Summary: Perfection.
Review: Without a doubt, this is the only truly great film of the decade. A film that will satisfy your most intellectual instincts while it echoes in your heart. There has never been a more touching and affecting portrait of the thin line between fantasy and reality in a child and the bittersweet havoc it can wreak. We have not seen a more felt film since MANHATTAN. And did I mention it's hilarious? It has more belly laughs than HOLY GRAIL. Just keep to the widescreen, please.

Review: The first time I rented this, I had mixed feelings about it. I enjoyed it, but for some reason it left a weird taste in my mouth. But when I watched again a few weeks later, I fell in love with it! In fact, it's now one of my favorite movies. I don't know why it grew on me so much; one of those unexplainable movie-watching phenomena, I guess. I just ordered the soundtrack, and I'll probably get the video too!

Summary: Worth Repeat Viewings
Review: A very funny quircky comedy, loaded with character development. As a video store employee, I am encouraged to take out 5 free rentals a week to give customers an honest opinion. Normally the videos only get 1 quick screening. Rushmore got 2 screenings. I tell the customers that it reminded me of The Graduate. I found myself relating to both Blume & Max Fischer. It is not a commercial film, so those expecting Dumb & Dumber or There's Something About Mary would probably be wise to keep clear. Those looking for an intelligent, character-driven movie with real characters should get a kick out of this one.

Summary: Puuuhleeze!
Review: I only watched about 35 minutes of this piece of crap. I haven't felt such a violent physiological reaction to a movie since I stomped out of "All That Jazz" many years ago. Pointless. Incredibly banal. The lead character is absolutly sickining. The scene where he is blubbering (from eyes and nose) while being chewed out by the authorities for cutting down the trees, was the precise moment when I couldn't take anymore. Yeah, the critics found it different and arresting. So is a pile of fresh manure.

Review: Some guy wrote That this film is worse than a kick in the head. Well thats all BULL. Everything about this movie is great. The acting,the script, the directing, and the cinematogrophy (I spelled that wrong). Wes Anderson is one of the best directors of my generation. He's amazing with the camera and Owen Wilson is also great with the script. Its a shame that this film didn't recieve an OSCAR nomination. It's that great.

Review: This movie plays like "bottle rocket". It is very enjoyable story and has characters that are all 100% likeable. It is hilarious and sweet and it contains little kids using profanity yet never offends. It is, simply stated, a perfect film.

Review: THE best comedy of the nineties. It is very original and creative unlike every other comedy. Great cinematography and direction. Bill Murray could not have been funnier. Jason Schwartzman ( not spellled right), well he was great. The best part of the movie is that creepy little kid. He's hilarious!!

Review: I read the other reviews where they said you would either love it or hate it. I am a person who likes to make up my own mind. I love Bill Murray. He is a genius, as far as acting is concerned. This movie however did not star Bill Murray. He was given a small, insignificant role. So, don't rent this movie just because he is in it. I have to admit that throughout the movie I was throughly confused. I did not know what was going to happen next. I swear, there were times in the movie that I thought the credits were going to roll and the movie would be over. I did laugh, but I can count the number of times on one hand. This is not a bad movie, it's just not the movie that I've come to expect from Bill Murray. If you're tired of watching predictable movies, watch Rushmore, but don't watch it if you think it is going to be another great comedy by Bill Murray. Instead watch my favs Groundhog Day, Ghostbusters and The Man Who Knew Too Little.
