Summary: Make it stop, mommy!
Review: Perhaps my sense of the artistic is in my other pants, but I can think of few things I wouldn't rather do than see "Rushmore". I can't really say that anything was wrong with this movie, because absolutely nothing was ever right with it. The acting was overdone, the script pathetic, the premise without interest and the movie utterly lacking in point. Frankly my opinion can be summed up by one statement: When I got home from this movie I took out my ticket stub, tore it up, burned it, and then spit on the ashes.

Review: The movie was definitely one that you have to think about a bit. I wouldn't call it a comedy, more an unusual poem about the maturing of an ecentric youth, with some aspects blow so deliberately far out of proportion that I could not help but laugh.After the ending scene, I just sat there staring at the screen for about ten minutes, trying to figure out what the conclusion had meant. Realization came from a very surprising area. This movie makes great use of symbolism. Anyway, at least no one got hurt.

Summary: fabula prime proba!
Review: I like this movie so much that I was compelled to look up a latin phrase for the one-line summary above, I think it means especially good. I also feel like starting up some kind of club, perhaps a bombardment society, and writting a play. Don't expect your typical mass produced Hollywood movie here. Great acting by Jason Schwartzman and Bill Murray, I think it's Murray's best performance yet. My thanks to Wes Anderson and Owen Wilson for writting and directing such a wonderful story. Summary: DO NOT BUY THIS EDITION...
Review: The Criterion Collection has announced that they are developing their own edition of 'Rushmore'. It will have a lot of extra material on the disc and will be probably be in anamorphic widescreen (enhanced for 16X9). The version of 'Rushmore' that is currently available is a bare-bones release that does not do the film justice. There's not even a commentary track from director Wes Anderson. The Criterion disc is reportedly due early next year. Just WAIT!

Summary: BIZARRE BUT CHARMING
Review: Unlike a lot of the other reviewers here, I didn't think the movie was a "classic" worthy of 5 stars. It certainly doesn't come near "Harold And Maude" nor "The Graduate" in caliber. On the other hand, it wasn't a bomb either. I liked the movie because the 3 main characters were complex; at times loathsome and at other times endearing. This is a story about friendships developed, divided, and ultimately redeemed The scene where Murray and Schwartzman meet outside the barber shop was touching as was the final scene(don't want to give it away). The film was rather disjointed in the way the scenes were put together. The story was set in the late 90's but it had a 60's feel to it (including a KILLER soundtrack). I don't really get that, unless the filmakers were paying homage to "The Graduate". But again, I enjoyed watching this quirky set of characters (both major and minor) sabotage and then reconcile with each other. And I thought the acting was fantastic. Those reviewers who didn't like it probably equate comedic acting with loudness, overemphasis, and a lot of vulgarity for it own sake. What makes these characters funny is how subtle their reactions are; especially Bill Murray. The look on his face as his car careens out of control was priceless. This is an odd little movie with a soul. Check it out.

Review: This was probably one of the best movies that I have ever seen. I mean, it was one of those movie phenomenon that you dont see everyday but if you do, it just hits you and you love it. But, it was a very romantic comedy and I would whatch it everyday if I could.

Summary: Favorite comedy of the 90s
Review: I found this film ridiculously funny. Having attended a private school for part of my education and known people who've gone to male-only, private schools, the film stylishly captures the mix of geekdom, male social codes/rituals, RAMPANT egomania, and most of all, unique comraderie that's unique to such institutions. It's satire, but a warm, nostalgic satire.
This flick also works as a private school version of The Simpsons. Yes, Max Fisher is really another version of Bart Simpson, that mix of wiser-than-his-time, can-do chutzpah, and adolescence, which all comes apart when he falls for 1st teacher Rosemary Cross (Olivia Williams.) As in the cartoon Montegomary Burns is what Bart may be if he loses his heart, Bill Murray is what Max may become if he succombs to bitterness. This also becomes a source of an endearing rivalry and friendship between Bill and Max, and all of a sudden you have a honest, sometimes dark, sometimes touching look at human relationships.
More than a coming-of-age story, it's a story about the weird people we meet and the weirder (and special) friendships we get from them. Hands down, the film of '98 and really one of the best comedies of this decade.
