Rating: Summary: Angel not so Angel any more Review: What the hell happen. In this season of Angel everything changed and not for the better. Angel goes from being a mysterious defender of the innocent to a goofy little boy. Angel was way too happy 1/2 of the season I'm surprised he didn't lose his soul. The pairing of him and Cordelia was terrible. Every time he was around her he turned into a wimpy little boy in love. It didn't seem true to the charter. We have seen what Angel is like when he is truly in love and it was not not like when he was in love with Cordelia. Then there is the birth of Conner I was a bit surprised he didn't lose his soul. He was so happy with the little baby, but I guess the birth of his child wasn't as great as having sex. Angel also loses his mission, protecting people in need just doesn't seem so import to angel anymore, no wonder he's not the champion in the end. Angel just lets personal life get in the way of the mission. Cordelia was another disappointment in this season. She becomes less funny and more of the mother of the group. The whole her and angel love story line was not set up well at all and it just ruins her charter. It was great and true to her charter when she was with Groosalugg but with Angel it just didn't seem as good. Then Cordelia transcending to a higher state was terrible. If you look at her as a whole she doesn't deserve it. But I understand why it had to happen other wise season 4 would not be so wonderful without it.Next is the Gun and Fred relationship. It would have been good if you set it up right but to bad it wasn't. It was just slapped together and are just left to believe these two get together without any spacial moments shown. There was no set up at all. It's as if one day they just got together. The whole Holtz story line wasn't very inserting. It was very boring at times. His charter should have been more of a 2 ep instead of ½ of the season. There was only 3 good things in the season 1 Darla, 2 Lilah, and 3 Wesley. Darla was wonderful and her death was moving and very powerful. Lilah's charter got more in-depth. She was especially good in the ep "Billy" which was one of the best shows of the season. But the over best thing during the season was Wesley's change from a wimpy boy to a strong deep man. It's as if he and angel switch role this season. It was really great how Wesley was slowly being left out and become a loner in the group until he was completely kicked out. In all the season was not great but needed in order for season 4 to happen.
Rating: Summary: Amazing! Review: I really think season 3 was my favorite year of Angel. Each year has unique themes and story arcs, and different pacing. This wasn't the relaxed, meandering arc of season 2 (I loved Pylea, but it did feel way random), or the breakneck plotting of season 4 (where zero time passed between most episodes). Season 3 carefully set-up then knocked down (or raised up, literally) all of the characters. We see characters come together and drift apart and make choices about their lives based on their interactions with other characters. It's very natural, and sometimes completely devastating. This year really belongs to Wesley, the one-time comedy-relief Watcher who sinks into a world of betrayal, loneliness, and ethical dilemmas. Cordy and Angel also went through major changes this year, but it just couldn't compare to the complete breakdown and transformation of Wes, who is definitely the most well-written, well-rounded character in the Whedonverse. The only downside is the sickly sweet love between Fred and Gunn. Pancake kisses, ugh. Season 3 has great surprises - not the least of which is the jaw-dropping cliffhanger finale. It also has some great laughs for a show about a broody vampire: I sometimes think of cranky hamburgers when I go through the drive-thru. The extras are better than the previous two sets - the season 3 overview and the feature "From Page to Screen" were really informative. I feel like I learned a lot and very quickly about TV production and storytelling. The outtakes and screen tests were fantastic, especially seeing Fred and Wesley's deleted dance in "Waiting in the Wings." Jeez, and I though Wes danced bad in season 1's "She!"
Rating: Summary: Why? Why? Why? Review: I love this series! But Connor and Holtz were just two huge mistakes added to an otherwise perfectly coordinated cast. There were so many roads to choose and they chose poorly. Ugh. Charisma gets prettier and more interesting as Cordelia, and David is plump but still loveable as the unpredictable hero. The supporting cast does their best. But the first two seasons are definitely better! On a personal note, (and I have debated this issue with fellow 'fanboys' of the show), I find it unbelievable that Gunn would fall for Fred. I mean, she doesn't have much guts. Besides, if he's from "the hood", where the women are "tough" and "thick" (as they are portrayed in the house party sequence in season 2), then wouldn't Gunn find Fred kind of weak and hungry looking? Anyway, they make more than the unlikely pair. The writing here seems like a forced and fake reason to make Wesley 'lose it', thereby moving the story forward. Also, will someone please tell Andy Halett to please stick to acting, but keep the singing in the real karaoke bars of L.A. You're not that good, Andy. Please make it stop. However, getting this dvd was worth the money, if only to see Darla's character take a huge arch. That's mostly why, even after the gaping huge mistakes in the plotlines, I am still a fan of this show. I guess Joss Whedon was focusing on Firefly and let the writers get away from him. Oh well. Gotta keep your eye on the kiddies, Joss.
Rating: Summary: This season was good but the show itself ended bad Review: I loved this show and I wanna say that the Series finale sucked. The WB should gave the show a 2 hour season finale. Instead it just got an hour and that hour leaves more questions than it gave answers and just made you want more. Plus ened with Angel and all his buddies acting like they were gonna die as they were getting ready to fight a huge army of demons. Then the show just ended saying bye and Thanks ?? It bugged me because as I was getting ready for this huge battle they just ended it like that. So you have no idea who lives and who dies, but you get a thanks for watching for 5 years at least. Would've been nice if Sarah Michell Gellar made an appearence as Buffy as well. Guess she's too good for that though. I mean she is making Oscar worthy Scooby Doo movies now after all lol. I think this show easily could've went on for another 2 years. I'm going to really miss it and I hate how it ended. Anyway season 3 was the best one like Season 3 of Buffy was the best one. When Angel had a quick fling with Darla in season 2 he got her pregnant. She has their son Connor and then dies. Connor is eventually taken by Wesley who thinks Angel will harm the baby. Connor is then stolen from Wesley and taken into a portal. He comes back from the portal as a teenager. He was trained to hate vampires and of course he hates his father. Angel trys his best to gain his love but to no revail. Angel gets framed for the murder of who Connor accepts as his real father "the guy who took him from Wesley". So that doesn't go well of course and Connor betrays Angel as the season ends. The season ends wanting you to know what happens next and it's too bad that the series ends the same way. I want more and we're not gonna get more.
Rating: Summary: Angel season 3 left me in anticipation for season 4. Review: I loved season 3 on DVD. I laughed at times and sad at other times. Season 3 kept me very interested. I looked forward to watching it everyday coming home from work. The ending of this season was incredible with Cordelia unable to accomplish what we all wanted her to do. Angel was left in a bind, you know he couldnt get himself out of, on his own. Knowing no one knew where he was. Season 3 was awesome. I have been looking forward to season 4. I hope season 4 is released on DVD soon this year. I just heard the series is being cancelled by WB. What in the world are they thinking? Why would they do that? Its not fair. I hope another network picks up the show and continues the story. I am disappointed the show has been cancelled after 5 seasons. Season 3 was great. Keep on fighting the mission Angel!
Rating: Summary: SUPERB SEASON 3 Review: Season 3 is really good, has brilliant episodes, and good story lines. Not sure if the menus and extra special features are the same, as mine is a UK Region 2. Wow you people in the US are a bit behind, we have already released season 4 angel like 4 months ago
