Review: Spaceballs is an entertaining and hilarious parody of Star Wars. This movie is probably Mel Brooks' best work yet. In a galaxy far away, the evil Dark Helmet (Moranis) and President Skroob (Brooks) planned to kidnap Princess Vespa (Zuniga) in a sinister plot to steal all the air from her planet. Only space hero Lonestar (Pullman) and his half/man-half/dog sidekick Barf (Candy) can rescue the Princess and save the planet. The story is very funny with plenty of good laughs and surprises. The Alien dancing in the diner is definately one of the funniest scenes of all time. I couldn't stop laughing. The cast is great. John Candy and Rick Moranis were hilarious and Mel Brooks' gives a great comic performance playing both President Skroob and the wise Yogurt. Spaceballs is a must-have comic masterpiece.

Summary: THE FUNNIEST MOVIE ON THE PLANET AS WELL AS ANY OTHER PLANET
Review: Spaceballs is the funniest movie that I have ever seen. I was introduced to it by one of my friends about two and a half years ago, and since then, I've rented it about eleven times, seen it twenty-three times, and after that, finally decided to buy it.

Get this movie, or at least give it a shot, even if it doesn't seem like your type of movie. I can guarentee you by 99.9% that it will be one of the funniest, if not the funniest movie you've ever seen.

You've got to believe me when I say that you'll like it even if you don't think it's your type of movie. My sister said she wouldn't watch it because she hates every space movie, and despises Star Wars. However, I finally got her to watch it, and after, she was sorry that she hadn't given it a try earlier. She laughed literally throughout 75% of the movie.

About how it relates to Star Wars:

It's got all your characters, but in different forms. There are the following characters in Space Balls, that relate to Star Wars:

Barf: He is a Mawg, half man, half dog. He represents Chewbaka, and is played by John Candy.

Dark Helmet: The equivilent to Darth Vader. He is played by the guy in Honey I Shrunk the Kids.

President Scroob: In a way he is like the emporer, and is played by Mel Brooks.

Lone Star: The movie's equivilent to Han Solo, except he has the movie's equivilent to the force, the shwartz, which I will later talk about, instead of Luke Skywalker.

Princess Vespa: Daughter to King Roland, king of the Druids on planet Druidia. She is the equivilent to Princess Lea.

Yogurt: Yogurt is Yoda in this movie, and he is the "keeper of a greater magic," the shwartz.

Shwartz: Dark Hemet has it, Lone Star has it, and Yogurt has it. It's the movie's equivilent to the force.

And I will just state the rest of the things that are depicted in this movie. These are: The Planet of the Apes, The Doublemint twins in the movie are Marlene and Sharlene. The actuall Doublement twins' names are Margie, Angie. Then you've got your Jawas. C-3PO is played by Dot, a women droid, Princess Vespa's droid of honor at her wedding. You've got the light-sabers, and Planet Tatooine. And the Death Star. All of this things are in the movie, plus many more, but in different forms.

I hope everbody who reads this review thinks about it seriously, and will see the movie, because I put a lot of time, effort, as well as heart and soul into this review, and you owe the movie that much. So, next time you rent a movie, seriously, consider Spaceballs.

Review: This title is sure to please if you are a fan of Mel Brooks. Slap stick never had a better slap! The only problem I found. is its in 2.0 surround. not 5.1, so the sound quality was not as good as it should be.

Review: Spaceballs is probably the best comedy I have ever seen. Playing off films like Alien, Star Wars, Star Trek, and Transformers. I've seen it many times on television and can't wait to see the un-cut, un-edited version and all the extra features!

Review: If I could have chosen to give this movie a 4.9 out of 5, it probably would have fit better even though This movie is one the best comedies of all time. The only other movies I would say that are ahead of it are one or two other comedies, and most of other movies like "Young Frankenstien" and "The History of the World Part I", but that's beside the point. This is a must for anyone who likes a good laugh. Mel Brooks is one of the most ingenius writer/director of all time, if the most ingenius. Him and his movies usually turn up to be a huge impact on almost every comic or comedic performance that ever is seen (or not seen for that matter) or even heard of. No comic can honestly tell you that he wasn't impacted by Mel Brooks, and this movie shows some of the reasons why they have always looked up to him. In other words, if haven't seen this movie, I advise that you either rent or buy or see it any way possible, but when you do, prepare to have your sides split.

Summary: Quite possibly my favorite movie of all time
Review: Although this movie won't appeal to everyone, I consider it to be a funny movie. If youre NOT into the whole star wars, star trek, futuristic space type of shows and movies but know enough about them, then this is the movie for you. The reason I say this is beause there are so many refernces to these types of movies and shows that if you are not familiar with them in any way, you'll easily miss half the jokes, and what fun it that? A great cast brings to life the brain child of one of the funniest writer/directors around. Defenatly worth a look!

Summary: The best spoof of science fiction ever.
Review: Director Mel Brooks makes this one of his best films since Young Frankenstein. I also like his another movies like Like Stinks, Robin Hood-Men in Tights, Blazing Saddles and Dracula-Dead And Loving It. Mel always had a great choice with his actors, he choose. Bill Pullman was the star of this film, also the same year in 1987, he star in Wes Craven`s The Serpent In The rainbow. Canadian Stars-John Candy and Rick Moranis, they have really great roles, Candy and Moranis seems, they have a great time in the making of this film. The scene where Rick put the ship in a very fast light speed is unforgetable. The scene with candy give this one of his best roles, also the same year in 1987 also, he star with Steve Martin in Planes, Trains and automobiles. Originally filmed in Super 35 but than changed to the ordinary 35 mm film. Grade:B+.

Summary: The funniest movie I have ever seen
Review: Mel Brooks' film Spaceballs is by far the funniest film I have ever seen. The first time I saw it I laughed intil my head ached, and unlike comedies in general, it is still funny after the 17th time I've watched it! Like other viewers, I can't wait for the DVD to come out so I can get rid of my old VHS version. From a character standpoint I think Rick Moranis makes the film. His role as Dark Helmet, an unparalleled parody of Darth Vader, tops off the hilarious insanity of the film like no other actor could. I think if you like the humor of such movies as Spielberg's 1941 you would love this. The jokes and parody of the Star Wars trilogy, along with the wildly crazy scene from Alien, really stand out. But what I think sets the tone for it more than anything is the atmosphere of the movie: total insanity to the point of raucous sillyness. To give you an example: There is a scene where Dark Helmet concludes one of his diabolical schemes in Vader fashion and pulls the front of his headpiece (a ridiculously over-sized version of Vader's with a flip up vizor in the front)down and the camera moves in for a sinister close up. But instead, Moranis runs into it and falls down!

Review: It's not as consistent as earlier Brooks works, it isn't the greatest SF spoof (see hitch hikers guide to the galaxy original radio series, Red Dwarf).

What I enjoyed most was trying to catch the references to other movies/TV series. I was especially happy to see the Betty's from Quark making an appearance. Quark (for those too young to know) was a TV series made by Brooks' old Get Smart co-creator Buck Henry. It should be released on video as it would show what Spaceballs was missing - believable characters. I mean Pizza-da-hut? All that for one lousy pun?
