Review: this is a movie that is fun to watch, the singing by abel in the club is very good , walken is at his best with his who cares atitude. defoe is spaced out and cool the way he's falling apart before your eyes , over abel. abel has a nice accent in her voice. the music is cool at the begining of the movie

Summary: Almost Unendurable...
Review: This movie peaks when Christopher Walken (who has never been unwatchable) declares, "Fluffy!" Watch for it! It probably isn't as funny as I thought it was, but I couldn't stop laughing.

The rest of the movie is dreary and slow. I really hate to condemn honest attempts at artistic expression, and I believe that this is an honest attempt. Ferrera makes demands on his audience--which is fine; there's no excuse for laziness--but when those demands are met, they ought to be rewarded. This movie does not reward what can only be called the stoic endurance of anyone who manages to sit through it.

Other reviews have outlined the plot, so I don't need to repeat it here. I will say, though, that Walken and Defoe are horribly misused in this movie. Art doesn't need to be boring. Tolstoy doesn't bore us. Hemingway doesn't bore us. Orson Welles doesn't bore us. Hitchcock doesn't bore us. Why does Ferrera sacrifice content at the altar of style? This movie isn't only tedious, it is *needlessly* tedious. The movie takes a good idea, a good story, and ruins it. You'll pull your hair out watching Willem Defoe agonize alone in a tiny hotel room for 20 minutes. Guess what he's agonizing over: Love. Yawn. His agony is nothing compared to ours, watching this movie.

Abel Ferrera is best when he's delivering straight entertainment (King of New York, and Body Snatchers, for instance), and using his stylistic flourishes to satisfying the narrative, not his own pretenses.

Summary: At Least Plan 9 from Outer space was comical
Review: This was the worst movie that I have ever seen! I can honestly say that because I actually watched the whole thing. Every frame of it. I wanted to Give Mr. Walken & Mr. Dafoe the chance of finishing the movie in some extrordinary way...but they didn't! I cannot say that I've seen anything by the director. this will however be the last movie he directs that I watch. the screen play was terrible, the cinematography was lousy, the acting was the worst that I've ever seen from actors with such an impressive list of credits. I'm seriously thinking about writing to the production company about getting a refund for the Dollar that I spent renting it.

PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS MOVIE!!! I am begging amazon to remove this from their catologue because who ever buys this movie will be extremely upset with them and will probably never buy any thing from them again.

The only reason I gave this movie a one star rating is because they did not have a negative star designation.

THANK YOU FOR LETTING ME RANT

Summary: Ew! Boring!
Review: Ugh, I didn't even finish watching this movie. It's incredibly *BORING*. We enter the movie with two people halfway through a conversation, and it gets more confusing from there. The plot is minimal, at best, and the movie is basically a bunch of idiotic nonsensical conversations and sex scenes. Forunately, they weren't at the same time. Avoid this trash at all costs.

Summary: Pff
Review: Well,
Everybody seems to hate this movie in almost all regards. I would say that it isn't spectacular, but I think it deserves better than a lot of these people are giving it. I can respect that they think differently of it.
*chuckle*
It's amazing how many people can be wrong.

Many complained that they didn't understand what was going on. Sucks for them, I guess they just aren't very bright I know I watched it, and had no trouble seeing what was going on. I read the book afterward, and thought it was quite a well-done adaptation, though I would have thought that they could have come up with a better william gibson story to do a movie of, considering the brevity of this particular one, and the abundance of other stories out there, many of which are considerably longer.

Summary: The worst screenplay EVER.
Review: What a waste of talent coming from a cast of (usually) wonderful actors. Walken & Dafoe in endless incoherent banter. The beautiful Asia Argento, who is Italy's most famous actress is miscast in this horrible mess. What a shame! I have seen the work of all these actors but this one is a huge, awful attempt to be artistic. Director Abel Ferara, who has made one of my most favorite movies (like Bad Lieutenant w/ Harvey Keitel) thoroughly dissapoints me in this shoddy piece. Everything is tacky, including the quality of the film. This is by far, the worst movie by a talented director made w/ three awesome actors EVER made. Rent it but do not buy.

Summary: great transfer of a one-of-a-kind film
Review: when I first saw this, I thought it was possibly the worst, sloppiest film ever made, but it stuck in my head until I finally figured out what the story's really about. we've all had moments in life when we've pondered, over & over again, how someone we loved could betray us, and/or what we could've done to have changed the course of our lives. this film & the William Gibson story it's based on are unique in their storytelling & the screenwriter's commentary explains everything sequence by sequence in this at-first baffling movie experience. if you like off-beat/alternative/experimental film, check this out ASAP! I don't think there's ever been anything else like it. & Asia Argento's the stunning icing on the cake!
