Summary: BETTER THAN "CAPE FEAR"!
Review: Suspense movies really don't get any better than this, especially when you decide to add De Niro into the mix. I feel that this movie is one of De Niro's best movies. Snipes is also very good in this dark thriller.

In "The Fan", Robert De Niro stars as Gil Renard, a knife salesman who's very close to losing it everyday. His ex-wife wants nothing to do with him, and she wants the man nowhere near their son.

The only thing Gil has left in life is watching baseball, and seeing one of his favorite players, Snipes, swing into action. But as the season goes on, Snipes seems to be losing his magic and is almost striking out at every game. Knowing this, Gil feels it's his duty to help the baseball player out, even if it means murder.

As Gil becomes more obssessed with the man, the more dangerous he becomes. Gil is about to put Snipes through absoulute hell and become a real threat to him, and his little boy. For Gil is no ordinary fan of the game, he is a sick stalker who will do anything to get close to Snipes.

Filled with suspense and surprises, "The Fan" delivers as being a first class thriller which will leave you pinned to your seat until the final scene. For those who liked "Cape Fear", this movie should not leave one feeling unsatisfied.

Summary: Early batch of DVD but still one of the best
Review: The DVD was released in 1997 (the year DVD format was launched) but the technical quality of the DVD is up there with the best of the best. The picture transfer is excellent and Dolby 5.1 is outstanding. There is no extra on this DVD but given that this movie was a flop during its theatrical run, a special edition is not very likely. Robert De Niro is super here. If you think he is creepy in Cape Fear, wait to see his performance here. A must for DVD collector.

Summary: This movie is not so good of a thriller.
Review: The Fan doesn't appear to be a good astonishment. Poor Gill lost his job, lost custody of his son, and now his life. Deniro and Snipes appearances are more than disappointing but the script is also plain stupid!

Summary: Excellent Performance by Robert DeNiro!
Review: The Fan is a one of the best Drama's I've ever seen! The Fan involves a crazed fan (DeNiro) who will stop at nothing to disturbe his favorite baseball player(Snipes). This is one of DeNiro's most scariest roles ever.

Summary: Batters Up!!!
Review: This ain't such a bad movie, eventhough I gave it two stars. The reason why I gave it two stars was because, at times, it got boring. But I like how Robert De Niro acted. He was a mentally ill man, that went around and gave people a taste of his baseball bat, and also stalked his favourite baseball player, Wesley Snipes.

This movie should be watched by many. I thought that De Niro was just hilarious. Especially when he threatened his son's stepdad with a baseball bat.

I thought this movie was pretty much an okay thriller.

Summary: the best of 96 :)
Review: This is the movie that made me start to love DeNiro movies. This movie is so realistic because of it's first-rate script, explosive acting talents, and the atmosphere of the movie is just so common. The film is about an avid baseball fan named Gil Renard who is also a knife-salesman for a local firm. He lives in San Francisco so his favorite team is obviously the Giants. When baseball superstar Bobby Rayburn (played by the very talented Wesley Snipes) is traded to the Giants, Gil gets a little excited. Soon, his loyalty to his favorite player becomes a dangerous obsession, and soon Gil just becomes a total psychopath. The direction is stylish, the camera angles are so cool, the script is so real and provocative, and the score is one of the best ever. And the following I can promise you: you will NEVER forget the disturbing ending which ironically takes place in Candlestick Park (home of the San Francisco Giants).

Summary: One of De Niro's best!
Review: This movie is a classic! DeNiro gives a chilling performance as an obsessed fan who will do anything to get close to his personal favorite baseball player, played by Wesley Snipes in an equally effective performance. The cinematography is great, and so is the direction by Tony Scott. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR CHILDREN! THE DOMESTIC ISSUES, THE VIOLENCE, AND PROFANITY ARE TOTALLY INAPPROPRIATE FOR KIDS! This one is rough, but it is always fun to watch. Once again, parental discretion is advised.

Summary: Fear Strikes Out?
Review: This movie is greatly played, and they picked the exact actors for this. Gil (Robert DeNiro) is an obsessed Giants fan, and is having trouble with the knife business. His favorite player, Bobby Rayburn (Wesley Snipes) goes into a terrible slump, and Gil, the crazed fan, feels it's up to him to get him out of it. DeNiro plays a great lunatic, and Snipes is just the athletic kind. While it's slightly predictable, it still keeps you on the edge of your seat, and begging for more! Great movie

Summary: Creeeeepy
Review: This movie was completely disturbing. I generally don't go for this genre of movie, but I like the actors so I watched it anyway. I squirmed in my seat the whole time.

Robert DeNiro was excellent as The Average Joe who loses touch with reality as he pummels into the pit of obsession. At first I just felt sorry for the guy, but by then end I nearly jumped out of my skin when the phone rang. This is definitely not your typical good-guy bad-guy movie, these characters are all too real.

This is a great movie if you want to have nightmares, or be leery of pretty much everybody.

Summary: Great movie.
Review: This movie will keep you on the edge of your seat. De Niro will surprise you with several twist and turns. Snipes plays the part of a bseball player and it fits him well. If you like De Niro or Snipes this is one to add to your collection.

The disc itself comes with both widescreen and Full Screen presentations, so it can satisfy both crowds.
