Summary: Wow!
Review: If you just can't get enough of the Ghostbusters, you'll get so much more from this DVD! Features Harold Ramis (Egon Spengler) and Ian Reitman share wits a la Mystery Science Theatre. And the deleted scenes, can't miss! Amazing sound and picture clarity.

Such a shame there's no part three to this movie.

Summary: Very silly and very funny.
Review: Ghostbusters is a really good fun film. Reitman brought the best out of the Aykroyd and Murray combination, the latter barely utttering a serious line in the entire film. Ramis is also good as the straight man of the three, while Weaver gets a totally serious role as their first customer. This all-star cast also includes great performances from both Rick Moranis and Annie Potts. By the way look out for the scene when Moranis throws a party, he improvised a speech that lasts several minutes which is hilarious!

The concepts of this film are silly in the extreme, but somehow during the film they seem almost believable. This is a film that you can show the whole family and please all. Overall this is an Eighties classic with Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd at their very best, a must see for all comedy fans.

Translation to DVD is superb with both picture and sound quality at its best. I saw the region 2 edition which has (I think) a different commentary which was both interesting and fun to listen to, so I expect the commentary on the US release is even better (it normally is).

Watch this film!

Summary: THE BEST MOVIE EVER
Review: This Movie rules. If you havent seen this, see it, because its a great family film and belive me the kids will love it. And everyone loves the Stay Puft MarshmellowMan, and slimer. It's about 3 scientists who get kicked out of a university and go into buisness for themselves, and blah blah blah, just take my word for it and watch the movie.

Summary: It's Missing Only One Thing To Make It Perfect!
Review: I LOVE this DVD but I have one problem. It has everything you could possibly want about the movie but it's missing something VERY important. Where's the original "Ghostbusters" music video? That one little edition is all that's missing.

Summary: How refreshing . . . how eighties.
Review: You're always going to have a hard time with eighties comedies coming out on DVD - especially one heavy on the special effects. But Ghostbusters succeeds thanks mostly to Bill Murray's runaway performance in the second half - unlike most comedies, the movie actually gets funnier as it goes. Harold Ramis, Dan Ackroyd, Rick Moranis and Sigourney Weaver are all perfect (although they seem to be supporting him) and the finale is worth seeing again, just to remind yourself how funny it was the first time. Of course, stop-frame animation is now so passe as to be prehistoric, and the effects in general date the film. It also starts slowly, with plot necessary to scythe through in order to access the jokes. But stick with it - this is proof that comedies can be funny and still have a plot.

Summary: OPEN THE TRAP
Review: When you pick up GHOSTBUSTERS on DVD you're picking up more than just a movie, but a library. Packed, stacked, and fully featured, GHOSTBUSTERS is the end all be all of movies (on a FIDDLE FACTOR of one to ten, i.e. - bells, knobs, whistles... GHOSTBUSTERS is a ten... you will spend a good hour or two just playing with all the features). Beside a clean transfer, excellent sound and a timeless movie, you get commentary, concept to screen both in art work and special effects (a chance to use your ANGLE button here where you can watch the finished scene, then flip to the rough cut and special effect cut of the same scene). Excellent interactive menus (wait long enough and STAY PUFF will turn a corner and come marching down the street), a FACTS and TRIVIA track which scrolls inside information in subtitles under the film. Three extra trailers for GROUNDHOG DAY, STRIPES and GHOSTBUSTERS 2 are also included... shamless promotion, but also of historial interest as well... when was the last time you saw the STRIPES preview? All in all... buy it.

Summary: Greatest Movie Ever Made
Review: You will never again get a team of actors together with this kind of quality and chemistry. Hilarious, but also smart. See what a difference a great script makes? And you can tell all involved really cared about the picture, not just about getting paid. Also, the DVD has so many great extra features it made me feel like I was really cheated by some of the other DVD's I bought. Don't miss out!

Summary: The funniest, no care movie of the 80's
Review: This is one of the greatest movie of all times. It is rather funny. Bill Murray adds a lot of character in this movie. The cast is huge. There is no little name people. There are big stars. Every actor in this movie plays their part real well. It is even a good movie for the younger crowd. Language is not totaly bad. There is a few mild terms, but overall it is clean.
