Rating: Summary: Silly, somewhat slapstick, but still, HILLARIOUS! Review: Eddie Murphy is just so lovably funny as "Sherman Klump," a beach-ball shaped college professor who is exceedingly polite - and intelligent - yet lacks confidence, due to his poor body image. In the movie, Klump devises a potion that will alter his DNA and transform him into a super-sleek, latex-clad lover-boy who goes by the name of "Buddy Love," (ALSO played by Murphy), to win the affections of an attractive new teaching assistant. The movie gets a bit "obnoxious" at times, but all in all, it's good laugh-out-loud fun, with an important message at the end about accepting ourselves as we are. (Just the way Murphy handles the role of Klump with such humorous perfection, makes the movie worth seeing)!
Rating: Summary: Isn't It Illegal To Make Movies This Bad? Review: Eddie Murphy could have done a much better job in terms of picking a movie to star in. All this movie does is put down overweight people, make African-American people look like we have no table manners, and wastes your money. Folks, I think they're coming out with another Rambo.
Rating: Summary: Fabulus, wonderful, fabulus movie Review: Great! hercules, hercules, hercules. thanks megashake, i lost 300 pounds in 30 secs.
Rating: Summary: Is fat funny? Review: What a funny movie! I'm not usually an Eddie Murphy fan but this movie was hilarious! Murphy was hilarious both as the professor and Buddie Love. I loved the message in the movie about self-acceptance but it's sort of annoying to see an obese person portrayed as insecure. I would love too see a movie with a secure, well-adjusted overweight person. It takes a radical transformation for Sherman Klump too realize that he should accept himself the way he is. While this is certainly a humourous way for him too accept himself it is very frustrating too obese people.
Rating: Summary: Sherman Klump Every Bit As Good as Buddy Love Review: Eddy Murphy's remake is inspired genius. Without walking all over the indelible perfection of Jerry Lewis' original, Murphy recasts the nutty prof in 1990s terms and with technological advances. Two words: See it! Oh, yeah, don't forget to see the Jerry Lewis version. I give both 5 stars out of 5!
Rating: Summary: eddie deserves two oscars Review: not only with the many characters that he pulled off but his main character being so solid.this film was funny and sad all at once.it deals with many issues that always subtly or openly crop up in eddie films.i loved the richard simmons spoof.he is a great actor and more than just a funny man.

Rating: Summary: Extremely Funny Review: The best and funnist comoedy of the decade (90s) great movie, two thumbs up.
Rating: Summary: Should not be allowed in an intellegent society! Review: This movie is incredibly offending. I am a 19 year old fat chick, and I think that portraying a fat individual as totally unhappy until they become "magically skinny" (like so many diet ads!) when their life turns around, is just rediculous. To turn a real problem into some little farce for your ammusement is horrible! Being fat is the last accepted prejudice in america. I read an analogy which likened it to a movie starring John Goodman, in which he first appears in blackface and is miserable, but then when he washes it off, and becomes white again, his life is perfect! Now, if a movie was created with that premise, rights organizations would be all over it! Certain groups would stage rallies outside of theatres and it would be banned in most places. Why, then, is it alright to do this same exact thing to fat people? And you find that all over society. This movie just brings it into the open. It also allows another generation of kids to get the message that fat is funny. Fat is bad. Fat is ugly. Fat is something to be mocked. If you're fat, you can't be smart. Come on, guys. Why would you want to perpetuate this mentality? Lets let movie companies know how offending material of this sort is! Don't waste your time on this peice of garbage.
Rating: Summary: One of Eddie Murphy's best. Very funny Review: A remake of the old Nutty Professor movie with is own twist on the original theme. Eddie played no less than six different characters, from his mother to white exercise "guru" with complete ease and it still beats me why his name wasn't even mentioned for an acadamy award. One of the best comedy I have seen since "Blazing Saddles" a must see.
