Summary: Every Man's Dream
Review: Mel Gibson plays a top ad exec and Helen Hunt plays the woman who gets the job he wanted and becomes his boss. Through a quirk of fate, while doing some research for his job, Gibson's character gets the much sought-after power that all men want -- the ability to know what women want and to figure women out. While it helps him out with his job, it can also lead to embarrasing moments such as helping his daughter pick out a dress for the prom. A must see. Very funny. A great addition to any collection.

Summary: Good fun, but a renter, not a keeper
Review: Mel plays an aggressive "man's man" that is suddenly given the ability to hear women's thoughts. After struggling with this "gift" he finally starts to use it to his advantage. The movie is entertaining and funny. Mel is great and just fun to watch but Helen is weak at best. Through out the movie she exudes some negative energy that says, yikes, don't trust her. It is a great idea for a story, and presented well for the most part. Definitely rent it, I promise you will enjoy; however, you might not watch it more than once, so think hard before buying.

Summary: Who writes these things???
Review: DREK... absolute, pure drek. Offensive in its man-only-thinks-of-sex premise, even more offensive that Mel Gibson, like so many aging actors, is paired with ever-younger female costars. That studios still pay actors like Gibson to make such drek, and that those studios pay screenwriters to write it, and that people go see the movie in the theater and then buy the dvd, is as great a mystery to me as any.

Summary: the end does not justify the means
Review: I found that most of the good parts of the movie to be in the trailer, but isn't that the way of movies today? In all honesty, the movie was okay. It had it's cute moments but when the entire package doesn't deliver and I go away unsatisfied I can't in good conscious recommend a movie. For me the end negated anything that was good about the movie.

Summary: *GAG* - Not another sugar-coated chick flick!!
Review: This movie proves that Hell is full and the dead are walking the Earth, making these movies and sitting in theatres watching them. The old "all men are scum until they get in touch with their feelings" plot is dredged up again in this lamebrain film. I guess I was supposed to get all doe-eyed and say "Is'nt Mel dreamy?" and laugh at the supposed "Comedy" while watching this flick, but it made me wretch! Boring, silly and a waste of time.

What do men want? Our money back!

Summary: A total flop
Review: I'm sorry but I think Mel Gibson is much too old for the character of this role. I thought the story line relied too much on crude humour, obviously Hollywood doesn't think that people can enjoy a movie without a little naughty stuff in their movies.

Well their wrong, I didn't enjoy this movie because of the objectionable and disgusting crude humour,etc.. I thought that it was silly, and shallow, and definately this is not Mel Gibson's best. He's much too old for this part.

I don't know what Hollywood wants women to think they want, but I know that I was sorry to have wasted my time watching it. His character is manipulative, and disgusting. I don't understand how the director, could glamourize this. It has too many offensive things for me to like it.

I think that the romance storyline was ridiculous and silly.

Summary: Surprisingly, very funny and very enjoyable
Review: For the most part I really enjoyed this film. Probably mostly due to the guilty pleasure effect --- I mean, how cool would it be to have Mel's character's "superpowers"?

This is a fun film, where ultimately good triumphs over pigginess -- Mel's character makes the requisite shift from gigolo swine to sensitive male and uses his powers for good-mostly. The one drawback is his character's relationship with Marisa Tomei - his treatment of her never loses its swinish vestiges. But then again, her character turns out to be just a wee bit immature & self-indulgent ("a little more to the left," "the whole tongue at once" --- that sort of thing, not direct quotes, but watch the movie and you'll get my drift).

The acting is very good. Helen Hunt is adorable (as she was in "As Good As It Gets" and "Castaway" -- and, yikes, even "Twister" -- ! - ). And Mel and Helen have a very good on-screen chemistry.

Surprisingly enjoyable. A much better romance story than the one in "Pearl Harbor."

Summary: I like it. I love it! I want some more of it!!
Review: Yeah, give it to me, baby. Give me some more! What a tasty little movie!

Now, let me be serious. This movie is delicious! Gibson and Hunt are both terrific. Have you seen Braveheart? Well, that movie is only good because of Mel Gibson. What Women Want is good and funny for the same reason. Maybe Helen Hunt had a little to do with that, but Gibson alone is sufficient for a movie's goodness and funniness. Basically, Gibson and hunt made this movie work; the screenwriter and director and everyone other than Gibson and Hunt had nothing to do with it.

Summary: Butterflies
Review: Are the sexiest men not those who can seduce a woman's mind with words that are simply playthings at their disposal? A man who knows how to use his mind and who can express his most inner desires to the woman he loves is highly attractive. If he can love the woman for who she is and care deeply for her, see her as a soul and has her best interest at heart, what more can a woman ask for?

"The greatest question...which I have not been able to answer, despite my thirty years in research into the feminine soul, is 'What do women want?'" -Freud

Well, most of us are quite willing to tell a man what we want. However, the magic happens when a man knows what we want before we have to ask. There is nothing as disappointing as having to ask for what you want. So, what is a man to do in order to find the secret formula to the love elixir? I am convinced it can only be found when the right chemistry, the right words and the right actions all mingle into one common goal. The very fact that a man wants to give a woman what she wants is almost enough to make any woman crave more.

On that note, what a chance this movie had to really tell everyone what women want! I am laughing to think that most men will walk away from this movie still wondering. In fact, they touched on very few ideas about what women want and focused more on the kissing scenes. Awareness seemed more the message. Listening to the needs of others when no one else is listening. The man who takes the time to figure a woman out, is in my mind always rewarded in some way for his time.

In this movie, Nick seems more self absorbed and doesn't take into consideration how the women in his life might be feeling. When he is "shocked" by the hair dryer in the bathtub, something strange and exciting happens. At first he is overwhelmed by the thoughts of all the women around him, everywhere. Then, he turns his new found gift into a weapon that almost destroys what he wants most.

I loved this movie because it is absolutely hilarious. It kept my full attention and made me laugh out loud so many times I lost track of the time.

Helen Hunt has never been so beautiful in a movie and Mel Gibson shares quite a hot onscreen chemistry with her. They just are magic together and bring a mature sensitivity those who are 30 and older will appreciate. I thought this movie brought out the best in them both. Nick's relationship with his daughter is cute, funny and then beautiful. He learns to be a great dad in the end and is there for her when she needs him most.

Here are some things I think are high on any woman's list:

1. Tell her you need her in your life.
2. Tell her you love her, don't make her ask you to say it!!!
3. Make her feel important by showing her you mean what you say.
4. Make her laugh!!!! Find out what amuses her.
5. Send her Love Letters telling her your deepest desires and fantasies.
6. Hugs, kisses and snuggling will get you points later!
7. Remember the important dates in her life. Surprise gifts count even more!
8. Give her freedom to express herself and don't criticize her deepest feelings.
9. Tell her you are there for her, no matter what! Unconditional love is amazing.
10. Talk to her in a loving way every day and win her heart forever.

Books you will love!
If Only He Knew/For Better or For Best by Gary Smalley
Light His Fire/Light Her Fire by Ellen Kreidman

The shock is, a little knowledge will go a long way. This movie will show men what power they can have if they are willing to take a small amount of time to find the information women wish they knew. It has been my observation that if a man is not loving the woman in his life, another man will take on the challenge. I mean, what man out there would not want to have the keys to a woman's mind.

There are men who know what you are thinking, even when you don't tell them. When that happens, watch out! The ocean of their mind is a deep place to swim and you could drown in love. Making a woman's heart beat faster when she thinks of you has everything to do with how much you can please her mind.

Summary: Depressing!!
Review: It's a comedy, but you won't laugh. I was very depressed when I watched this movie, the idea was wonderful but the story [was bad], the performance also is so stupid, if you watch Helen Hunt you will be confused weather you are watching Mad About You, As Good as it Gets or even Twister!!

In briefe, if you are getting this movie, don't expect much!!
