Summary: Smart Blondes of the World Unite!!
Review: Dumb, conceited, aloof, snobbish, complete airhead. These atrocious remarks are usually associated with women who have blonde hair, high intellectual capacities and good looks. I adore this movie because although tremendously exaggerated, it points out the stereotypical conflicts that smart blondes in today's society have to (and CAN!!) overcome.
The movie is great for all audiences because it has a wonderful moral, and is entertaining for adults as well as children. Most people are reluctant to see this solely because of its title, but 99% of the time they end up liking it. Although at first glance it seems that this movie will be like another pointless, teen movie, Reese Witherspoon sells it remarkably well, as she always does. I could watch this movie eighty seven times and would still not get sick of it due to its originality and all around appeal. It is a feel-good movie that is definitely worth every penny of your precious money!

Summary: Two Thumbs Way Up!
Review: Reese Witherspoon gives a great performance as Elle Woods, a popular and pretty sorority girl, who can be slightly ditzy at times. She's certain Warner, her boyfriend, is going to propose to her, but, instead, he dumps Elle because he thinks she's too immature and dumb.Determined to get Warner back, Elle decides she wants to join Harvard law school, where he's studying, hoping that he'll realize she is smart enough to be his wife. Shockingly, Elle gets accepted into Harvard and moves in to one of the dorms on campus (along with her adorable, pink-clad Chihuahua, Bruiser), but there's a problem. Warner already has another girlfriend. I was really surprised at how entertaining and amusing this movie was! I figured it was going to be another stupid, boring teen movie, but it surpassed my expectations. An added bonus on the DVD is the deleted scenes (nearly ten). I highly recommend Legally Blonde to people of all ages!

Summary: A dash at Harvard
Review: A different version of Clueless, Reese Witherspoon seems to fit right into the character of Elle, a portected, rich blonde who gets whatever she wishes. When her boyfriend dumps her, Elle cannot sit back and watch, she follows her loved one to Harvard, where she is the red spot. The film is wonderful, the first time I saw it was on the computer, I had downloaded it from Kazaa, despite the poor resolution and tiny scree, I fell in love with Elle and her dog

Review: Believe you me, this is not just another teen movie. It's underlining theme tells of the importance of having good morals & intentions. That one should never judge a person just because of his or her race, creed or actually...hair color. =0) We rented this movie, much to my boyfriends dismay - but you know what... he liked it! (Don't tell him I told you that..) This really is a good movie! Light hearted and funny.
An honestly... this day in age.. what more can you ask for? Reese picked a good one. You should definately pick this one too!

Summary: Smart and funny with a heart
Review: This is a terrific movie -- I first saw it in the theater and I hadn't laughed that much at a comedy, or enjoyed one that much, since "My Best Friend's Wedding." I went to HLS and I was really surprised by how much the film got right -- yeah, it's a little exaggerated for the movies but most of it's dead-on. The place was ripe for a send-up like this (something to make us forget the awful C. Thomas Howell movie "Soul Man") and nobody does it better than Elle. The scene near the beginning where she meets her little advising group on the lawn? Funny, but even funnier because all of those people are only about one Hollywood-notch up from the truth. This could have been a mean-spirited movie, but it's not. I liked that we get to see Elle's kindness coming through as her most notable trait -- she's just really likable, and you feel for her when she goes from BWOC in L.A. to the fish out of water in Cambridge. Selma Blair does a nice job as an insecure classmate (and Elle's former boyfriend's new fiancee) who hates everything Elle stands for and is out-and-out mean to her until she figures out they have more in common than not. Luke Wilson is yummy to look at as always, and they have a nice cast of supporting characters (including the wonderful Victor Garber and Holland Taylor as profs). The best thing about LB, though, is the nice job it does presenting a positive message (maybe even a slightly subversive positive message) about women supporting each other, standing up for each other, and encouraging each other in environments that are traditionally male-dominated. Watch the movie with that in mind and I think you'll see it ends up being one of the film's most important themes. If I had a teenage daughter, I'd show her this movie. The dialogue is sharply written and doesn't pander, and while the film has its share of the easy laughs, it earns most of the funny. It's feelgood, fun, and like Elle, a lot smarter than you might think it would be. And Reese Witherspoon. Rocks. She's one of the best actresses around in this age group. I'd reserve 5 stars for the Academy Award worthy flicks, but that's the only reason I gave it 4 -- it's a 5 for the enjoyment factor.

Review: this is a great story which i can relate to so you basicly run the school you love and trust but going to a different school and meeting strangers starting out from rock bottom again is hard i recomend this great film to any transfer or normal student this is a great film of self morals

Summary: Gentlemen prefer blondes
Review: If there were 1/2 ratings, I would have granted an extra half-star if only for the moxie and flair for fun acting that Reese Witherspoon displays in Legally Blonde. An absurd storyline is carried by the actress in a script that fits Ms. Reese tighter than the designer outfits made into a running joke in the film. Though ably directed and acted by a supporting cast including Luke Wilson and a chihuahua, 5 star storyline it is not. This movie is for fun, not for keeps. Yet, as weak as the foundation may be in Legally Blonde, I found myself smiling at the antics of Elle Woods (Reese W.), a grown up version of Alicia Silverstone's Clueless character. The sorority depictions were frightenly parallel to the one's I recall in college, which only made the stereotype more humourous. And Elle's college entrance video submitted to the Harvard Admission Committee makes the film almost worthwhile on its own. Men, be not afraid to rent this film with your girlfriend, wife, or boyfriend. Whatever your fancy, Legally Blonde has enough tom-foolery of the collegiate level to keep you laughing. Women, you will only solidify your stature as the significant other who can pick out a movie even your Marine Corp. boytoy will enjoy.

Review: This DVD is my all time favorite. Reese Witherspoon does a wonderful job displaying her more femanine side as a think pink girl who loses her boyfriend since she is not believed to be serious enough, so she makes her way into Harvard. Also starring Luke Wilson and Selma Blair. Why buy? Cuz u'll laugh from beginning to end. Music is great too.

Summary: Likeable, funny fluff; nice DVD features
Review: At first glance, this film would appear to be a rehash of "Clueless" - especially when comparing the equally blonde, likable, and rich characters played by Alicia Silverstone (Clueless) and Reese Witherspoon (Legally Blonde). However, after 30 minutes, you start to realise that Legally Blonde is actually a fish-out-of-water story. Elle (Reese's character) is a fashion major and sorority girl from a (fictional) west-coast university who decides to go to Harvard Law School (in pursuit of her boyfriend). She barely makes it in (a scene that contains the film's funniest moment: "Don't we encourage diversity in our program?"), and shows up in Massachusetts dressed in hot pink with her chihuahua in tow. In hearty contrast are her classmates - serious law students toting Masters degrees and dressed in beige and grey. The story is basically how Elle buckles down, learns to work hard, and wins the approval of her peers and professors while remaining true to herself. The movie only works because of Wotherspoon's protrayal - Elle is completely likeable, even when she starts off as a spoiled rich girl. The movie doesn't dwell on artificial crises thrown in Elle's way (in fact, the cut scenes on the DVD include a few of these, which the editor wisely eliminated). Instead, we are drawn in by the character and are cheering for her to make it through the law degree. In addition, to the untrained ear, the legalese is convincing, not a parrot of filibuster courtroom scenes from past movies. The DVD edition, oddly enough, may be more than most people would expect for such a film. There are 2 audio commentaries, some short featurettes (one enumerates all of Reese's hair styles, something like 32 in total), and a pop-up video trivia track. All are entertaining to some degree, if occasionally repetative. Most interesting are the cut scenes, including an introduction to each (and explanation why they were cut) by the director. All of this (including both widescreen and P&S forms of the film) fits on a single disc (2-sided). Therefore, for a light-hearted, fun film, check it out. If you are already a fan of the film, the DVD includes lots of goodies which recommends it over the VHS tape.

Summary: Stupoid but entertaining
Review: Let's be honest, this is a typical example of a stupid movie that just happens to be VERY entertaining. Reese is amazing and extremely funny. And what's up with the friend in the Beauty Parlor..I just laugh looking at the woman. Selma Blair is also very good here as well as in Cruel Intentions.
