Summary: ONE OF THE BEST JIM CARREY MOVIES!
Review: This was by far one of the best Jim Carrey movies. I laughed so hard throughout the entire thing. Jim Carrey plays Charlie Baileygates, who has a split personality. The other side of Charlie is Hank, the mean one. His personality is hilirious! It is also so funny how Charlie has three black kids that are so smart but curse all the time. You just have to see it. Anyway, if you haven't seen it I recommend it. It is a great comedy that is garaunteed to make you laugh.

Summary: Strange hybrid of great and horrible
Review: I'm not a big Jim Carrey fan, but I like Renee Zellwegger a lot and felt that she would balance his less than stellar elements.

The good: The best thing in this film was the character "whitey" who I found quite amusing, and Charley's three sons, geniuses who swear a LOT. The beginning starts out good as we see Charley getting dumped on and used by his neighbors and acquaintances etc.

The bad: Hank. He is simply not funny. That goofy voice got old in just about two seconds, and his chauvinistic sexist ways did not make for good comedy. Also bad, the nonsensical subplot about the EPA, and crooked cop etc etc etc. Lame.

The offensive: The cow scene was horrible. It simply was not funny, went on far too long and made no sense. Why was this cow lying in the road in the first place? How could someone shoot a cow four or five times, and yet it lives? The ... feeding scene was unspeakably gross also, and I almost stopped watching there..

The verdict: It could have been a much better film, it seemed that the best elements of the cast-the kids, Whitey, small town life were not developed enough, yet the boring Charley vs Hank stuff went on non-stop. Avoid.

Review: I watched this movie hoping it would eventually climax into something funny. I am disappointed with Jim Carrey with this one. I found myself walking out of the tv room and opting to study my Algebra work instead of watching the rest of this movie. The movie was even gross in some parts-especiallly when Jim Carrey and Renee Z "pair" up-and it ended up having no point to it but to be vulgar and obscene-not to mention his bright but horrendously obscene kids. If you buy this movie, you will only watch it once-probably, and won't be interested in it again.

Summary: Undervalued Comedy Gem
Review: Amazing how quickly most of the critics turned on the Farrelly Brothers after MM&I was released. As funny as "There's Something About Mary", perhaps more so. I must confess that I laughed...

Summary: You have got to be kidding
Review: This was one of the worst movies I have ever seen. I can't believe people thought this movie was funny. The script was total garbage and it was the usual Jim Carrey one man show routine. The only funny part of the movie was the cow scene - and as far as I'm concerned - the cow stole the show. The movie just dragged and enough was enough. I kept thinking that it would eventually become funny - but it never did. I always wondered why there were so many copies on the Best Buy shelves - now I know.

Summary: Runs Out of Steam
Review: The Farrelly Brother's latest effort has Jim Carrey as Charlie, a happy motorcycle cop who represses years of cruel treatment to the point where a nasty, Dirty Harry alter-ego develops. Both personalities fall for Irene (Renee Zellweger). Hank (the nasty one) has the funniest lines. Does it work? The problem is one of pacing. I roared with laughter for the first half-hour, chortled through the second 30 minutes, and then waited for it to end.

Summary: A backward step for Jim Carrey
Review: Sometimes, when a film like this becomes a blockbuster, it makes me despondent about the state of our society. This is the very lowest form of comedy. It is coarse, ribald and vulgar, a barrage of tasteless humor that runs the gamut from disgusting to offensive. The Farrelly brothers burst onto the scene with "Dumb and Dumber", another ridiculous film with shallow humor that the masses ate like candy. They began to show some promise with "There's Something About Mary", but then they decided we haven't been insulted enough lately and they produced this tripe.

Jim Carrey is a brilliantly talented comedian. After "The Truman Show" and "Man on the Moon", it seemed like he was progressing as a comedian beyond excrement humor. I'm sure this film made him a truckload of money, but it is a relapse into fatuousness and a step backward in his career.

There are plenty of funny scenes in this film. Carrey is a funny guy. However, there is also a passel of gross-out and gutter humor, which can only be targeted at pubescent or moronic individuals. The film takes insulting pot shots at blacks, women, and the disabled, and seems to revel in its own poor taste. It is normally easy to get a laugh out of me, and I appreciate slapstick more than most, but the trend toward repugnant humor exhibited in films like this and "Scary Movie" is disheartening. What is more disturbing is how successful they are.

I rated this film a 4/10. I don't need to trash it because it trashes itself. Carrey gives us a great deal of terrific physical comedy, but the material is mostly garbage.

Summary: The Best Carrey Ever
Review: This is the absolute best Jim Carrey DVD and Movie ever, the special features just blow me away, and the two menus are awsome! This movie was hillarious, In a long time I have'nt seen a good old fashioned american comedy. Yes, they do use explict language, but that is half the fun! You should definetly buy it, the DVD is awsome and so is carrey!

Summary: it's the Farrelly brothers that have split personalities
Review: Yeah, one second they're making really funny movies like Dumb & Dumber and There's Something About Mary (the funniest movie of all time in my opinion) and then they come up with Me, Myself & Irene. A film with recycled jokes and same boring formula that Carrey has danced around so many times. MM&I is a big step down for the F brothers.

I'll admit, there were some funny moments, mostly thanks to Charlie's 3 sons who are just all out hysterical. But midget limo drivers and...Carrey are not exactly what I would call hilarious. And we have some major talent here that is so wasted. Renee Zellwegger, Chris Cooper, Robert Forster, Jim and of course the directors. All wasted. I hardly even laughed at Carreys stupid slapstick Jerry Lewis act. Bruce Campbell did it better in Evil Dead II with the demonic hand.

All in all, Me, Myself & Irene is like Primal Fear meets Ace Ventura. Mostly I'm just comparing it to the comedy genius that was There's Something About Mary. I just can't believe they were made by the same director. Unbelievable.

Summary: An underrated comic film.
Review: The Plot:Charlie Baileygates(Jim Carrey) is a nice state trooper from Rhode Island. He has three wonderful but vulgar teenagers from his first and only wife, she left him to another but smaller man. Charlie has problems, since he keep it all inside himself, since people makes fun of him, because of his wife and kids. But one day, he has a nervous breakdown and a darker rude side of him coming out, his name is Hank. Hank likes to start trouble with another people. Now a couple of weeks later, Charlie has to take pills to keep him out of trouble. Now he has a job to do to escort a young troubled woman(Renee Zellweger)but she has real troubles to deal with, but Charlie forget the most important thing his pills. His dark side coming out at times to make trouble but can Charlie can control him?

DVD`s has clear anamorphic(1.85:1) format. Fine Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround soundtrack. An entertaining commentary track by the director-The Farrelly Brothers. There also extended director`s cut(There`s some scenes are unfinish, where they filmed it). That if you want it to see it, when you click on the Bonus Features. You can watch it as Deleted Scenes also with Opitional Commentary. Jim Carrey gives a wild comic performance but this film is not for all comic taste. This film has a thin plot but Die hard fans of Bobby Farrelly(Dumb and Dumber, Kingpin, There`s something about mary) and Die Hard fans of Jim Carrey(The Truman Show, Man in the Moon) might enjoy this more than anyone will. Grade:B+
