Rating: Summary: The Best Pop Culture Movies Ever! Review: The movie opens with Mickey Knox played by Woody Harrelson and Malory Knox played by Juliette Lewis recalling how the two of them met. As the story opens up the two of them are caught up in a struggle to stay together in a world that wants to break them up. Juilette's character is deeply troubled after years of molestation by her father and Mickey seems at odds with the very fabric of modern society. He loves the expression of animalistic love. Which is portrayed on nature movies in the motel the two of them stayed. The two of them came together and were at the first time in their life whole. Only one thing stood in their way, Mallory's groping father. As Mallory's father- Rodney Dangerfield plays an over weight red meat eating bad ass. Mickey makes short work of the father and the neglectful mom. Which is only the beginning of the bloodshed that will insue as Mickey and Mallory struggle to stay together. The couple end up in Prison after a much publicized murder spree and arrest. Only to escape one year later. In comes Rodney Downey Jr. Who plays a hghly caffeinated Talk show host who is grasping for a show with M&M from with in the walls of Batonga Prison. A show which was also televised to all the inmates in the cafeteria. Micky's frankness about modern society ,the media, and his truth about death cause exhuberation among the inmates and all hell breaks out. This gives M&M there chance to escape with Downey as their hostage and key to freedom. They are finally free and able to live together. Those who classify this movie as sardonic and Bloody, Simply don't get it. Just watch it and think about why their names are M&M. Very interesting....
Rating: Summary: Critising the American Media, and mind. Review: This is one of the most critsing movie that Oliver Stone has made, the portrail of the media in is exadurated, but never the less it still shows the truth with in it. This movie was not made for people that are narrow minded because they would not understand half of what is going on in it. But those how has a wide view of the world will understand the movie. No one has the right to say that any movie that has violence or the glorification of violence it is acountible for the killing of many people, such as the Colorado high school shooting, becuase this movie was made to critisise and not to motivate people to do psycho things such as killig someone. People that usually do stuff like that usually have something wrong with tem and can no longer distinguish from reality and sureality, meaning that they think that what is on the t.v and movies are real. If you are one of the peole that hold acountible for the stupidity of human psychos (killers, rapeist, etc.) you are a narrow mind idoit that don't understand when someone (directors) are critisising society and the media.
Rating: Summary: All the Americans problems in 135 minutes Review: It's a great picutre, from both sides: Stuff related to cinematic language in it. And related to the subject, idea, phylosophy that the film proivdes. First, it's the first time for me to see a director directing in this genius way. Here Oliver Stone invented a new way of expressing thorough cinema. The mixture between B&W, Colored 35mm, colored 16mm and video, provided great hidden meanings, which invite you to watch the film another time to get more of it's meaning. The idea and the subject is so clear and obvious "This is the American media and society, that's how America grows her children." This film is a great invitation to look deep in side the American action inside and outside America. Thank you all.
Rating: Summary: Bathe me with more blood Review: This movie must be blamed on young gunmens shooting fellows in Columbine High. You know what? They LOVE NBK.It's CRAZY.I HATE EVERYTHING THIS MOVIE TALKING ABOUT!
Rating: Summary: For People who believe in media. Review: This film wasn't talking about two serious killer, but talking about the sick mass communication. In these days, Clinton's scandal and bombing Iraq and Yugoslavia, showed what Oliver Stone wanted to say. Mickey and Mallory were expressed as heros of the U.S, because the media made them looked like that. So is American Presidant a hero of war or a sleazy liar in his office? This would depends on which channel you were capturing. I know some people don't believe what I say, but it doen't matter. Because truth is undeniable. In this commercial media culture, the true facts are always shaded by politics, nationalities, ethnics, and races in broadcasting systems. ( Mad City, and The Truman Show had good explainasion, too.) I have to appreciate to Mr. Stone and Tarantino. You spoke what I wanted to say and made it so well.
Rating: Summary: What was the point of this movie?!! Review: Why exactly did they make this film? It wasn't entertaining. It didn't have an interesting story to tell. It didn't bring attention to some serious issue that needs attention. Instead, it's all about a seriously loathsome couple that I found impossible to relate to. When it was finally over I couldn't believe the earlier reviews I had seen that said it was good! Did we see the same movie?!! Surely not!
Rating: Summary: Best Cult film ever Review: This film is very very good, it's a must watch kind of fil
Rating: Summary: this is one hell of a rollercoaster ride Review: iv'e only got one description for this film i'ts crazy ok
Rating: Summary: Very Violent yet interesting. Review: The first time I saw this movie, I almost turned it off due to the violence of it!! And I'm not easily intimidated by violence in movies. But, I kept watching it, and realized that there was a plot to it and how it was making a point of how the media loves violence, and it's true! Juliette Lewis just blew me away with her portrayal of Mallory. She brought vulnerability and sexyness that helped to soften the character.Otherwise, I would'nt have stayed interested in the movie. Woody Harrelson as Mickey was good as well.(but chilling!!) The two had a good onscreen chemistry. What interested me most about this movie was the making of it and the interviews of the cast/crew. I think they could've been more detailed about what it was like to make it.
