Summary: Classic Sandler
Review: Mr Deeds is Adam Sandler as we know and love him. It's got some hilarious one-liners that you'll be repeating for days to come and there is the usual funny and outragous cast of sidekicks to help our hero on his way. (I especially like "Crazy Eyes" )

This isn't a deep philospophical movie but it is sweet and has a good theme. A must see for people who love Adam Sandler.

Summary: Stupid! Boring! Less than 1 Star!
Review: There was barely a plot. The highlight was the buttler. He stole the show. "He is sneaky that way" Otherwise it was soooo boring.

I enjoyed the previews much more than the actual movie.

Summary: Missed opportunity for a G-rating
Review: This could have been an excellent G movie. It missed some wonderful opportunities because of the foul launguage, and a scene or two. The humor was zany and hilarious. It would have been appreciated by many kids. Too bad...

Summary: Sappy & Funny - Perfect Post 9/11 Hollywood
Review: sappy and sentimental mr. deeds is the new everyman. here sandler plays a character who is basically just a good guy. when hollywood was looking for the kind of movie that eschewed the hbo-style cynicism and hip snideness, they must have taken one look at this movie and said, booyah! i was expecting a bit more of the 'big daddy' sandler and was surprised to see him so *nice*. it's really a mix of the 'big daddy' character and the 'waterboy' character, which makes for a really good mix. honest, but not to a fault.

there's not much to say about the plot, everything that you think will happen happens, but it's enjoyable all the same. it's a mush movie with balls. not too smart, not too smarmy. just right. is it funny? yeah. even the thing with the foot that you've seen 100 times is still funny. all of sandler's timing works just right in the film and there's never a moment when he's on screen that you're bored watching him *try* to be funny. he just is, as are a couple other characters.

you wouldn't think that a lighthearted romantic comedy could be made in the new new york, but this is it. go see it.

Summary: Keep them coming Adam!
Review: Mr. Deeds, a great movie, is a about a man named Deeds. His uncle, Preston Blake, leaves him 40 billion dollars when he dies. Deeds then goes to NYC and meets a girl, Babe. I don't want to ruin the movie so go see it many, many, times! You'll love it!

Summary: Mr. Deeds is an average movie, but worthy of being seen
Review: Well, this movie is probably going to get criticized quite a bit for being no "Mr. Deeds Goes To Washington." Still, there are positive things about this movie that I found refreshing.

One of these was the acting of Adam Sandler. He is refreshing in his role as a "good" guy, who acts kindly when he inherits a wad of money from an uncle he didn't even know. I think his good guy persona made the movie more of a "feel good" movie than most of his recent movies have done. He is the misportrayed hero that the leechers of sensational television have made out to be their enemy.

Another great aspect of this film was the some of the supporting cast. Both Steve Buscemi (Crazy Eyes) and John Turturro (Emilio) are hilarious in their roles. Crazy Eyes is always confusing people and situations (for instance, he orders an oreo pizza), while Emilio is "sneaky" (coming out of nowhere) and has a secret foot fetish.

I think that the basic idea of the movie is that one should do good for society. The movie, perhaps, is a bit simplistic and probably fails in comparison to the original, but there are certainly qualities to enjoy. Many of the scenes and subplots are typical Adam Sandler (people getting beat to a pulp, beating the "bad" corporations with kindness, getting the girl of his dreams after a misunderstanding, the zany Rob Schneider character, etc), but I think it is a movie that should be viewed.
