Summary: Excellent Movie!!
Review: The Negotiator is one of my favorite movies of all time. Samuel L. Jackson playes a hostage negotiator who is framed for embezzlement and the murder of his partner. Hoping to clear his name, he confronts his boss, only to be attacked and forced into becoming the hostage-taker. This is where the fun begins. Not only is he a hostage negotiator himself, but the team in charge of taking him out is compiled mostly of those he has worked with all of these years. He uses this to his advantage, playing mind games, and staying one step ahead. This movie is full of action and suspense. You may have seen hostage situations portrayed in other films, but nothing compares to the brilliance you will find here.

Summary: "Good but not what I expected..."
Review: Let's face it. The Negotiator is not the best action thriller around. If you are looking for a movie with a lot of action (by that I mean fist-fights, shootouts, and explosions), then this is not the movie for you. The Negotiator is more of a physocological thriller with several bad twists and some good unexpected turns. Though it features a good cast, the story lacks intensity and the script is too long. The Negotiator quickly pulls us in from the beginning and then wastes a good 75 minutes showing how Samuel L. Jackson hijacks a building and takes hostages and then makes his amazing escape. Plot twists like this are horrible because they keep sticking on one main idea, and then BAAM!, the whole concept of the movie switches over. Though supported with a good cast and some good turns, the Negotiator is something you should probably rent before buying.The Negotiator tells the story of Danny Roman (Jackson), a cop from Chicago who learns from his partner that several cops from his group are stealing money from the police fund. But before Jackson could deep digger into the mystery, his partner is brutally murdered and Roman is framed for it. Left with no choice but to prove himself innocent, Roman hijacks a police building. He calls on negotiator Chris Sabian (Kevin Spacey), to help him but for at least half of the movie, we do not know what side Spacey is on. Anyway, the battle soon begins as Roman takes on Sabian in a battle of intelligence. But will Roman have enough time to prove his innocence? As I stated before, the Negotiator is not a must-buy. Catch it on TV some time or rent it but its not worth it. It was a bit boring the first time I watched it. Not recommended but good for a thriller. Movie: The Negotiator

1)No DVD features worth really buying this DVD. I got it for a gift for my husband. A very good movie.

Summary: Cool Movie
Review: This is a great movie to own. I loved it!!! Of course the entire cast really makes this movie better then it should of been. Samuel Jackson and Kevin Spacey made this movie so exciting. I could not even leave from the TV screen, I would of paused it but I just wanted to know what was going to happen next. I would recommend this movie to anyone. I don't think I would pay over [$$$] for any movie, but this is a good film to have in your collection. I suggest to buy a used copy if you never seen this movie before. It is well worth [$$$].

Summary: Here's To Successful Negotiations!
Review: The Negotiator is an action flick starring Samuel L. Jackson and Kevin Spacey. Samuel L. Jackson plays Chicago Police Department Hostage Negotiator, Lt. Danny Roman. Roman is an expert at dissolving critical hostage situations, keeping a level head and making quick on-the-spot decisions. When Roman's partner approaches him with information about money embezzlement within the department, cool methodical Roman decides to investigate. But before he can begin, Roman's partner is killed, and Roman is framed for murder. With no where to go except jail and his back against the wall, Roman does the only thing he can do - He takes the one man he believes responsible for the murder as his hostage. In to talk with Roman about releasing his hostage is Lt. Chris Sabian, played by Kevin Spacey. As the plot thickens, we learn that everyone is suspect, including Roman's friends within the hostage negotiations unit.
Expertly played by Samuel L. Jackson. It seems he can do nothing wrong. Kevin Spacey is excellent as Lt. Sabian. Fast-paced, action-packed, and unpredictable at times, this movie is great for anyone who loves action and suspense.

Summary: See It Because Of Its Cast...
Review: Ace hostage negotiator Danny Roman (Samuel L. Jackson), finds himself framed for embezzlement and murder. Desperate to clear his name and bring in those really responsible for these crimes, he takes hostages, in order to find the guilty parties. As the situation unfolds, Danny demands to speak with only one other person, Chris Sabian (Kevin Spacey). Sabian, a fellow negotiator, must use his witts and skill in order to save lives and Roman's good name. Directed by F. Gary Gray, the film is elevated out of routine, thanks to the work of Jackson and Spacey. The script is pretty predictable and offers nothing new to the action/drama. The film also has a fine supporting cast that includes, the late J.T. Walsh, Ron Rifkin, and John Spencer. The action is staged well and is exciting at times. I just wish the story were better. Spacey and Jackson work so well together though, that I liked the film well enough to recommend it, despite some reservations. The DVD is pretty slim in the way of extras. There are two featurettes on the disc, one deals with the making of the movie, while the other one uses a real life negotiator to give viewers insight into how these brave folks do their job. There are no less than 5 theatrical tailers and standard production notes that round out the DVD. Even with a predictable script, THE NEGOTIATOR, is a good way to spend your time. The standout extra feature on the DVD is that real life look at negotiators and what they do. A rather middle of the road film but overall recommended 3 and a1/2 stars

Summary: What's the opposite of a stretch???
Review: When actors take on a challenging role, they like to talk about what a "stretch" it is for them. What's the opposite? A "shrink"? A "walk through"? Academy Award winner Spacey and nominee Samuel L. Jackson could have phoned in these performances if they had wanted. The fact that they give this otherwise routine action film their best shot speaks volumes for their professionalism and commitment. Of course, it doesn't hurt your career any to demonstrate a little flexibility, and why should all the action flick leads go to lesser actors like Bruce Willis and Sylvester Stallone. And of course, the stellar cast lends the film a certain cachet. It seems to be trying very hard, at least, to be a thinking man's actioner. To some degree, it succeeds, although that may have more to do with the intensity of the stars' performances rather than the script itself. The acting chops are not just limited to the two stars, either. Veteran character actors like John Spencer, J.T. Walsh, David Morse, and Ron Rifkin all turn in fine performances. CSI's Paul Guilfoyle appears in an (unaccountably uncredited) key role. The hostages include two colorful characters played by Siobhan Fallon (who could have waltzed in from a 40s era "working gal" flick) and Paul Giammatti. Wonderful performances all. The cinematgraphy is top notch to boot. Speaking of TV, though, police dramas are one genre where television has it all over the cinema. Why? Well, characterization for one. Despite the all-around good work of the actors here, you can't really say you get to know them in the course of the film's two hours runtime. The obligatory domestic scenes are rushed and way too sketchy (and in the brief scenes with Spacey's charater, his wife and daughter, too cute by about three quarters). A classic TV police drama like NYPD BLUE has the time to develop its characters, and that can make all the difference.

Review: It is a great action movie it is intense in some part but over all it is not a disturbing movie. Samuel L. Jackson does a great job in making you really know what a negotiator does and how suspensefull a hostige situation is. I recomend this movie to any one who like action movies, and if you dont like action movies you should still see it this movie may change your mind about not liking action movies. This movie will change your hole perspective of movies.

Review: This is a movie that you will enjoy. The lead actors in this movie are outstanding. Kevin Spacey and Samuel Jackson are
outstanding in the respective roles. Jackson is falsely accused of pilfering police funds. He decides to take hostages at the police station. Spacey is brought in the negotiate the release of the hostages. From here on the movie never lets up. Jackson
escapes with the help of Spacey and proceeds to capture the real bad guys. This is an exciting movie that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Jackson and Spacey are both outstanding actors who literally make the movie. Buy this and watch it. You will not be dissapointed.
