Rating: Summary: Best of the DBZ Movies Review: "The World's Strongest" is probably the best of the Dragonball Z movies for several reasons. Most significantly, characters who are entirely comic relief or nonexistent in the later movies, such as Kame-Senin ("Master Roshi") and Kuririn("Kryllin"), get a chance to have some halfway decent action of their own. Moreover, the threat they face is considerably different from their standard "super-buff martial artist from another world/dimension", and while of course the problem will have to be solved by standard Dragonball Z [fighting], the solution will not be as easy as they first think, and the problem has some complications.
Rating: Summary: Pioneer Knows What They're Doing! Review: Anyone wonder how the dub of DBZ would be if the show landed in better hands? Nows your chance. For one reason or another, Pioneer ended up with the rights to the first 3 DBZ movies (Instead of FUNimation), and the end results speak for themselves! This thing just screams quality! The dubbing is good, and very close to the original Japanesse script (FUNimation NEVER came close to being on the dot)! The music is left untouched, and you even get to hear the ORIGINAL theme song! After hearing this it's hard to think kind of the American theme songs and score. Not to mention the DVD has better picture quality then the FUNimation releases! Folks, I don't know if buying enough of these means Pioneer will be able to dub more DBZ (Although it won't likely ever happen again), but it's nice to have a company know what they're doing for once! Get this DVD...and see dubbed DBZ the way it should have all along!
Rating: Summary: The better of the group Review: Ok, this is better. This movie is one of my faves. It has some very funny scenes, and cool fight scenes. The ending was very A+! Gohan expresses more of his power in this one. The only reason I gave it a 4, instead of a 5 was that horrible laugh. Anyway, worth a buy. It isn't something you would pay (***) though.
Rating: Summary: World's Strongest Review: This movie is a great movie. Probablly 7th best out of 13 Movies there are better ones out there. I really like the job Pionneer did with the dubbing I thought it was soo cool how they had all the so called bad words or swearing in it and its not just the "HELL" word either. This a great movie UNCUT and CUT. A great addition to a DBZ Movie Collection.
Rating: Summary: The 3rd DBZ-movie in the series ! Review: I liked this anime'-type of movie alot ! This is indeed one of the best I have seen yet !! However, its not as good as the UNCUT Japanese-version . There are probably a few scenes cut out of this U.S. version due to FUNIMATION and SABAN companies . FUNIMATION just had to ruin an exellent masterpiece done by Akira(the creator of DBZ)and turn it into a kiddie show ! GEEZ ! To be quite honest with you, I am against those censor companies such as FUNIMATION due to the bull they have to add in to other peoples work ! In my opinion, it ruins it that way . Why buy the dubbed/edited version, when you could buy the uncensored/undubbed Japanese version(with subtitles)? But anyways, its still an outstanding work of art mixing the best of adventure, action, and special-effects !! The thrills are non-stop in this one ! The storyline of this takes place in the mountains, where an evil-scientist in a secret laboratory is trying to ressurect the darkening, evil of DR.Willow(another evil scientist whom died a long time ago) By bringing life to his brain . Willow now wants to conquer the planet by stealing the strength of the strongest fighter in the world . He then kidnaps Master Roshi(with the help of his sabaimen)thinking that he is the strongest . Gohan and Krillen must then try to save Roshi by infiltrating the mad-scientists hideout . But it soon turns out that only Gokuu is the worlds-strongest so all 3-fighters from the Z-team square-off against the deformed-scientist to save not only Bulma and Roshi, but the entire world ! If your a hardcore-fan of DBZ or DBGT etc. check this one out !
Rating: Summary: "Kaio-Ken!!" Review: First of all, the characters such as Goku, Gohan, Piccolo, Master Roshi, Oolong, Krillin, Chi-Chi, Turtle, and even the Eternal Dragon do not have the same voices as those in the series. For example, Goku has a more high-pitched voice, Shenron (The Eternal Dragon) has a very deep and scratchy voice, and so does Piccolo, that's kind of weird, but it's no biggy to me. Dr. Wheelo was cool, but Dr. Kochin was a real weirdo, he laughed like he was having a stroke or something. I don't understand why Dr. Wheelo wants Goku's body so much, I mean if I were him I'd just keep the metal shell that I was given. He's really powerful and Goku uses the Kaio-Ken and Spirt Bomb at the end to defeat Dr. Wheelo. And another thing, in the version that I have, Krillin quotes: "DAMN!! Dr. Wheelo's power is still increasing!" And Dr. Kochin quotes: "Damn, get them" and "What the hell do you think you're doing." And also Dr. Wheelo quotes "What the hell are you doing" or something like that, and just before he dies he yells: "DAMN YOU GOKU!!" I would strongly recommend this movie to ages 13 and up. Because of the mild language. Or at least ages 10 up. Oh well, that's the way it was made I guess. I can't wait until the movie with Cooler comes out on video, Cooler is Frieza's brother, and he's awesome. Anyway, I enjoyed the movie a lot, my favorite part is when Goku, Krillin, and Gohan battle the Bio-Warriors. And there is comedy as well. Master Roshi also battles the Bio-Warriors, but loses quickly. Gohan, as we all may know, unleashed his hidden power when he found out that Dr. Wheelo was controlling Piccolo's mind to kill Goku. This energy charge smashes back the wall in which Dr. Wheelo's brain is contained. Let me explain. In the beginning of the movie, Dr. Kochin summons Shenron to revive Dr. Wheelo. Dr. Wheelo had been killed in an avalanche 50 years ago. Only his brain is alive. But Dr. Kochin is actually a robot. Anyway, so now Dr. Wheelo wants Goku's body so he can take over the world. As we know, he does not succeed and he ends up getting blown to smithereens. Piccolo is also captured in the beginning after fighting Dr. Wheelo's minions, who look like a cross between Cell's Imperfect form and the Saibamen. All in all, if you want awesome Dragon Ball Z entertainment, then buy the World's Strongest.
Rating: Summary: See a real fight. Review: This Dvd is great. It contains movie clips of some of the series and some other movies which are fantastic. The movie itself is very good but don't expect a surprise within the average plot. I don't want to sound too negative as this is a good movie and the fighting sequences are ten times better than the series so if its fighting you want, this is for you.
Rating: Summary: World's Strongest Review Review: If u want to buy a quality Dbz movie i'd suggest this one. There is action, thrill, and power obbsession all in one neat little package. If u miss out on this you truely aren't a dbz fan. The animation in this is truely amazing and the dubbing is suberb. I gave it 4 stars which it earned. Now the story line is weak but if your like me i say screw story line show me hardcore battle sequences. By now every true dbz fan should know all dbz is about is fighting. I love this movie and suggest it for a dbz fan to add to there collection. You'd be a fool to miss out on this. Buy it or i'll send you to another dimension
Rating: Summary: Bryce's review Review: Plot: The World's Strongest is about when Oolog and Gohan see all 7 of the dragonballs together on the dragon radar and go looking for them but when Oolog and Gohan get close to the dragon balls they see an evil scientist awakening the dragon and wishing for the dragon to free his evil master, Dr. Willow. While the dragon is freeing Dr. Willow all of the mountains cave in, trapping Gohan and Oolog. Later, Piccolo finds and rescues them. When Oolog tells Bulma what happened, Bulma freaks out, and Dr. Willow's henchmen kidnap Bulma and Master Roshi and ask them to tell them who is the strongest being on the earth. Naturally, they say Goku is. So Dr. Willow kidnaps Goku, because in an explosion Dr. Willow was blown to pieces and the only part of him that survived was his brain. So he was looking for the strongest body he could find because he knew the best brain combined with the strongest body would be unstoppable. In order to get Goku in a weak state he hypnotized Piccolo and sent all of his henchmen after Goku. Goku, with the help of his son, Gohan and his friend, Tien, tries to defeat Dr. Willow. Gohan gives a fatal energy blast, Goku gives a few small energy blasts, and Tien gives a few punches. Together they defeat Dr. Willow. Review: This is one of the best DragonballZ movies.
Rating: Summary: KAIO-KEN! Review: There is nothing more to say about this movie than.....BRILLIANT! No matter what the situation is, Goku and company is there to stop it. After Master Roshi and Bulma were kidnapped by Dr. Wheelo (or how ever you spell his name), Goku and friends did not delay to save them. This has to be the best out of the 3 movies! Oh and if you were to see anything...you have to see the Jap.version. I think it's a lot better. You'll be amazed what Japan gets away with like in the Frieza saga, Frieza gets away with some curses oh and theres actually blood....thats right...BLOOD! Oh well. So as I was saying, this is the best one out of the 3 and don't forget about the 4th one coming out! Well...peace!
