone, but rather an eternity without Him. Talk about shattering your belief system. Give this film a try -- it will become a favorite.

Summary: Thought provoking and disturbing. Awsome in the extreme.
Review: Ok, so the plot has holes and the story is a bit convoluted. But who cares. The hauning beauty of this film is that angels are portraied as another race of beings created by God to serve Him. The questions raised by this interesting and new perspective concerning the true nature of God and why He does what He does is more disturbing than the actions of His servants on Earth. It also obviously calls into question the true nature of angels. The dialogue is most compelling and interesting when either the angels or the Devil himself appear on screen. For those of you who look for quotable quotes from movies, this one is full of them.

Summary: A cult movie.
Review: It has an absurd plot, but the way it's told is so good that it became a cult movie even in my country. With wonderful performances, specially amazing Walken, finally playing an angel, but in a different way nobody has ever done before, which is his trademark. Its sequel is also very good, very creative, but you must see this first part to understand its whole idea. And it's said Prophecy III is in production...Can you imagine what they will invent for the next part? Well, for a while watch this one. This is a very good movie.

Summary: One of Walken's best!
Review: This was one of the best Christopher Walken movies I have ever seen. If you like movies with biblical themes than this is a must see.

Summary: Walken is a true Master!!
Review: A friend rented this in college and, being a "cult-movie" freak, I knew I had to watch. I was addicted. In a time when our cherrubic views are closer to "Touched by an Angel" and Clarence from "It's a wonderful life", it's a nice change to see the true nature of these creatures. Walken is excellent, Mortensen is the best Lucifer I've seen, and the rest of the cast only accentuates the film. Definately a must-see for any film lover.

Summary: GREAT MOVIE
Review: IT MIXES SUPERNATURAL AND ACTION.WALKEN IS EXCELLENT,EVEN IF HE LOOKS LIKE HES WEARING AWIG.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Fascinating alternative view of western theology
Review: Maybe it's not so alternative, for all I know biblical scholars have thought this way for years. In any event, a very interesting view of angels, hell, God, humanity, and faith. Well acted, especially by my perpetual favorite, Walken! Madsen looks great as a brunette, and my only real complaint is that Kevin Spacey should have played Satan. Worth watching, but stay away from the crappy sequel.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Awesome!!!
Review: A supernatural thriller for Walken fans. Elias Koteas is superb and Viggo Mortensen is scary and convincing as Satan. You will watch this often.
