Summary: Great
Review: This movie really puts Bruce Willis acting skills to the test! He is great in The Kid as a image consultant who as become unhappy with life until his eight year old self is sent back to help live life happier, but must sort trough his painful past. This movie was a 100 times better than I expected, its full of drama and lots of laughs. This would be a great movie that everyone in the family can enjoy.

Summary: Disney's The Kid - A Great Movie That Will Please Everyone
Review: When I first saw the previews for this movie, it looked like a cool slapstick comedy(which I like.) The trailer didn't really give you a hint to what the plot would be about. You just knew that this jerk called Russ Stewrets( I think thats how you spell it) is a big buisness man. His eight year old self comes out of nowhere. It looked interesting so I went ahead and saw it. I will try to make the plot sound simple: The Kid is sent into the year 2000 from the 60s by his 60-70 year old self. The reason is for this kid to help his 40 year old self come back to the 60s with him so they can correct what made him a such a inconciderate jerk. The thing is, nether the The Kid or his 40 year old self know that. (This plot is alot easier to understand when you watch it.) Alot of the movie is incredibly funny, and their wasn't one person in the room who didn't laugh. And the good thing about this movie is that there is a certain type of humor for everyone that is completely clean and not dirty at all. In the last half hour of the film, The Kid and his 40 year old self figure out why it all happened and they go back to the 60s. I will not reveal any more to the plot because you should really go see it yourself. But I will tell you that 50% of the movie is strong drama that may put a tear in your eye. There is superb acting throughout the film. Even Spencer Breslin, who plays The Kid, acts just as good as Bruce Willis in the movie. All these elements combine into a great family movie without foul language, or dirty humor. Everything is completely clean. The reason for the PG rating is because of the high drama near the end of the film that may tramatize small children. I think that most kids in first grade will be able to handle it but it really depends o the sensitivity of the child. Overall though, this movie is funny and touching at some point for everyone. Thanks for reading!

Summary: previews make it look corny, but it is far from being so
Review: Just about every PG kid's movie I see the previews to,always look corny but then I go see them and theyre not at all.Thats what happened with this one.The same with "My Dog Skip".They are always usually sad. This one was a little sad but very touching.I really don't like Bruce Willis that much but this movie changed my mind about that actor. He could have won best actor award or something for this movie. This is a movie that definetely deserves five stars.

The 8-year old is WILLIS at age 8 and both learn things from each other in this HILARIOUS and HEART-WARMING film.

Very funny, for adults and KIDS --other stars are Emily Mortimer and LILY TOMLIN (who's great)

Go check it out. Bruce Willis is on a roll!

Summary: Falls Short of Great, But Not That Bad
Review: I attended a preview screening of this movie, and I went in with low expectations. The movie was better than I thought it would be, but not by much. The story concerns Bruce Willis as a lawyer who everyone considers a jerk. His 40th birthday is approaching, and then he meets a kid, which turns out to be himself younger. This movie does provide a few laughs, but mostly for the pre-teen audience. The first hour is EXTREMELY slow and tedious, but if you can get past that I actually found the second hour to be quite enjoyable. This movie is mostly reccomended for parents to take their pre-teen kids to. If you fit that description, I see no reason not to have a good time at this flick

Summary: A TERRIFIC FILM FOR ALL!
Review: I really don't watch too many Disney movies anymore, now being all grown up, but I saw the previews for "Disney's The Kid", and it looked pretty good. It wasn't pretty good, it was terrific!

Bruce Willis stars as Russ, an image consultant who's grumpier than Scrooge. He simply has no respect for anyone else, and hates a whiner. (Favorite line: Somebody call the whaaambulance!) He has also done his best to foget his childhood.

That all changes when he is visited by an eight year old boy. A boy who seems very familar. As it turns out, the kid is Russ at age eight, visiting him from the past. Russ starts to think that he is losing it and has no idea what to do with the kid.

They start to get along, and Russ starts to remember a few things from childhood. Later on, he figures out that the kid is there to help him remember something, something that has been long forgotten.

"Disney's The Kid" is a wonderful film, and didn't get the attention it should have since it was a "Disney" flick. Don't let the "Disney" logo fool you. This is a funny and touching film for audlts and children. This is another easy five out of five.

Summary: Audrey Wells Writing Gives Strong Foundation.....
Review: I decided to revisit this movie after I learned it was written by Audrey Wells, who also wrote (and directed) "Under the Tuscan Sun".... I decided - "I want to watch as much of her stuff as possible" - mostly because I trusted to be delighted....especially given my faint recollection of this Bruce Willis-coming-to-much-better-adulthood (really a coming of age in a way beyond the usual-bursting into adulthood chronologically).

Bruce Willis grasps his character, Russ Duritz, very well - he is splendidly uptight and horribly candid, though you know he must have some sort of heart beating way deep inside from the people he attracts to him. We learn there is some sort of bad-history with his father from an early scene, we are not sure what is up with that, and we also learn Russ knows how to surround himself with remarkable women.

He even manages to attract a newly hired Los Angeles anchorwoman neatly played by Jean Smart as his seatmate in an airplane. (He dryly states he won't consider the cosmic influences that brought them together, yet later he seeks Smart's character out for advice when he finally gets that he is actually NOT in control of the universe.)

Spencer Breslin is everywhere these days, but his face was fresh and new when this movie was made. He played the mini-Russ role believably. I wanted to climb through the TV several times to give him a cuddle. Thankfully, the adult Russ' love interest, Amy, filled in for me in my absence. *Smile*

Woven into the movie are many brilliant messages - they don't clunk the viewer over the head like a sermon and yet for the alert, open viewer - they come through loud and clear. Audrey Wells writing was crisp, laugh out loud funny yet also circled around for many deep moments in the truth-filled messages sprinkled throughout.

When you watch the DVD - watch the Moon Scenes - they were classic, although at first shot you might not think a thing about them. My daughter was delighted in the end, when there was a mini-Science fact as well.

This multi-layered, textured movie is one that deserves multiple viewing. Enjoy!

Summary: The Truth
Review: This film is what 'therapy' is all about. I believe in it (the movie) as it clearly showed what REAL therapy, by a GOOD therapist can do for us. Every one of us has been 'damaged' to varying degrees, and this movie makes it clear that many of our "adult" behaviors (especially the inappropriate ones) come from our childhood. That is the truth and nothing but the truth!!

Summary: Awesome Movie! Good Fun!
Review: I have read a few of the negative reviews of this movie and cannot understand how someone could not enjoy this fantastic movie.

When Russ Duritz (Willis) receives a visitor at his well-to-do estate, he thinks it is a burglar. But it turns out to be an eight-year-old boy named Rusty (Spencer Breslin) who, somehow, some way, is Duritz. Duritz has spent his whole life rejecting his childhood and teaching others how to be something they?re not ? you guessed it, he?s an image consultant. And that?s the part I liked best about this movie; Willis makes the script work so very well. I truly, honestly believe no one could have nailed this role the way Willis did ? he convinced me that if he were to leave acting and become a real life image consultant, he would be the best in the business.

Continuing on, Duritz is determined to make the whining snot-nosed kid (himself a few sizes smaller) go away. But when it becomes obvious that?s not going to happen, Russ is left with no choice but to hang with the kid until he can figure out why this strange and impossible event is occurring. It is a wild ride when the two just-a-like-but-completely-opposite duo hang out.

There are a lot of fun twist and turns in this movie.

I believe the cinematography in this movie is also top-notch.

I say ignore the bad reviews. Trust my review and purchase this great DVD!

See ya next review.
