Summary: Dysfunctional, disrespectful, dis Disney. Instead see Spirit
Review: I took my two boys, ages 5 and 7 to see "Lilo & Stitch" today. I wasn't expecting the usual Disney fare and boy was I right! No reedeming qualities whatsoever. I cringed MULTIPLE times in the first 30 minutes and, unfortunantly, the rest of the movie was ruined for me. Here are a few "high"lights from Screenit.com - a great place to visit if you care about what your young children see (I wish I would have looked there first, but it's DISNEY for crying out loud):
-Stitch sticks his tongue into his own nose, pulls something out with it, and then eats it.
-Lilo grabs, jumps on and punches another little girl (after the girl tells Lilo she's crazy), and seems to have a bad attitude about many things (due to her parents being dead and no one liking her).
- Nani (Lilo's older teenage sister) wears a midriff-revealing top.
- Stitch turns around and waves his rear at Gantu.
- Lilo tells David that Nani likes "your butt and fancy hair."
- Stitch knocks a girl off her bike so that he and Lilo can escape.
- Stitch throws a volleyball and hits a guy on the head.
- Stitch bites Jumba's arm (prompting Jumba to punch him) and then briefly swallows Pleakley's head.
- Stitch knocks over a table.
Well, you get the idea. My how Disney has fallen. Go see Spirit instead. Now THERE is an awe inspiring movie.

Summary: Lilo & Stitch, the best since Mulan.
Review: Experiment 626 is a little alien made by an evil proffeser. Lilo is a little girl, living with her sister Nani on a island in Hawaii. Eventually, they meet. Lilo adopts 626 as a dog, names him Stitch, and claims he was a collie before he got ran ova' by a truck. The social worker is trying to get Lilo away from Nani. Stich it spasing all over. Stich's creater is looking over Hawaii with a one eyed alien who thinks masquitos are indagerend species. Lilo & Stich is one of the best Walt Disney has come out with in a long long time. First of all, it's not a musical, unlike every other disney movie. It's an improvement over Disney's last two films Monsters INC and Atlantis, which basicly...stunk. Disney is on the right track with this one, creating possibly one of there best characters Stitch. Everything in this movie has been checked over and again, adding jokes from all ages. The movie can swith to a real tear jerker but the comedy is varied. For toddlers there's stich picking his nose with his tounge ( I know its wrong, but it only happens once) for older, with the social worker being called Mr. Bubbles, Cobra Bubbles. Preteen is Stitch spasm ways like creating on intire replica of San Frinciso and then destroying with with his own sound effects, etc...etc. Lilo and stich is the movie of the summer and I strongly suggest it, with the Elvis music and Sci-Fi action, its for everybody. Your gonna' wanna' see it a couple of times to pick everything up. Run, don't walk, no wait drive to Lilo and Stich you'll be happy you did.

Summary: Not As Good As What People Think
Review: I didn't enjoy Lilo and Stitch as much as most people. I remember my class saying they just had to see it and I remember thinking "Ugh, that looks so stupid." Then, I saw the commercials which looked weird as well. My parents, best friend, and I thought the movie would .... But, the night before it opened, I saw a sneek peek of it and I found out that it wasn't totally stupid. It taught about families, love, and caring. Still, when I went to see it it wasn't anything I liked a lot. But, still it had a good moral. I hope you have found this helpful. Thanks!

Summary: Best Disney Flick Since "The Lion King"
Review: Last summer Disney released "Atlantis: The Lost Empire," which was a riveting, action adventure. I thought Disney couldn't make a better movie than that. Then today I went to see "Lilo & Stitch." Wow. This movie is a triumph. The animation is, as always with Disney, beautiful. The voice acting is excellent. It's an excellent family film, meaning it really is for the entire family; 16-year-olds will love this too. Stitch is a very cool character. He's very unlike the other Disney characters we've seen. Go see this movie. You'll love it.

Summary: Terrific!
Review: I went with my 11 and 9 year old children. We all loved it. My 9 year old said it well, "It has happy and sad parts as well as scary and funny parts". What I liked about it was its wit and gentle humor. You don't have to be a kid to enjoy this wonderful movie. I will go see it again in the theater and will certainly purchase the DVD when available (We did get the DVD). The animation is quite good, the music is fun and refreshing and NOT overdone. The story is different than you might think (I went in the theater knowing NOTHING about Lilo and Stitch but what I had seen in the previews). I don't want to give anything away so you can enjoy everything about this film because there is a lot to enjoy on several different levels. I am very happy that I went to see this VERY fun film. ENJOY!!!!

Summary: Mahalo to All Involved in Spreading the Aloha of L&S
Review: Aloha ka~kou (Aloha to All of Us), Yesterday, with great anticipation -- yes, with bated breaths -- we, my husband and I who were born in Hawai`i fifty years ago and raised there, went to see LILO AND STITCH at our local theatre, hoping for its unmitigated success and yet knowing it could be yet another dirty bomb unwittingly directed against the Hawaiian culture. We were utterly impressed with LILO & STITCH's shining truth and loved and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the galactic high adventure and its down-to-Earth (literally) endearing story, brimming full of Aloha of the real, day-to-day variety, not the syrupy, touristy stuff. Having been raised with Disney movies, ourselves, we were delighted with its high caliber Disney feel and animation mastery, especially the stunningly gorgeous water-color visuals of our homeland. Co-directors Chris Sanders and Dean DeBlois and producer Clark Spencer bolstered our faith in the next generation of moviemakers. I dare say that they are uniquely enlightened young people, wise beyond their years. Certainly, this movie is not yet another run-of-the-mill, Hawaiian-themed fantasy that my generation has come to expect out of Hollywood. We've seen, rolled our eyes upward, and laughed at the ludicrousness of too many hurriedly slapped together movies based on deluded, overly-dramatized or white-washed, idealized visions and versions of Hawaiian culture and its people. Instead, it was clearly evident to us that the research that went into LILO AND STITCH was done with thoroughness, sincerity, concern and care. The result? A movie with a huge sensitivity, concern and Aloha for our endangered Hawaiian and local culture, which, with a combination of "attitude" and sweetness, captures the authentic spirit and genuine warmth, and inner and outer beauty of Hawai`i, especially its unique Aloha Spirit and valuing of `ohana (family). In its unique, far-reaching way, LILO and STITCH -- and Disney -- will help to perpetuate Hawaiian ways, beingness, and arts, as well as our one-of-a-kind local culture. I loved the snippets of pidgin, for most of us, our first language. Tia Carrere and Jason Scott Lee were perfect in their voice roles as Nani and Kawika (David). For a change, true locals playing local roles with every truthful and subtle nuance. Loving Hawaiian music as I do, I am particularly grateful for the inclusion of authentic Hawaiian musicianry: the mesmerizing, lively chants by real-life Hawaiian chanter, Mark Keali`i Ho`omalu, were right-on. The casting of real-life kumu hula (hula master)Kunewa Mook as the voice of the hula teacher in the movie was exactly pono (right and proper); his input on depicting hulas as it is actually danced, and not the swishy hula gibberish of past Hollywood movies was greatly appreciated by us, his peers. And singing by the Kamehameha Schools Children's Chorus -- you must have indigenous blood to go to school there -- could not have been truer or more delightful. Ahh.... I am going out to buy the CD ASAP! Of course, we grew up with Elvis' classic tunes, so we absolutely loved the resurrection of his songs as well as Wynonna's rendition of "Burning Love." A perfect balance to the Hawaiian music. Pono, which means not only right and proper, but balanced. We spotted only one glaring mistake: the shaka ("all is cool") sign as depicted in the movie at the end. They got the fingers right, but the way they did it, it's only half of the shakkah sign. As it was, it stopped as the Texas Longhorn symbol. Locals then swivel their wrist, 180 degrees, completing the local sign with the BACK of the hand toward the viewer. Oh well, as we say in Hawai`i: "Ain't no big t'ing, braddah" as the moviemakers can fix that faux pas for the video version. A big MAHALO (THANK YOU) to all involved, viewers included, who make LILO & STITCH the sharing movie it is. Spread the Aloha. Me ke Aloha...

Summary: Simply Enchanting
Review: Disney did a wonderful job with this animated movie. I live in Hawaii and it was very true to Hawaiian ways and even the shape of the people stayed true to our island. Stitch becomes a lovable character who relates well to adults and children alike. I loved this movie and can't wait to see it again. I look forward to owning it oneday. My sixteen year old daughter loved it too. Just go and see for yourself....

Summary: Down To Earth In More Ways Than One...............
Review: Finally - a Disney movie without a princess and her entitlement. This film is easily identified with in many ways. Lilo and Nani are my new heroines of choice. They are beautiful in unconventional ways. I love that they don't have "Barbie" figures. Also, they are financially strapped and fight the way real sisters might. Lilo acts out on her frustrations, Nani is overwhelmed, the social worker looms ominously, and love is always the undercurrent. The animation is so vividly colorful that it is actually emotional. I hope the audience won't be so used to the new 3-D animation that they can't appreciate the pure luminous beauty of the island settings. As for Stitch, my 3-year-old daughter was mesmerized by his actions. She laughed in all of the right places and empathized during the sad times. She has already acted out the movie several times with her playset figures. There is plenty of humor for the adults, too. The Mr. Bubbles storyline is funny and there are plenty of references that only us big kids will catch. This is something very different from Disney's other movies, but I totally enjoyed the fresh angles. They tackled an interesting culture, poverty, social misfits, and more with a wonderful approach. It may not be a marketing giant for them, but it will go on record as one of their best animated films.

Review: This movie was great! My wife, my three year old son, and I all went to see it and we all loved it! It was warm, very funny, very good story, and the animation was beautiful! I highly recommend this film for both adults and kids. It won't dissapoint.

Summary: Hilarious! You gotta see it!
Review: I attended a screening of Lilo and Stitch and loved it! It made me laugh and, yes, get a little teary eyed. Lilo and Stitch are not your ordinary Disney characters, yet their unique quirks make them extremely lovable. The humor in this movie is kind of twisted sometimes, which I loved. The backgrounds are gorgeous. The original Hawaiian songs are upbeat and fun, and the Elvis tunes rock. Adults will really enjoy seeing this one as much as kids. It's interesting that there are no real villians in this movie, everyone and everything about it is a winner. A great summer movie with a tropical flair!
