Summary: Fantabulous
Review: This was an excellent movie plain and simple. It made me laugh and cry- it brings out the best and the worst of the sometimes hedonistic culture of GAY MEN. It is a beautiful love story about two young men finding a "place" to respect each other and growing to attract each other! In one word- Fabulous! BUY IT now!

Summary: Perfectly charming
Review: Want a great gay romance with some humor, a little angst, and a bit of heat? Try "Trick." The guys are cute, the characters are all appealing, and the story is literate without being overly artsy. It's a down-to-earth story about two men who are trying to connect sexually and end up connecting emotionally. Very satisfying on all counts.

Summary: When is a Trick more than a Trick
Review: Everything about this film is funny. It's name suggest that the film will be more radical than it turns out to be but it is fun and in the end, even straights might find themselves looking for a Trick.

Summary: One of the best gay films in years..
Review: Finally, a gay movie that isn't depressing, isn't preachy, doesn't take a stand on anything at all, really. It's just pure fun - something straight people have gotten in "their" movies for decades.

I won't re-cap the plot, as it's been done a hundred times already. I will say that if you're looking for a movie that is light-hearted yet serious, cute without being cliche, and with a great cast of lead and supporting characters, you can't go wrong. Tori Spelling is great - something that is also echoed by other friends who have purchased the movie.

So far, every one of my friends who has seen the movie has also purchased it (and the soundtrack)! Definitely one for the permanent collection.

Summary: A delightfully entertaining film
Review: Unlike most 'gay movies', TRICK doesn't attempt to preach or make some "big statement". It's jsut a nice film about a typical kid in a big city (well, New York may not be a 'typical' city, but despite the stereotype, not all gay kids in NYC are millionaires) who catches the eye of a Go-Go Boy in one of the local dance clubs.

It's a "date film", and after meeting up, the two boys try to find a place to get cozy & intimate with each other. There's no more 'sex' here than you'll find in any straight-couple movie , and I guess it shows that, when all's said 7 done, gay dating isn't a whole lot different than straight dating.

While I suspect that most people reading this have already seen the film at least once, I won't ruin the ending for those who have not -- except to say that you'll be glad you wtched the whole film.

Not a classic or a masterpiece, but a big breaktrough for gay films; gay boys are not wierd--in fact, the boy next door might be one. Happy viewing!

Summary: A simple beautiful love story without a "soapbox."
Review: The charm of this movie is that it is a simple and beautiful love story without the "soapbox" that so many gay stories climb on to. The two main characters are easy on the eyes, the score is fun and Steve Hayes and Clinton Leupp add just the right amount of comedy.

Summary: Reach out and touch somebody's hand.
Review: At last, a film with a romantic view and with charming, hilarious, characters. This one shows us a study of the psychology of different gay guys. Mark (John Paul Pitoc) resembles a gigolo, but is an adorable go-go boy; its non-verbal communication is excellent, too. Gabriel (Christian Campbell) is a sensible, timid and symphatetic boy. Katherine (Tori Spelling) is hysterical in all senses, suffers a panic episode only of thinking she will be a lesbian,(remember Almodovar's films characters in its nervous breakdown!). Steve Hayes as Perry is fabulous singing "Como te gusta mi pingle" its theatrical encounter with his ex-lover is comedy in its best performance. I can't forget the Woman on the Subway with his wide eyes opened in a homophobic attitude to Gabriel when she observes him to make eyes to Mark. Clinton Leupp as Miss Coco Peru, the drag queen, seems as captured from "Priscilla Queen of the Dessert", that delicious comedy. Its performance as the gossip, frustrating old, but exuberant queen is one of the best of the film. To recapitulate, this is a comedy full of good performances with a staff of professional actors that capture the nature, attitudes and way of life of different persons that are near you; lovers, friends, neighbors, a family and may be you too, so reach out and touch, somebody's hand. Enjoy!

Summary: Oh! L'Amour,L'Amour! ...Trick Is A Blast!
Review: When I recieved the DVD of Trick about a week ago I was not expecting too much (thank God for region1 converted DVD players!) But when I put it on I was completely blown away!.Never before since the likes of Torch Song Trilogy,Longtime Companion or Love!,Valour!,Compassion! have I enjoyed a "Gay" film. This one had no heavy message themes, angst, comming out traumas just a good, old fashioned feel great story.Christian Campbell was just perfect as Gabriel, slightly geeky, slightly unsure, slightly clumsy and a bit low on self confidence..but totally sweet, cute endearing.perfect! He reminded me of what I am like especially when I'm "weak in the prescence of beauty"..just perfect! What could be said of JP Pitoc?...OH MY GOD! he has type of cool, sexy looks and body that keep their secrets well,I mean, at their initial meeting on the subway Mark seem almost predatory, next time you watch this film have a good look in his eyes in this scene and you'll see what I mean. However by the end of the film he opens up to Gabe, becomes vulnerable, and thru out the film he becomes increasingly warmer and loving towards Gabe (yeeha! ) and the Kiss at the end had me crying and cheering for our two heros(wonderful!).Both Cristian and John Paul are talents to watch and admire!.What can I say about Tori Spelling? just when I was about to chuck her in the 90210 garbage can as a no talent try-hard,she gives me a double barrell blast of talent as Katherine Lamberg( Hi,I'm Katherine Lamberg,I'm an Actress)Tori just stole so many scenes and especially the Greasy Spoon Restaurant scene was just too,too hysterical, but underneath it there is a deeper meaning to Katherine, and it becomes obvious that Gabe is the man she loves but cannot have....As for the remainder of the supporting cast Steve Hayes...fabulous as Perry, Clinton Leupp as Miss Coco Peru(have you ever got come in eye.. umm?..it buuurrrns!)just incomparable!,Lori Bagley as Gabes

roommate,Rich, ditzy but suprisingly on so ditzy girlfriend Judy and Brad Beyer as Rich, the horny roommate, all coupled with the New-York (I love you,New-York!)background,terrific soundtrack and you have the perfect, uplifting, feelgood,go out and get 'em sort of film that you just got to have in your collection! See It,Love It,Buy It!

Summary: finally, one for the rest of us
Review: a great feel good flick. love at first sight, not quite, but a good story that touches the heart and makes you believe that there really might be someone out there for each of us.

Summary: Good
Review: Jim Falls did a good job in making a feel good gay movie. Much like "Beautiful Things", the sentiment was clear, its hard being gay and finding a meaningful relationship. Or any relationship. Christain and John Paul did a good job as well. They were loveable and they convinced me to care whether the characters got together.
