Rating: Summary: This is the best movie of the year. Review: If you don't like this movie you have no imagination. Sandler goes from his wacky comedy movies to a more conservative comedy. Barrymore is just the best looking female artist out there.
Rating: Summary: Excellent: it'll make ya cry. Review: Adam Sandler plays a heart-broken young man whose wedding is cancelled by his high school sweetheart at the last minute. He then moves on to singing at weddings where he meets Drew Barrymore, a waitress at the banquet hall, the two undeniably fall in love. Pay close attention to the airplane scene when he serenades her, it will make you cry, or atleast it did for me. Definatly a five star!
Rating: Summary: Great Movie Review: 80's satiristic, comedy, and love story all in one. Very funny
Rating: Summary: Great for everyone! Review: When I rented this video, I had to watch it twice before I took it back. It is a wonderful visit back in time to the 80's, when hair was big and life was sweet. Wide belts were in, and mousse was a best-seller. The music in this movie is fantastic, especially if you, like I, grew up during this time. I was weaned on MTV, watching it 24-7. Watching this movie is like those MTV days all over again. Perhaps even better than the music and nostalgia of this movie is the romance between the characters played by Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler. Both characters are genuinely nice, and are genuinely good people, who are truly interested in being good at what they do. It is also refreshing to see Christine Taylor in a role other than Marcia Brady of the Brady Bunch movies. I had to look twice at her to realize who she was in such a different role. She plays the best friend and confidante of Barrymore's character, and succeeds in matchmaking. This is a delightfully innocent look back to a sweeter time in our lives, and for those growing up in the 90's, perhaps it will show them how much more innocent and wonderful life was back then!
Rating: Summary: the greatest movie related to the 80's ever! Review: the reason i love this movie so much is the 80's theme and my favorite actor and actress being sandler and barrymore.it had everything from top to bottom.comedy, romance, drama, acting, great theme, and a very good soundtrack.i hope these two are in another movie together in the near future.drew barrymore and sandler make the best team!!!!
Rating: Summary: "Hey, let's throw together a movie around a soundtrack!" Review: Ugh. This has to be one of the worst movies I've ever seen. Horribly miscast (Adam Sandler as a nice guy and Playboy-posin', tattoo sportin', Letterman flashin', rock-star datin', Drew as an innocent girl-next-door. O-kay. Must be the same people who put Janeane Garofalo in those warm 'n' fuzzy romantic comedies.) Bad writing(quote one line of the movie that was NOT in the commercials. I haven't met one person who can.) It seems like somebody wrote a terrible romantic-comedy script & just hired some replacement hack to throw in the 80's references as a excuse put out a by-the-numbers packaged soundtrack.
Rating: Summary: Great 80's Movie Review: This is the best 80's movie I have seen in a long time
Rating: Summary: Funny, Funny, Funny Review: When I went to go see this I was in a terriable mood. But when I walked out of the theater I don't think I've been in a better mood in my life. This movie was one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. Adam Sanler is hysterical. I would recomend this movie for anyone of anyone age.
Rating: Summary: BETTER THAN WATERBOY Review: THIS MOVIE IS SO HILARIOUS AND IT IS A GREAT KICK BACK COMEDY THAT I HAVE WATCHED ABOUT 60 TIMES SINCE I BOUGHT IT AT AMAZON.COM. ITS A MUST HAVE FOR EVERYONE WHO LIVED THROUGH THE EIGHTIES. THE COSTUMES, DANCING, AND SONGS ARE GREAT. GET THE CD'S TOO.
Rating: Summary: One of the Best Romantic Comedies Review: It's nice to see a genuinely touching romance from Hollywood for a change. Titanic did absolutely nothing for me as far as the "romance" went, but The Wedding Singer was definately one of this years highlights. I could go on and on about this film, but since everybody I know (minus a couple of goofy critics that need their heads examined) loved it, there's nothing I could say that people don't already know. The 80s references were great, and I really cared about the characters for a change. Almost true to life in it's own quirky way
