Summary: They can't be replaced
Review: Several newer buddy movies have been made but none can replace the original Bill and Ted. They are the best.

Summary: GREAT movie, but the DVD could've offered more...
Review: This movie, IMHO, gets five stars. Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure is a really fun movie about two high school students who are about to flunk out of history. Worse, if Ted flunks history, his father is going to send him to a military academy in Alaska. If this happens, Bill & Ted's band will never be formed and the utopian future that results from their music will never come to pass. So, the folks from the future send Rufus (George Carlin) back in time to help Bill & Ted pass.

The main charm of this movie is that it never takes itself seriously. It's simply a lot of fun to watch these two dingbats try to round of some of history's greatest people and bring them to their history report.

So, if I said five stars, why do I only give it four? I took one off because the DVD contains almost no bonus features. The only extra on the disk is the theatrical trailer. Surely, they could have given us more...

Even so, the movie is still a great movie and definitely worth seeing over and over again.

Summary: Hilarious!
Review: Bill & Ted are flunking history class. If they don't pass their final exam, they will never form their band "Wyld Stallions". Along comes Rufus, a man from the future, who gives them a time machine, so they can gather people from the past to give an oral report at the school. A crazy adventure with lots of laughs. Recommended.

Summary: Look, dudes, an excellent film on a totally bogus dvd
Review: Bill and Ted's excellend adventure is a very funny film about 2 complete idiots needing to get an A+ on their report or they'l flunk. The report is to see what big historical figures would think of their town. They literally ask them. I think that the Abraham Lincoln and Napolean actors should have looked a lot more like them, but in general, this was done well. Bill and Ted time travel through a phone booth to different periods of time, reminding theirself of things to put places in future, and grabbing them in the past. Pretty clever, but considering the film is only 14 years old and is widely popular, why the heack is this not a better dvd. Why not remaster and restore the picture, and give it a high definition transfer (The sound is 5.1, and it is as bright and shap as it is ever), and, get this, a making of documentary, and deleted scenes (there have to possibly be deleted historical figures). What would have been awesome is if they got Alex Winters, Keanu Reeves, George Carlin, and Stephen Herek. The only extra is a trailer, and that is only okay. I understand that compared to taped off comedy central, store bough vhs, and beta, possibly even the laserdisk, this is an improvement. A lot of people already own the vhs, so the dvd manufacturers should have stuck something else in to make the second purchase worthwhile. THIS CAME OUT WHEN DVD WAS, AND STILL IS LOADING THEIR DVD'S WITH SPECIAL FEATURES. At least it's in widescreen, which is very good.

Summary: My Favorite Movie of the 80's
Review: I am 13 and when this movie was released I was still a baby. I saw this movie about 2 years ago on Comedy Central, which only cuts out a little bit so its about the same as renting it. It is played on Comedy Central oftenly. So wait for it on there.
Now that I am done talking about where to watch the movie I will tell you the plot. Bill(Alex Winter) and Ted(Keanu Reeves) are 2 kids trying to make it big as a band named the Wyld Stallyns. They both have an oral history report due but if Ted doesnt pass history(he must get an A on his report to pass school) his dad will send him to military school which will end there band. They are visited by a mysterious man named Rufus(George Carlin) who knows how to help them. Rufus comes with a time machine that is a phone booth. He tells them that there music sets the way of life in the future. So he tells them they must travel in time to learn more about the past to help them with there report. They decide to collect historical figures for the report. If you want to see a funny adventurous movie watch Bill and Teds Excellent Adventure. You wont be disapointed

Summary: Not the funniest movie, but extremely charming
Review: I'm not going to go over what happens in this film. All I can say that this film is extremely charming, albeit not laugh-out loud funny. Parents, this is a film that you can let your young teenagers watch, and not worry about what they will see or hear. No nudity. Very light on sexual innuendo. Little, if ANY profanity. I think some of the bad reviews are from older, tight-booties, who can't appreciate a cute, highly amusing, and charming film. This is one for the family film collection.

Summary: My favorite guilty pleasure
Review: As a graduate student in history and a onetime Californian, Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure is my favorite guilty pleasure. I adore this movie.

Honestly, what's not to love? Two clueless but loveable high school guys from 1988 use a telephone booth that travels through time to collect historical figures for their history report. This goofy-sounding plot is pulled off so astonishingly well that you never stop laughing.

So, what about historical accuracy? I'm going to go out on a limb and say that as far as comedies parodying history go, this one stays remarkably true to the characters of the historical figures. While they don't get enough on-screen time -- their interactions with modern-day San Dimas and with each other are for me the best parts of the movie -- you still get to see occasional small flashes of what makes them tick. Freud is intellectually curious, Napoleon is megalomaniacal, Joan of Arc thinks Ted must be a part of God's plan, and Billy the Kid tries to fit in with Bill and Ted while subtly attempting to flirt with Joan. (If you don't believe me on that last bit, watch the scene where they're washing dishes together.) Of course, some lines are played purely for laughs, like Socrates's profound revelation, "Like the sands of the hourglass, so are the days of our lives." But those lines are rarely done at the expense of a character's integrity. And before you come down too hard on Lincoln ending his speech at the history report with "Party on, dude," remember that in real life, Lincoln was our wittiest president, a man who contemporaries say could never pass up a joke.

So for those of you who don't mind your history tinged with a bit of irreverence, watch, relax, and enjoy, because somehow this movie just comes together. With its fast pace and cheerful sense of fun, it's one of the best comedies there is.

Summary: What A Comedy!
Review: This was a good fun movie to watch. The movie was so funny, I Could not stop laughing. Starring Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter, it is about Two students who will fail History class if they don't get an A on there last project. They come along this guy named Rufus who gives them this time traveling telephone machine, which helps them get historical figures such as Abe Lincoln, and Joan Of Arc. They bring them to the report at the end and they get an A. This movie has funny lines and funny stupid things such as "Socrates" and "Iron Maiden". Released the 17th of February 1989, it grossed 40 million dollars. This movie is funny so I suggest you rent it or buy it.
