Summary: One word: AMAZING
Review: Jack Nicholson. Helen Hunt. Put them together and an amazing film comes out the end. Recommended to anyone who is looking for laughs and chemistry between two people.

Summary: One of the Best
Review: The first time I saw this film, I expected it to be another boring comedy, until I saw the fact that it had Jack Nicholson in it. This is probably one of his best films to date, along with The Shining, and he really excells himself, showing his real acting abilities. His co-stars Helen Hunt and Greg Kinnear compliment his acting style, and they both truly deserve their Oscars for best actress and actor. This film is well worth watching and Nicholson's character is one of the best characters I've ever seen. You'll never tire of this film or the acting!

Summary: Really Funny Comedy, Sparkling Performances!
Review: This is one of the best comedies of the 90's. It is extremely entertaining and features perfect performances by an all-star cast. Jack Nicholson really shines as Melvin Udall, a role he was born to play. Helen Hunt and Greg Kinnear are also brilliant as Carol the waitress and Simon the f@g, respectively. James L. Brooks manages to write a refreshingly funny screenplay with perfectly drawn characters. It has some great insights on what lonelyness can do to a man and how relationships with other people can change your life. Extremely entertaining comedy. From a scale of 1-10 I give this film an 8!

Summary: BRILLIANT MOVIE
Review: I absolutely loved this film. It was sooooo funny too. Who ever doesn't think that this is funny has no sense of humor, or at least not a good one. "people who talk in metaphors autta shampoo my crotch", haha, that was a brilliant line, and helarious. and the reader from walnut, you have no sense of humor. And the people who say this is boring are probably sick wierdos who only like action and blood.

Summary: Dark comedy with a difference
Review: The darkness is very much present. In Melvin's personality traits. In Simon's relationship (or lack thereof) with his parents, in the vicious assault he's a victim of. In Carol's "dawn patrols" and later on in her desperate search for "something", for love, for a "boyfriend that doesn't go crazy on her!"... You might almost mistake it for a romantic comedy, all the occasional light touches are there. But what sets this apart from stereotypical lightness, and indeed from stereotypical darkness, are the actors. Jack, Helen, Greg, Shirley (and Jill) - you were sublime in this one! (script & director huge help, as well...)

Summary: 3.5 Stars, actually..
Review: Despite whatever labels you might see, this is not (thank God) a romantic comedy. Any romance only shows up near the end - and even then it's contrived, as if the writers decided they had to end the movie a certain way whether it fit or not. It's more of a comedy with a slight human drama to it. Much like the kind of movie Robin Williams always tries to make, and maybe could make if he was funny, or if he could act, or if his "drama" ever seemed human... but I digress. "Good as it Gets" has very strong writing throughout (almost all the way to the end), which is why everything holds up so well. Nicholson's performance is simply perfect for the role he's in. Hunt and Kinnear fill in their secondary spots, which is where they belong. Basically, if you appreciate humor with a cynical edge you'll love this movie. If you can't handle the realism, go back and rent "Senseless in Seattle" for the 19th time.

Summary: As Great As It Gets
Review: I can't say enough about this film. It is touching, funny, and heartfelt. All the performances were great. If Titanic wasn't in the Best Picture category, this movie would've won. Come to think of it, this move SHOULD HAVE won. People that don't like this film take it too seriously. Nicholson is hilarious as Marvin Udall, and it is a well deserved Oscar. Helen Hunt is touching as the waitress trying to get by day by day, another well deserved Oscar. Greg Kinnear is exceptional as the sensitive Gay neighbor, and that should've been an Oscar, but it's rare when first time nominees win. This film also has one of the best movie quotes, "You make me want to be a better man". It's right up there with "You complete me". I strongly recommend this film for people who have problems coping with life. It will make you laugh, and show you that life isn't all that bad.

Summary: The Human Spirit Is Alive And Kicking
Review: As Good As It Gets is one of the best movies out there. Jack Nicholson, once again shows us a glimpse into the human psyche that we might otherwise avoid. I cannot remember the last time I enjoyed a character as much. If you want to laugh, cry and enjoy the beauty of all of the different people on our earth, this is the movie for you. Enjoy! It's our differences that make us similar:)

Summary: First of all...I really liked it.
Review: First of all...I really liked it. Now I must tell you that I went in to see this movie with a poor attitude, because I don't like Jack Nicholson movies (except for "A Few Good Men" and "Wolf"). Ever since I saw Jack in the "Shining", I have thought the guy was just too psycho. Well sure enough, I found that I now like a third Jack Nicholson movie and yes...this should be known as a "Jack Nicholson" movie. Helen Hunt and Greg Kinnear were great in their respective parts, but Jack carried the day. The movie was funny in a most offensive way, serious in a very sad way, and bizarre in a Jack Nicholson way. Jack plays a guy who is just rude and offensive to everyone he meets, you feel sorry for him every so often, but those brief milliseconds pass and you go back to thinking he is just a jerk....but then even jerks have the potential for changing. Now any one of you who like to rip on others or those of you who all know a person like that, then this film is for you, but if any of you are on the receiving end of a person like this, then you'll even appreciate this film, because guess what...he does begin to change for the better...so maybe there is hope. It is not surprising that Jack Nicholson and Helen Hunt both won Golden Globe awards for this film. You will definitely be glad you saw it, even if you are sitting there right now saying no way, well stop talking to yourself and go see it....you will like it. Bottom line...if you are looking for a great movie this month, then this is "As Good As It Gets".
