Summary: GREAT-GET THE DVD OF GODS AND MONSTERS
Review: An absolutetely wonderful film, especially if you get the DVD of "Gods and Monsters." which in iteself is also great. Commentaries by Condon, the director, and an "The Making of Gods and Monsters" which is very informative. Watch the DVD then see the movie, or see it again.

Summary: There Is NO Better!
Review: The Bride of Frankenstein is easily Universal Studio's best horror film. From the surreal backdrops to the final climatic scenes, this movie satisfies fans of all genres...not just horror. The pathos within the scene of the monster and the blind hermit, are potent lessons in emotion, while the obvious parallels of the monster and Christ are just as heart wrenching. Many argue that this film is Karloff's finest hour, but he did have the best of help in making the film the milestone it has become.

Ernest Thesinger as Dr. Pretorious, the amazing Dwight Frye as Karl and Una O'Connor as Minnie give their black humored lines with an edge that is unfounded in todays horror films...pure class in delivery. The work of these supporting players along with director James Whale, and make up artist Jack Pierce truly make The Bride of Frankenstein a major step above any other horror film made. It must be seen many times to appreciate all that is offered.

You must buy this video...I've since worn out three copies!

Summary: Should be in every classic movie collection!
Review: Quite simply, the definitive horror film, even surpassing the original "Frankenstein" (which was no slouch of a film). This one holds up so well after all those years. After many more years, you can bet it will still be viewed and admired, while many of the modern and "spectacular" horror films will be forgotten. This one combines true horror, pathos, and just the right touches of humor at just the right time. And if you get this film, you will double your appreciation for Mel Brook's wonderful and affectionate parody of the Frankenstein films -- "Young Frankenstein." A film for the ages... bring it back to life at least every Halloween!

Summary: A Sad Story
Review: A horror drama full of sadness. Karloff is elegant as always being a monster or not. And both Lanchester and O'Connor are great. Probably the best after the first Frankenstein. I saw it yesterday, I'm going to see it today, I'm going to see it always. Great!

Summary: All time classic- fantasy, horror, black comedy!
Review: Nobody has made a film as perfectly strange and wonderfull as this. I saw it as a child and just did not get it then. But now I notice the comedy and compassion James Whale was creating here. Karloff gives the best performance ever done in any horror film. Robert Deniro could not touch it in most recent version. If you've only remember this film from watching on T.V. as a child on some late night horror show, it is time to take another look at it, beleive me on this one. Far and away, more than just a typical horror movie. Whale was a true artist and it shows.

Summary: Delicious!!!
Review: This is probably the most entertaining movie that I have ever seen. It is actually FUN to watch. The original multi-monster movie with great characters and superb acting.

Summary: With this electrode, I thee wed...
Review: This is an excellent film, with special effects that I find very believable even by today's standards. And just for the heck of it there is a wonderful easy to follow story. Elsa becomes one of cinemas most lovely brides. Didn't they have any Academy Awards for hair style back then? This would make a fun double feature with either "Frankenstein" or "Hairspray." Summary: This film is one of the most talked about sequals.
Review: Karloff stars as the monster for the second time in this film that won an Academy Award for best picture. Elsa Lanchester stars as the bride whom Karloff forced Dr. Frankenstein (Colin Clive) to create. This is one of the best horror films ever made. I think Karloff makes a better performance in this film than in the original because he talks, drinks wine, and smokes cigarettes.

Summary: Best Horror Film
Review: This is one of the best "horror" films ever made. Director James Whale established many of the ways horror is still presented in cinema (with this and the original "Frankenstein"). Masterfully directed, loaded with great text and subtext. Fantastic performances all around, including Karloff as a sympathetic Monster. If you only look at one movie from this genre, Bride of Frankenstein is it.
