Summary: Hooray for Poirot
Review: This is a visually-stunning film from beginning to end. The Majorca location is breathtaking. Add to that the superb cast, and you have a dynamite experience. Ustinov is his usual dry, witty self. The supporting cast is great including Maggie Smith, Diana Rigg, James Mason, and Roddy MacDowell. This is adult humour, but not the vulgar kind. It's a class act all the way. Great story, great costumes, and people that can really act their socks off! I watch it again and again.

Summary: Love this movie
Review: This is one of my favorite movies, and I agree with the previous reviewers, but, nobody mentioned the wonderful Cole Porter music and the terrific costumes of the era worn by the cast. I also enjoy the dialogs between Diana Rigg and Maggie Smith and also between James Mason and Sylvia Miles.

Summary: Evil Under The Sun
Review: This is one of my favorite movies. Other actor that play Poirot pale incomparison to Ustinov. The other cast members are outstanding. It will keep you guessing up to the last minute. I have watched this movies more times than I can count and still love it.

Summary: The best
Review: This is the best of all the Ustinov Agatha Christie's. The setting is magnificent and the star studed cast are superb. Maggie Smith is delightful to watch. The twist at the end is what makes this film a classic. also the era that it is set in works well. The long languishing shots help you believe you are on a paradise Island. Overall I give this a 10 out of 10.

Summary: Peter Ustinov returns a second time as "Poirot".
Review: This is the second film with Peter Ustinov as Belgian Detective, Hercule Poirot, since his first, DEATH ON THE NILE (1978). Once again, an all-star cast and a mystery who-done-it. I won't reveal any of the plot. But the delightful Maggie Smith (Murder By Death [1976], California Suite [1978], Death On The Nile [1978]) plays a resort hotel owner on an island of Spain where she banters with Diana Rigg with dislike. It makes the film much more enjoyable. The cast also includes: Jane Birkin, Colin Blakely, Nicholas Clay, James Mason, Roddy McDowall, Sylvia Miles, Denis Quilley and Emily Hone. Other films followed with Ustinov as "Poirot", Thirteen At Dinner (1985-tv), Dead Man's Folly (1986-tv), Murder in Three Acts (1986-tv), Appointment With Death (1988). This DVD also includes the Theatrical trailer, a 16-minutes featurette "The Making of...", and Talent Bios.
For a lighter comedy, may I suggest MURDER BY DEATH (1976).

Summary: Excellent Agatha Christie film
Review: This movie is one of my all-time favorites. It has a wonderful cast and Peter Ustinov might not look like Christie's Poirot but he has beautiful delivery of the lines. Fun from beginning to end and easily watchable over and over again - there's always something new to notice. A very witty and entertaining film.
