Summary: An Entertaining Musical Sci-fi Comedy!
Review: "Earth Girls Are Easy" is a musical sci-fi comedy about valley-girl Valerie (played by Geena Davis) living in 1980's Los Angeles, and who is engaged to a cheating, boyfriend doctor named Ted (played by Charles Rocket). Catching her boyfriend at home playing with a nurse, the disgruntled Valerie gets the surprise of her life when a spaceship crash lands in her swimming pool. The spaceship's crew (played by Jeff Goldblum, Jim Carrey and Damon Wayans), haven't had any "shore leave" in a long time. Not wanting to cause too much of a stir, Valerie takes the alien trio to her best friend Candy (played by Julie Brown) who owns a beauty salon. After Candy transforms the furry trio into believable human males, Valerie finds their captain, Mac (Jeff Goldblum), very attractive. Wild things happen when the alien trio are taken to a dance club and letting them drive in California traffic!

The fact that this film is also a musical only adds to the humor as there are several original songs by Julie Brown!

If you enjoy remembering the excesses of the 1980's and New Wave music, you will probably enjoy this film!

Summary: Is There Another Earth Somewheres...?
Review: ....I agree with what the other reviewers have said already. I bet director Julien Temple did not know the greatness he had when he was at the helm here. Geena "The Body" Davis, Jim "PlasticMan" Carey, Damon "Don't Play Dat" Wayans, Jeff Goldblum. They have a fun romp in what could only be taken as a good time film. It is good enuff to garner a SY2255 review...

Summary: The Greatest Cinematic Acheivement Of All Time...
Review: Alright, maybe not. But I can't think of a movie I love more. The parody of all things 80's is hilarious to those of us who suffered through them, though at times it's a tad heavy-handed (I mean, the exotic fish named Mercedes, Beamer, Aston & Martin is a bit...well, heavy-handed). But Geena Davis is cute and funny as a sweet, airheaded manicurist. Julie Brown is hilarious. Julie Brown is ALWAYS hilarious. Jeff Goldblum doesn't say much and is very, very sexy as a shaved alien. Of course, everyone knows that Jim Carrey & Damon Wayans were in this before In Living Color made them into stars. Both are very, very funny. Jeff Goldblum is much more a straight man, but this movie left me with a crush on him that I still have.

This movie is a great send-up of all things 80's, especially the SoCal sex comedies and beach flicks. Someone said that they thought this movie was supposed to bring back musicals. I don't think so. It's too quirky and too strange (I mean, the salon Geena Davis & Julie Brown work at is called "Curl Up and Dye" for gods sake). I don't think it was made to be a blockbuster. It is, however, a really good time. Julien Temple is marvelous with film visuals, and the silly, sexy humor is lots of fun. Get this movie. It's a treat not to be missed.

Summary: Ah yes, the 80s
Review: As I sat down to be exposed to Earth Girls are Easy for the first time, I prepared myself for some of the most painful cinematography known to man. Little did I know, I was about to be exposed to one of the most delightfully entertaining and funny movies I have ever seen.

Geena Davis, Jim Carey, Jeff Goldblum and Damon Wayans took a script destined for disaster and somehow created a masterpiece in its own right. The aliens, the musicals, the outlandish props and stupid plot all combined to create one amazingly entertaining movie. It is amazing to see the actors that I mentioned when they were much younger and barely known in the industry, and to see them take such a weird movie to such a high level really displays their raw talent and shows why they eventually make it so big in the industry.

I would highly recommend this movie to anyone wanting to see or show something different, bizarre and totally fun. It certainly is not an ordinary or normal movie, but then again, it was the 80s.

Review: But hey, sometimes that's just what you need. Great price - why not buy it? I did...

Summary: Colorful cheesy 80's flick, but still fun to watch
Review: Earth Girls are easy is about 3 aliens from outer space who are looking for "action" and find it on earth, in the middle of California's San Fernando Valley. Jim Carrey, Damon Wayans, and Jeff Goldblum star as the 3 hairy beasts and Gina Davis stars as the woman who's home they crash land on. They meet at her home and her and her friend shave em' and make them look human, Gina Davis begins to fall for Jeff Goldblums alien character despite her Mr. Wrong fiance and the cheesy but funny misadventures begin from there.
Now although this is entertaining and a good way to kill an hour and a half, it is by no means a well made film. The "musical" portion of this movie feels tacked on and useless. A real musical like "Little Shop of Horrors" has songs throughout. This one has 3 (one laughably dumb number by Gina Davis' character, another instrumental by the 3 hairy aliens, and the third by a dumb blond singing about dumb blonds at the beach). Some of the camera work seems like something shot from an amateur, giving the film a very low budget cheese feel. Thirdly, if I was a blond, I'd be kind of offended by this, b/c this film is constantly bashing them, valley girls at least.
There are a few good things about this though. Jim Carreys character is cute and fun to watch for one. Another is the scene at the club where Damon Wayan's alien character does a dance showdown with some Slick Rick. One other scene I really like in particular is Gina Davis' dream sequence, it was dark and very artistic with a good score to boot.
Overall, this one is simply cute, I wouldn't recommend paying full price for this just for its replay value. If you can turn your brain off, you might enjoy this one.

Summary: This must be based on a true story
Review: Faced with all kinds of problems from infidelity to broken nails Valerie's (Geena Davis) troubles have just began as aliens invade her pool.
They say that truth is stranger than fiction. This movie is awfully strange so it must be true. The "out of the area" visitors were easy to keep track of when they were color-coded. The songs were great and relevant.
All of the main actors went on to bigger and I guess you can say better movies. Another early Jim Carrey movie is Once Bitten (1985) ASIN: 0792842421. The best Julie Brown movie is Out There (1995) ASIN: 6303965954, where she describes certain alien appendages as being curved like the space-time continuum.
This is one of those movies that you may want to put on again in the background. And look up in time for your favorite parts.
