Summary: "Poorly executed, overlong Bond film."
Review: Bond must stop the maniac Kananga (Yaphet Kotto) from toppling the U.S. economy by giving away free drugs in this poorly executed, overlong Bond film. It's perhaps worth it for some outrageous action scenes, including a wonderfully high-power boat chase. Still, the villians are anything but menacing and the girls are anything but sexy, with Jane Seymour coming off rather wimpy as Solitaire. The plot is just not Bond and the movie is the most dated of all the films, especailly due to the awful, pure '70s music score. Moore is good in his first outing with Guy Hamilton returning to offer some solid direction. Notable, though, is the outstanding title song by Paul McCartney. Not the worst of the series but it's certainly close.

Summary: I say it's the best Bond movie ever, and here's why:
Review: 1. The best Bond theme song ever---"Live and Let Die," by Paul McCartney and Wings. Urgent, chilling, and recurs a lot in the movie. Unlike other classic themes like "Thunderball" and "Goldfinger," it's simply too unusual of a song to have attained any camp value, and thus still commands our attention. 2. The most beguiling Bond girl ever---Jane Seymour (as "Solitaire"), in her first appearance ever on film, by the way (at the age of 20). With apologies to Ursula Andress, Barbara Bach, and Diana Rigg, Seymour is the finest and most complex of the back-in-the-day Bond girls. Only Michelle Yeoh ("Tomorrow Never Dies") is as riveting, but in a very different role. 3. The most comical non-Bond character in a Bond movie---Clifton James (as "Sheriff J.W. Pepper"). His appearance in this film made him so popular that he reprised the same role in "The Man with the Golden Gun." 4. The best Bond villians---The big baddy is played by the estimable Yaphet Kotto. The sub-baddies are the most memorable Bond has ever faced, with the steel-clawed TeeHee, the subdued Whisper (with his dartgun-equipped pimp mobile), and the deliciously insane Baron Samedi (played by Geoffery Holder, known to most Americans for his "Crisp and clean, no caffeine" Seven-Up commercials in the 80s). 5. The most dated premise---Of special appeal to Americans is the early 70s setting of this film. The bad guys are all African-American. They wear pimp costumes. They speak G-rated jive. They drive tricked-out Cadillacs. They eat at the "Fillet of Soul" restaurant. They call Bond a honky. Every black person in the movie seems to be in on the plot. No evil anti-Bond organization is so deliciously outdated and silly as the one we're expected to buy in "Live and Let Die." The only strike against this movie is that James Bond is not played by Sean Connery. However, Roger Moore (in his first Bond movie) is restrained and charming and doesn't detract from the film's atmosphere. The whole is not perfectly equal to the sum of the parts, but the parts alone are enough to make this my choice for the best Bond Movie ever.

Summary: THE BEST BOND FLICK EVER!!!!!!
Review: Roger Moore's performance as 007 in this film really changed from Sean Connery's acting as 007 in the prevous film, Diamonds Are Forever. Moore is more with car chases and the women that Sean was, and that's what makes him awesome. In this movie, 007 is sent to find the man responsible for killing two British Agents, and he finds the man responsible, Kananga. Kananga is trying to get the whole USA hooked on heroine, and Bond is the only one who can stop him! He gets the help of card dealer Solitare, the hottest babe in any of the movies!!! Some of Kananga's henchman are: Teehee, a man who got his right arm bit off by a crocodile and now has a dangerous steel arm that can cut anything! Also is Baron Semidi, the voodoo weirdo. Some gadgets are Bond's magnetic wrist watch, and a gun that has gas pellets as bullets. A great movie, must watch!!!!!

Summary: A good intro but a mixed bag.
Review: Moores first outing as Bond so I will forgive him for not instantly slipping into the role. However he did say " My names Bond...James Bond." rather well for his first time. The movie has moments of brilliance and moments of pure silliness. The level of humour was a little much for my liking and left me feeling that the film was lacking. The villians are good and I just love the voodoo Baron. It was interesting to see Bonds flat and it wasn't the first time. Overall the film is enjoyable but it isn't the best. The DVD is excellent and the commentary and documentary are very interesting and well worth a watch just for them.

Summary: Best of Bond
Review: Live and Let Die is a great example of the Bond saga, and is better than most of the Moore era. The usual suspects are here, car chases, evil criminal, and luvly laydeez. In this case the glamour is supplied by Jane Seymour as Solitaire, the only woman whose dress doubles as her chair (wierd). The funeral scene is still one of the most surreal. The soundtrack to the film reminds you that this film is well rooted iin the 70s, the 1st Bond to have funky music in the background! The plots not hot, but the action is!

Summary: The weakest Bond!
Review: Moore was excellent, considering the uneven script and weak supporting cast (excluding the ongoing British cast of characters,i.e.,Moneypenny,etc.). The sets and special effects were definitely "cheap" and "low tech". I was reminded of a cross between 70's blaxploitation movies,THE DUKES OF HAZZARD, and 60's TV spy shows! Lets not forget George Martin's generic and mundane music score either! The movie is for the "diehardest" of Bond fans, such as myself!

Review: Roger Moore makes this movie his perfect bond debute, the excellent story Live and Let Die. With awesome chase scenes memorable villians and a fresh bond face, this movie is my favorite bond ever. Not to mention Paul Mc. theme song. The underground drug trade in this movie with its network of spies and assasins makes this movie nothing but suspenceful. I loved it and so will you

Review: LALD is by far the best ever!! You know it's going to be great from the moment it starts with the BEST opening song in any bond film! Then it comes with great action, stunts and laughs (Sherrif J.W. Pepper!)! Jane Seymour is the best bond girl as Solitaire, who bond wins over to the side of good. Roger Moore gives a more than convincing performance as bond and sets a perfect balance between laughs and seriousness. So far he is my favourite actor. If you are a bond lover, this is a must-have!!!!!!!!!!

Review: Although Live And Let Die is very dated and cartoonish,I found myself intersted in this film because Roger Moore is a funny Bond. Here he only has one real memorable scene as bond . He seems to pretty and tame to beat peeople up.Yet, it its this stillness which make him such an effcetive bond later on.
