Summary: The Wedding Singer rocks!
Review: The Wedding Singer stars Adam Sandler as Robbie Hart and Drew Barrymore as Julie Sullivan. The movie co-stars Christine Taylor as Holly, Julie's sister, Matthew Glare as Glenn Guglia, Julie's fiancé, and Allen Covert as Sammy, Robbie's friend. Frank Coraci directs this 97-minute movie, a 1998 New Line Cinema release.This romantic comedy is set in 1985, complete with big hair, Miami Vice references, and 80's music. Robbie is singing at a wedding (with a band member who looks like Boy George), and meets Julia who is a new waitress. Robbie is excited about his upcoming wedding, but is left at the altar. He decides to go back to work and gives a horrible performance ending his career as a wedding singer. In the meantime, Julia is engaged to Glenn, who is cheating on her, and Robbie is talked into helping them in planning their wedding. Spending time together help Robbie and Julia realize that they are also falling in love. This sets the stage for a somewhat typical romantic comedy. Robbie wants Julia but she is engaged, and when she is ready to leave Glenn, she thinks Robbie has returned to his former fiancé. Upset, she decides to go to Las Vegas to marry Glenn. Robbie finds out and decides to go to Vegas and convince Julia to leave Glenn for him. While on the plane Robbie meets 80's icon Billy Idol and tells him what he is planning to do. Robbie then finds out Glenn and Julia are on the plane. Robbie sings a love song to Julia and Billy takes care of Glenn. The movie ends with Robbie and Julia getting married. As a romantic comedy I would give the movie four stars, as most romantic comedies do not strike me as particularly funny. There are great scenes with Adam Sandler singing, and Drew Barrymore really makes the movie with great facial expressions and a great scene when she was hung over. Billy Idol, John Lovitz, and Steve Buscemi make guest appearances and are way funnier than one would think. With this combination, it makes The Wedding Singer one of the best romantic comedies I have had the pleasure of viewing.

Summary: A Gentle Love Story
Review: Adam Sandler shines as Robbie Hart, a popular and most hired small town Wedding Singer. His days of singing loves songs at weddings are over when his bride never shows up for his OWN wedding. In the process of his trip to get over his bride, he meets Julia Sullivan (Played by Drew Barrymore, who pulls a WONDERFUL, sparkling performance), a new girl in town who waitresses at weddings. Julia happens to be working at his dropout wedding. She stands by his side to make him feel better the two strike a strong friendship,and feelings evolve. However, Julia is engaged to marry another guy, she tells herself that she is happy and her and Robbie talk about it, they are both blind to the fact that they are falling for eachother. When they both realize it, robbies bride tries to come back into the picture and an escapade of things happen. An upbeat, hilarious romance, with a terrific soundtrack. Anyone who lived through the 80's will laugh as you remember how things were back then when you watch this movie. Made for the warm hearted. Billy Idol gives a small performance as himself in the movie.

Review: Good movie!!! I guess this is what triggered Adam and Drew's newest movie "50 First Dates". You know why? BECAUSE THIS MOVIE WAS SO GOOD! It was pretty good. You just have to see it a few times. The first time I saw it I thought it was OK. Then, after the next few times, it got funnier and funnier! Its overall a pretty good movie. Especially the last 15 minutes when he gets on the plane and meets a famous rock star. (WHO? GET THE MOIVE AND FIND OUT!) So...yeah. Get this movie. You won't regret it.

Review: Cute little movie. I still don't know what the '80s have to do with the story, though. Perhaps it was meant as a nostalgia thing or something, but a fake and cliched presentation of a decade I remember quite well doesn't bring back any real memories. (For a trip back in time I recommend the opening credits scene from FAST TIMES AT RIDGEMONT HIGH). But I did like it and it was very pleasant seeing Adam Sandler in this kind of role. Check it out. If you don't like it I won't write another positive review again. Peace, bro.

Summary: Adam Sandler's best performance!
Review: This is fantastic stuff. Sandler plays Robbie - a genuinely sweet guy who is a failed rock star and now makes money singing at people's weddings. His wife-to-be dumps him at the alter and leaves him with a crushed heart that almost results in a nervous breakdown. He is befriended by a young waitress named Julia (played by Drew Barrymore) who helps him to pick up the pieces of his heart. Robbie falls for her charms and ends up falling in love with her, but she is already engaged to a complete loser who cheats on her and basically doesn't care. It's now left to Robbie to make Julia know that they were made for each other, whatever the cost - even if it means getting a plane to Las Vegas to try and stop her getting married to her loser of a fiance. All set in 1985, this romantic comedy has all the elements to make everyone feel good afterwards. The soundtrack is amazing, Sandler is on top form and Drew Barrymore has never been more adoreable in a movie. The plot is a bit derivative but you can just ignore that and concentrate on the comedy because there are a lot of laugh out loud scenes - especially, the drunken best man speech (played by the brilliant Steve Buscemi) Enjoy!!!!!!!!

Summary: REALISTIC reincarnation of the flamboyant 1980s!
Review: As a teenager of the 1980s, I totally enjoyed watching the Wedding Singer and reliving a moment in time when big hair, colorful clothing, flamboyant music and funny dancing were all the rage. I have to give credit to the writer and director who were able to capture just the right atmosphere of the 80s -- an almost reincarnation of the 80s -- and make a hilarious but charming, romantic film starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore. This is Adam Sandler's best role and he deserves better roles NOT roles catered to 10 year old boys. Hollywood has a real talent in Sandler, but you gotta give him diverse roles. It's great to see Sandler play a different role. He plays a sensitive, shy wedding singer who is left waiting at the altar on his wedding day. From that awful experience, he attempts to cope in many different ways, but luckily for him, he meets Julia played by the adorable and talented Drew Barrymore who is the warm, understanding and friendly waitress engaged to a "Miami Vice" wannabe. Not to give this movie away, but sparks do fly and both Sandler and Barrymore have just the right chemistry to make this movie work and it does! From the music, to the big hair, the funny dancing, the 80s atmosphere and the talent and charm of both Sandler and Barrymore, I recommend this movie to anyone who would like to live or relive my generation.

Review: Robbie Hart (Adam Sandler) is a talented singer, who is the Ulimate Master at Ceremonies but When he`s about to get married, his girlfriend (Angela Featherstone) left him at the altar at his wedding. Mad at the world and especially himself, only thing, he could do is destory other`s people wedding just into he meets a soft-hearted waitress named Julia (Drew Barrymore) helps him to pick up the broken pieces of his heart. When Robbie meets Julia`s fiancee (Matthew Grove) and finding out that he`s a real jerk (especially when he manipulated Julia`s heart). Robbie falls in love with her, unless he could pull off a genuine moment with Julia before she gets married with a SOB. Directed by Frank Coraci (The Waterboy) made a wonderful memorable romantic comedy that is absolutely satisfying. Sandler brings One of his Best Roles as a Struggling Song Writer & Barrymore is adorable as the Woman of his Dreams. This was a Surprise Box Office Hit, when it was release in the Winter of 1998. Carrie Fisger did some re-writes for this film, which she`s uncredited. Allen Covert is also fun as Robbie`s best friend and Christine Taylor is also attractively sexy as Julia`s Cousin. DVD has an sharp anamorphic Widescreen (1.85:1) transfer (also in Pan & Scan) with an fine Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound. DVD Extras are a Theatrical Trailer, Cast & Information & Three Karoke Songs. Billy Idol appears in a amusing cameo and also Jon Lovitz as a ridiculous Party Singer. Steve Bucesmi appears unbilled in a funny bit. Written by Tim Herlihy. Grade:A-.

Robbie is devastated when his fiancée, Linda, leaves him at the alter on their wedding day. His loneliness tranforms him into a careless guy who only ruins people's weddings. When Robbie meets Julia, a waitress at the banquet hall, he begins to believe in love again, and falls helplessly in love with Juila. Only one catch: Julia's getting married-and she doesn't know her fiancé is cheating on her. It's up to Robbie to stop Julia's wedding before he looses her for good! "The Wedding Singer" is a hilarious romantic comedy, with a great screenplay, great performances by the cast, and a rockin' soundtrack! This is a movie you cannot miss! The message it brings is so charming: if you love someone, go for them! So if you're in the mood for romance, comedy, or both, watch "The Wedding Singer" for pure 100% fun, romance and laughs!

Review: The film was ace, i thought by watching it that drew and adam would be brill together for real life. They are great friends and they both act together soooooooo cool! Drew is funny in a couple of parts of the film i certainly think she should be a comedian, she is sooooooooooo funny. I really enjoyed one of there other films they made together 50 first dates, that was soooooooooo romantic. I think this musical film defently deserves a 5 star and not less because the acting is cool, and they are both made to act together. And she's my favorite actress anyway. It got me so tempting in buying this video because i like to see films with them both in together, it is certainly a good film for you if you like drew or adam. GOT TO BE SEEN, EVEN IF YOU ARN'T MUCH FOR A MUSICAL.
