Summary: Drop dead funny!
Review: Me, Myself and Irene is about Charlie; a Rhode Island police officer who is nice, and is taken advantaged of. The day he gets married, his wife has an affair with the limo driver, but he denies it, and they have three kids together. He loves them like they were his own, although they look nothing alike. Eventually his wife leaves him for the limo driver, but he gets custody of the kids. Now we flash forward and now his kids are grown up, and while on duty, he gets taken advantaged of some more until when he was in the store, he gets taken advantaged AGAIN by a woman who tells Charlie he just has a few groceries, but instead has like four cart loads of them. Finally, after taking all the crap from everyone, Hank comes out. Hank is the alter-ego of Charlie; he takes no crap, and he dishes out to everyone. So he is dianoised as a schizofranic and has to take meds for it. Now comes in Irene, she is a woman who needs to be driven across country because she is wanted for a crime. So he takes her, and from the ride, Hank comes out, and dishes out some more crap and eventually he has to get supplies: a "woman's pleasure" toy, a bottle of wine, and a couple of other things. Anyway, Charlie falls in love with Irene, and they meet an albano man which Hank calls "Whitey". Anyway, I forget how the movie ends, but it is definitely worth watching.

Summary: Me, Myself & Irene
Review: The relationship between Charlie Baileygates (Jim Carrey) and his girlfriend was sad because she left him for somebody else. Charlie was a nice guy who works for the Rhode Island Police force. Charlie lets everybody walk over him and because of that anger builds inside of him and his alter ego comes into play whose name is Hank. Hank does everything that Charlie would never dream of doing. Charlie meets a woman who has information about something and needs to be protected. The characters in this movie play their parts very well and there are a lot of funny parts that you will have to see again, thanks to Jim Carrey. The plot is very good because Charlie has three black kids to raise and they help throughout the movie also the girl he meets he helps her and they end up together at the end of the movie. Jim Carrey's character Charlie was to up lame and knew little about everything.

Summary: Intelligently Written and Absolutely Hilarious
Review: The Farrelly Brothers have outdone themselves again, with the help of Mike Cerrone. This script is side-splitting hilarity at it's best. The thing is, you have to like this kind of humor, or you won't like this at all. All out, juvenile, potty humor. If you like "Family Guy", "Simpsons", or the "Airplane" movies, this is right up your alley, just somewhat more crude. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5, because it went a little over the top for crudeness. I can take most stuff, but there was a scene or two where I'm like, "okay, that's gross". But overall, it was great enough for me to add to my DVD collection.

Summary: Same Jokes Again!
Review: I have to say: I'm bored! Jim Carrey has the same jokes again! He's fighting with himself! He has same kind of smile! This film has no sense! Jim Carrey has two persons. There's also Irene. There's happening strange things...well this film is as boring as my review of it. Same things! Nothing new!

Summary: Who Do You Prefer: Hank Or Charlie?
Review: From the directors of There's Something About Mary, & Kingpin, I didn't have much faith in this film, having not liked them. The only reason I was watching this is because I'm a fan of Jim Carrey. The beginning was a disappointment, but the last hour certainly made up for it! It's full of typical Farrelly brothers lowbrow humour, and some of the scenes are unnecessary and make you cringe.

Jim Carrey did great in this film, although the moustache near the beginning was a big mistake, and don't get me started on the Forrest Gump hairstyle!

Renee Zellweger plays her usual role, and looking at this film, it's a wonder how she was ever considered for the Bridget Jones role, she's ultra skinny! Good job there's not a crack in the floorboards, or she would go straight through!

The one thing about the Farrelly brothers films is that they always have very memorable scenes. There's Something About Mary - the "hairgel" scene. Kingpin - I can't remember what exactly was going on, but where Woody Harrelson gets his nipple out and squirts his opponent with milk! THE scene for Me, Myself & Irene has to be the breastfeeding scene. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw exactly what Jim was doing, although it is kinda predictable.

The narrator did annoy me, he didn't really have any connection to the film, and it would have been better to have one of the main characters narrating it.

There are a few good moments in this film, but they're few & far between to begin with. The last hour is definitely the best for Jim Carrey humour and slapstick. It's amazing what he manages to do in that last hour - including beating himself up!

Who do I prefer? Can't I have both?! But overall, I preferred Hank over Charlie. He seemed more like the kind of guy I would go for. Charlie's just too nice, although he gets better. And Hank had the sexier voice!

Summary: Me, Myself and a Barf Bag
Review: Quite possibly the most embarrassingly bad movie I've ever seen. I didn't think Jim Carey could fall any farther down on my list of "actors I least like to watch" - but darned if he didn't manage to do just that the other night when I tried to make it through this film. Not since "Ishtar" have I seen such a criminal waste of celluloid. I don't mind a little mindless bathroom humor once in awhile - but not when it's this blatantly mindless and appears to be the sole purpose of the movie. Renee Zellwegger must cringe when she looks back on her decision to become involved in this abortion. I would even think Carey must flinch a little - and with his record that's saying a lot.

Summary: Quite okay
Review: "Me, Myself & Irene" is a typical Farrelly-Brothers movie. Jim Carrey plays a friendly police trooper called Charlie, who is left by his wife. For 18 years he lives a normal life, but then he freaks out and his evil alter-ego Hank appears. Too bad that this just happens when Charlie has to escort the cute Irene (Renée Zellweger) to another state.
This movie is a mixture of the Farrelly classic "Dumb & Dumber" and Stevenson's "Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde". Sometimes the weird gags make you laugh tears, while others are simply too stupid. Jim Carrey is the perfect actor for the role of Charlie/Hank and he really does a great job. He deserved a better script than this one, which is just a dull variation of "Dumb & Dumber". "Me, Myself & Irene" is definitely no masterpiece but if you like brainless entertainment with bad taste humor, you should take a look at this one. The best thing about this movie is the great soundtrack.

Summary: Gross Gags Reign Supreme
Review: There is a fine line between the humor that results from sight and sound gags and the kind that are so lame that the viewer twitches in startled disbelief. Jim Carrey has done both types, but with ME, MYSELF, and IRENE, he slips unfunnily into the latter. Twin directors the brothers Farrely toss Carrey into a situation that needs the right touch to avoid bathos on the road to humor. Unfortunately, nowhere do they stop Carrey from overmugging. Carrey has made a career of twisting his rubberface and body, and most often gets away with it. But here, he is the victim of a split personality, a syndrome that does not lend itself willingly to comedy. Carrey is Charley, a Rhode Island state trooper whose wife has dumped him for an Afro-American dwarf. The introductory scene where the dwarf picks a fight with Charley is distinctly unfunny and painful to watch. Charley has spent a life repressing his feelings with the predictable result that deep within there is an aggressive bear who sounds like Dirty Harry trying to get out. Charley's alter ego is Hank, who tricks Charley's romantic lead Irene (Renee Zellweger) into sleeping with him by pretending he is Charley. Now if the Farrely brothers had limited the script into focusing solely on the triangle of Charley, Hank, and Irene, then a more believable comedy might have emerged. Instead, the Farrelys involve a totally unbelievable subplot that has Irene as some sort of witness to ecological criminal behavior at a golf course. What I found reprehensible was the frequent use of hiphop obscenties that filled every third scene. Since chase scenes in comedies really should avoid the real world association of blood and violence, it is incumbent on the cast and director to keep the focus on the comedy that results from the inevitable interaction between interesting characters. In ME,MYSELF, AND IRENE, the hoped-for comedy falls flat, and talented actors like Jim Carrey and Renee Zellweger are forced to zero in on the toilet humor of a live chicken exploring the recesses of someone's butt. Only die-hard fans of Jim Carrey should see this one.
