Rating: Summary: Do not waste your time with this awful movie Review: Truly a hyped-up piece of trash. Its a shame that Oliver Stone foisted this nightmare upon moviegoers, as if blaming them for its making. With such brilliant films as "JFK" and "Platoon" it truly makes me wonder why he wasted our time. "Natural Born Killers" is shocking, offensive and truly an insult to those who watch it. Just say "no" to this movie. Whatever you do, don't let the kids near it, either.
Rating: Summary: A masterpiece Review: I don`t agree with the guy who said that NBK and JFK are MTV garbage. This film is not only about Media, is about TELEVISION about how people respond to violence. It is an unconventional film, but at this moment almost all the movies from Hollywood copy: the MTV fast style, loudly music, bizarre images, etc. This film is a masterpiece because it show us the truth about television, I saw this truth with my own eyes and you could see it too, if you want to. Oliver Stone show us their hypocrisy and when I saw it in everydaylife, on the news, I stoped watching T.V. You can say freely that this film changed my life. It is not my favorite movie but I think it`s the most important film of the 21 century. JFK is the most powerful film I have seen, with the same hypnotic energy like this one has.
Rating: Summary: NATURAL BORN DEAD MOVIE... Review: It's a shame... I'm not worried about the so called "violence" shown in this movie, It doesn't bother me at all. I'm just shocked by the way Stone aloud his perverted brain to give an old message we all already know: that Media RUles and we all accepted that. All right till now, but the arrogant way he did (the same with "JFK")is shocking, as he sincerely believed he was making a masterpiece, and not only a piece of visual MTV garbage! A film to be watched never again. And some below say it's a masterpiece.. Stone thanks you all !
Rating: Summary: You're lost, little girl. Review: I thought Oliver Stone took a big chance making this kind of movie~(considering both story matter & camera angles/different film stock etc)~ & I believe he accomplished a great film with great acting. I loved it the first time I saw it. Good honest satirical fun with blood n' guts n' donuts.... just don't take it too seriously. Fabulous special features on the DVD. Everything you'd expect to get. Still one of those movies you can watch many times. Highly recommended.
Rating: Summary: Get's better with Every Viewing! Review: This film really does keep getting better and better. I keep finding new lines that make me laugh, new images that shock me. It is one hell of a rollar coaster ride. Natural Born Killers and Fear and loathing in Las Vegas are definately THE most hallucinatory Films of the 90's, possable ever. Woody and Julliette are Brilliant, Mickey and Mallory are the roles of a lifetime. The entire cast are exceptional. Tommy Lee Jones makes his Two-Face role look Subtle and Robert Downey Jr has never been better. Oliver Stone's flashy Directing style was ecential to the film, in any other hands it would probably not have worked. Stand out scenes consist of the Mallory sitcom, (Rodney Dangerfield hasn't been that funny in years) and the prison escape. Love it or loathe it, Natural born Killers is a force to be reconed with. P.S The Directors Cut Is the Best Directors Cut ever Released. Absolutely full of added stuff.
Rating: Summary: Brilliant Review: In an age where films are carbon copies of the last box office hit there are few films that come from Hollywood that try to say anything. This film doesn't talk to you: it punches you in the face. I have always liked Oliver Stone because revisites different themes at a different angle in subsequest films. He did JFK and then he did Nixon, he did Salvador then he did Natural Born Killers. This is his most daring film. Hollywood makes many violent films, but this one is a little unnerving: a bound hostage is raped, a man's head is decapitated, 50 innocent people are killed (not to mention countless prison guards who are tortured in ovens and washing machines). The forementioned scenes were, unfortunatley, all cut from Warner Bros. version, whiche is a shame since so many people will not see the power of Oliver Stone's original vision. It is for this reason that I recommend the Director's Cut to even those have seen the original. See this film.
Rating: Summary: artisticly directed Review: I find that this movie realy protrays what the plot was getting out. Oliver Stone is a genous director with his artistic talent for cinema photography. This really shows throughout this whole film. I recommend this movie to all adults, but if those people can take the violence which this movie defenetly has.
Rating: Summary: Just a stones throw away..... Review: Natural born killers, a satiric pop culture piece enthralled and shocked me. When viewing at my local theatre I saw it three times in succession. I had never seen quite a display of gratuitous violence and was mesmerized by its frantic pace and blistering dramatics. My main, and basically only critical thought would be this: Oliver Stone massacred what was truly a masterpiece of a script penned by Quentin Tarantino. (I know, because I own both scripts.) He, as he and Jane Hamsher mentioned in the bonus footage "created the biggest budget student/experimental film in history". (paraphrased) My response?: Fine, just don't do it to a Quentin script. Whatever Tarantino touches turns to gold while on the other hand my main man Stone seems to have been cursed with a brown thumb -- at least in this instance.......
Rating: Summary: script by Quentin Tarantino, destroyed by Oliver Stone Review: This movie has its moments but they are rare. Oliver Stone could have left the script alone and the movie would have been better for it. Who knows what he's trying to say with this? The movie was not worth the time to try to find out. Do your self a favor and stroll over to the comedy section you'll be glad you skipped this one.
Rating: Summary: killer dvd but. . . Review: Comparing the R-Rated version to the directors cut is like comparing a butter knife to a steak knife.I first saw this movie as an r-rated rental and loved it. I immediately knew this movie was going to be the citizen kane of the nineties. I mean look at these reviews its either 1 star or 5. Citizen Kane got the same if not worse reviews when it came out. The same can be said for Disney's Fantasia (1940).The directors cut is my absolute favorite film of all time. Nothing can compare to this onslaught to the senses. The music is incredible and stones drug hazed perception of society is dead on.Additions to the DVD is obviously the commentary but wheres the 9 inch nails vid and the introduction to the movie? Anyone who is as obsessed about the movie as I am I highly recommend a book called 'Killer Instinct' by Producer Jane Hamsher.
