Summary: I highly recommend this film.
Review: Pi is probably the best film I've seen in the last year. It's truly unfortunate that this film couldn't be enjoyed by the mainstream "beavis and butthead" America. This movie shows just how good independant films can be. This movie probably cost less than a single day of catering at most hollywood productions. The character of Max Cohen is quite believable in his schitzophrenic tendencies. Some say that he's not likeable, but really he isn't supposed to be. In general, all the actors do a fine job. A few times in the story, I felt a little lost, but was able to figure out exacting what what happening. Not once in the film did I get bored by what was happening, which is surprising since this film deals with mathematics. I watched the film yesterday, and it's still stuck in my head. I will probably be thinking about it for a while longer. I'm looking forward to purchasing the DVD, just so I can get the few extra scenes. For anyone who wants to see good film making, and can stand a little thinking, I recommend this film.

Summary: An "Eraserhead" that makes sense
Review: The high contrast B&W and the bizarre hallucinations certainly reminded me of "Crazy Dave" Lynch's masterpiece, except this has a somewhat understandable plot. And you know what? I don't recall ever seeing a Sci-Fi movie feturing Hadsidic Jews before. Very original. Well, maybe "Spaceballs" had some, I can't remember.

Summary: Amazing movie.
Review: A pure masterpiece. A literal work of art. Great titles also recommend: Cube, Gummo, Basquiat.

Summary: Pretty cool
Review: This was definitely one of the better movies I have seen in the past year, but it's not quite on the top five list of all time or anything. I read one review here which said something to the effect of, "A college level math course should be pre-requisite before viewing." Again, I wouldn't go that far. I just think someone finally figured out an interesting package for the whole "patterns in the chaos, chaos in the patterns" hook. But there were some gripes. There were a couple of stinker lines that made me laugh out loud, but the dialogue was great for the most part. The music, however, was totally enveloping and amped the whole experience. I hate giving it the "indie/gen-x" tag, but rather think it was just a solid flick worth a couple passes.

Summary: Thought-provoking
Review: How far should one man go?

This movie argues the fallacies of Max's Search for that which can destory him. A 216 digit number with infinite power. If you like math, science, or just eerie suspense thrillers, see this movie!

Summary: Riveting, breathless, enthrawling, mesmerizing, fascinating.
Review: I've run out of adjectives. I was glued to the TV set from the instant it begun until it ended and even a bit longer- so stunned I couldn't move. I was totally freaked out for DAYS. Independent film-making at it's every best, and reminds us why we even to go movies in the first place. And what film as art is supposed to be like. I hope the price comes down a bit, as I would like to see every college kid and young professional have one, but it's worth every dime of the almost $40 it costs right now. I'm so tired of the Hollywood bilge that I've seen maybe 2 new films in theaters during the last year. This movie reminds me that great things in filmmaking are still possible, and the artform is NOT completely dead, and if you see the film yourself you'll understand what i mean.

Summary: The best film ever!!!!!!
Review: Everybody should watch this film. It is original and very interesting. Obviously if you are a person who likes action and Hollywood movies, do not watch this film. You will not like it. If you are someone who likes movies that make you think this is definitely the one.

Summary: Not for fans of Jim Carey
Review: Probably one of the eerie features of the film was that I used to live at an address of 216, so the symbolism had a little bit of extra "funkiness" if I may. The film will pretty much have a very select viewing audience. It probably won't appeal to the mainstream, but it does have the viewer smiling at its quirky moments and eerie mood. As you get into the movie, you feel yourself being drawn into the madness. With each head episode the protagonist has, the results become increasingly severe, pushing the viewer to cringe at each subsequent occurance. If your taste is more drawn to the mainstream, go ahead and watch a film with sophomoric and easy to understand humor, with water added for a watered down plot. If you want a change from the everyday film, Pi is highly recommended.

Summary: Flat out perfection.
Review: Pi is by far my favorite movie. If I had a hundred dollars availible I would buy this movie right now. I have seen this movie 25 times in the last 3 days alone. The director is a genious. The acting, shooting, suspense, all superb. I urge you to tell everyone and their mother about this movie. Pure perfection! Pi-3.141592654......

Summary: Number madness
Review: My previous attempt to review this film apparently "censored" by Amazon.com staff, and rightly so, considering the words I had used... I think that I would not need to say much more.

However, I must confess something about me: I hate cyberpunk and I hate hip-hop even more! I don't think that the ideas are so original in this film and I believe it is somewhat overrated. By for me, that is beside the point. I find this film very aestehtically dipleasing and I could barely force myself to watch it.

I do understand that certain people may have a completely different opinion thatn mine, but that is a matter of personal taste. As another viewer said, "you'll either love or hate" this film. Apparently, this film was reviewed by people who loved it (who knows, other angry reviews might have been removed and people didn't bother again! ;-).

So, that is my warning to anyone pondering to buy this film, especially after having read the raving reviews here... :-)
