Summary: One of my favorite movies
Review: I thought this film was a masterpiece! One thing I noticed about this movie though is that there is no middle ground, you either love it or hate it. It is nice to see that in a business now filled with crude jokes or poorly-attempted slapstick that there still are writers writing intelligent comedies. The only problem is while this movie is intelligent, there are fifty beer and fart joke movies to go along with it. I recommend Rushmore to anyone interested in a witty, offbeat comedy.

Summary: A Masterpiece
Review: As the others before me have noted, this is what filmmaking is all about. Any time you see a film that makes you wish you could've been a part of it in even the tiniest of ways, you owe it to yourself and that film to spread the word as much as possible. GO SEE THIS MOVIE. If you are a thoughtful, creative person I am certain it'll be a remarkable experience.

Summary: An intelligent, interesting film ...
Review: ... but not at ALL what I expected! I mean, I thought this was a comedy! And while parts were decidedly funny, I found this one to be more of a profile of a passionate nerd named Max Fischer and his mentor (brilliantly portrayed by Bill Murray). Their often hostile interaction resulting from a mutual attraction to a pretty instructor at Rushmore Academy is the centerpiece in this very unusual and unexpectedly different story. And while I enjoyed it, it really wasn't a normal kind of movie. Still, I'd definitely say it's worth seeing!

Summary: Boooooooring
Review: One of the worst movies ever made in all of movie history. No acting, the WORST screenplay, an absolute bore!!!! A total waste of time. NOT FUNNY.

Summary: Absolutely Brilliant
Review: The minute the end credits rolled on this video, my wife and I looked at each other and yelled "That was INCREDIBLE!" Jason Schwartzman as Max is the poster boy for the underappreciated "loser with taste" clique. And Bill Murray was hilarious. In every scene, he injects some subtle bit of comic genius. I recommend going back and watching it again so you catch more of his fine performance. And how better to say it -- WES ANDERSON is a GOD! Why is it he seems to have captured the best little bits and pieces of my childhood and friends, and has amplified it into a hilarious movie?

Make sure you don't miss RUSHMORE. It is undoubtedly one of the best movies ever made, and DEFINITELY the best comedy. (Don't forget to see Anderson's other film BOTTLE ROCKET when you get a chance. It is also hilarious, especially Kumar.)

Summary: This movie blows
Review: What a terrific waste of time...I watched with several other people and we all hated it! Another reason to not listen to the critics.

Summary: Brilliant without a shadow of a doubt
Review: My friends and I quoted "Rushmore" back and forth between each other after we had all seen it at least twice in the theater. Definitely one of the best movies of the year: a hilarious, delightful, heart-warming, darkly-comic look at the unique spirit of Max Fischer. I love this movie with ardent passion. If any fellow fan wants to discuss the movie, please (by all means) email me. Also, I can't wait to buy it on DVD (as soon as I have the means)...it loses a little on video.

Summary: An Incredible Movie
Review: This movie is hilarious, but not for everyone. If you are a fan of Raisin' Arizona, Bottle Rocket, Swingers or similar movies, then you'll probably love this one too. It's humor is witty and intelligent, so if you're more into fart and sex jokes ala SouthPark or Friends, this movie might not be for you.

Summary: Best Movie I have ever seen
Review: This movie kicks b***. I love it and you will too. This movie is brilliant. I can't belive how funny it is. I love Rushmore with all of my heart.

Summary: Too few funny moments
Review: Based upon all the accolades heaped upon it by numerous critics, I was led to believe that the movie would be different, challenging, and extremly funny. While it met the first of these, there was little challenge in the typical Hollywood "everyone falls in love ending", and the abandoment of what makes Max so fascinating...that he is so different. At the end, I was halfway expecting there to be multiple wedding scenes, when, Max sabotaging his own play with dynamite and bees would befit his character. As far as the humor goes, the funny moments and sight gags were too far inbetween. Max at dinner and Bill Murray at his son's birthday party were comedic highlights, and likely to be some of the funniest, wry humor moments you'll ever see in a film, but the rest of the movie was bogged down by almost mechanical feelings of love and romance. For a movie championing the outcast, it sure made conformity look good.
