Review: "Would you like some ah coffee Mr Tully?" "Do I?" "Yes, have some." "Yes have some"

Best part in the entire movie. I acted like Lewis Tully, after he was posessed, and people thought I was drunk, it is the best movie there ever was! The props are marvelous, the acting is amazing, the effects are still effective, and the comedy goes on and on (like me). This thing deserves a 10 or a 12!!

"I think we can get her a guest shot on Wild Kingdom"

Summary: a classic film, a superb dvd
Review: The movie is a classic comedy, and they spared no expense on making the DVD. The silhouette MST3K-style commentary (by writer/star Harold Ramis, director Ivan Reitman, and producer ... I forget his name) is awesome, sometimes as funny or funnier than the movie itself!

Summary: Whoa, ho, ho, ho, Nice shootin', Tex!
Review: Bill Murray proves he's one of the best comic actors of all time in this film, which I just recently rediscovered after buying the remastered video and laughing my head off for 108 straight minutes. The one-liners are incredible; Murray gets most of the best ones. The scene in the car about Judgement Day is one of the best in the film; the theme song and special effects still hold up after 15 years. Overall one of the best films ever made, up there with "Brazil" and "American Pie".

Summary: A minor word of warning
Review: I agree with most of the positive comments on this DVD, BUT my Samsung just does not like the FX multiangle stuff. Try to play any of it and the machine just hangs. A big downer, but this release has enough content to render it a mere niggle.

Summary: Best use of DVD technology I have ever seen.
Review: I have had friends show me their DVD video collections and haveplayed a few titles for me, showing off the features available on thedisks. But as a new DVD owner myself, this version of "Ghostbusters" makes the best use of this technology that I have seen so far. By providing so much background information about the film and its creation I came away with a better sense of the contributions made by the actors, writers, and directors. And the ability to compare storyboard information with certain scenes and the animation concept of certain scenes with the finished product makes this a DVD that any movie buff would love to own.

Summary: Dated Classic
Review: Being one of the biggest movies of its time, it was important to see how well Ghostbusters held up 15 years later. Well, while it still captured the moment, much of the humor, costumes, hair styles and music really shows the date. The movie still has some great Bill Murray tag lines, but the movie has been so over exposed that the lines aren't that funny anymore. The special effects also really show off how old this movie really is, unlike other special effect driven flicks like The Thing and Alien that hold up even today. Still, it is a classic film of that time, and deserves to be treated as such. The DVD is an excellent version with a full 16x9 enhanced 2.35 to 1 aspect ratio and a 5.1 Dolby Digital soundtrack. There is also a bunch of extras including a Mystery Science Theater 3000 style commentary with silhouettes of the commentators over the screen (alas, this does not come up unless your DVD player is set to 4x3 which mine is not, so I did not get to see this feature but I still listened to the commentary). A plethora of other features also exists. Overall, while dated, this movie was a landmark film of the 80s. It is just unfortunate that it did not hold its own when compared with current special effects driven movies.

Summary: A must have disc
Review: This is a wonderful disc. The extras are some of the best that I have ever seen. My one and only complaint is that the menu is too confusing. However even that is not enough to make me give this disc a bad review.

Summary: Everybody can relax, I found a car.
Review: The list of car repairs that Ray gives is priceless!!(That's a big Twinkie) This is the movie to buy a DVD player for.(They hate this, I like to torture them) The added scenes are great, and the extra promo stuff is very cool! (What is, the MAGIC word?)The one liners in this movie are endless.(That would have worked if you hadn't stopped me)If you saw this movie 5 years ago, or if you just removed it from your VCR, run out and get this on DVD.(We can cause more damage that way)If it were in the theaters today, you would spend twenty bucks to see it once.(Everybody has three mortgages nowadays) Plus you would not have all the neat behind the scenes stuff.(Is it a Star?) Once your wife sees how cool this DVD is, she won't mind that you bought the expensive DVD player to go with it(Let's show this prehistoric lady how we do things down town).

Summary: Who you gonna call?! Need I say more?
Review: The Ghostbusters DVD edition, is a true example of how they can really take advantage of this wonderful videosystem. Ghostbusters in itself, is a wonderful movie, of transdimensional proportions. Now with this amazing DVD edition, it is even better. This is my all time favoritte DVD, and a MUST BUY for all owners of a DVD player, unless you hate Ghostbusters, not that it's possible.
