Rating: Summary: This is True Romance... Review: True Romance is one of the greatest films I have ever seen. With a star packed cast including Brad Pitt(seven, fight club),Patrica Arquette(Stigmata,Goodbye lover)and the gorgeous Christian Slater(Heathers, untamed heart).I found the film so sweet and I have since recomended it to all my friends. The storyline it's self was brillant.Clarence Whorley (Slater) is an amazing guy who falls in love with call girl Alabama (Arquette),he marries her and confronts her pimp "just to get her clothes" but he ends up killing him and leaving with a bag full of coke. Now the two newly-weds travel to L.A to sell the coke, but little do they know there are lots of angry gangsters who want their coke back, chasing them around. This film is NOT to be missed!!!
Rating: Summary: True Romance is the best movie ever! Review: Beautiful people, tons of death, romance, excitement, adventure, love and Brad Pitt with a honey bear bong. What more could you possibly need?
Rating: Summary: Why the Directors Cut is A Far Better Movie........... Review: I saw this DVD @ a friends home. I wore two VHS tapes out of this movie....and this was after taping them onto blank tapes, so as not to ruin the originals. This movie, along with Natural Born Killers, are my favorite bedtime movies. I would love to buy the directors cut of this DVD, but will not by one until I see it. I must admit, I am intrigued at the thought of seeing it letterboxed. Please get a letterboxed directors cut in so I can buy it from you. "You see, he bought this ring for his sweetheart. He wears it on a chain around his neck until this dirty Kraut rips it off and it falls into the sea...He dives in after it....isn't that cool?"
Rating: Summary: Amazing Movie, OK DVD Review: I discovered this movie strolling though the video store in the summer of 1994. Am I ever glad that I did. I don't want to discuss the plot at all, just buy it. Hurry! 4 Stars due to lack of extras. I almost gave it a 5 anyways since the movie is so good. Instead I reserved the extra star in case they release a Super Deluxe Kitchen Sink Edition including a Sonny Chiba film collection.
Rating: Summary: BYPASSED GEM Unreal movie Review: WHat can I say about this movie, except fot the fact that its awesome. The genre type of movie sort of lists it in a class with Pulp Fiction meets a Dark love story. I was over my friends house one night and we were just hanging out. We deceided to get a movie and we went with this one. First of all the acting is really well done. The story line revolves around a hooker that falls for a regular guy, and in the process drags all of her dirty laundry into his life. The story is fast paced and interesting. I love movies and this made it into my top ten. This is a fly by gem that seemed never really to have made it. In my opinion , BUY IT even if your not a movie buff. The Elvis scenes are awesome. Gary Oldman can play any role. In this movie he is a rastifarian pimp. Its halarious. What a great flick. 5 STARS!
Rating: Summary: "Hokey Dokey Doggie Daddy" Review: Tarantino does his magic on this script, which is less complex than his other films, but quite a bit more fun. He didn't direct, but Tony Scott (Spy Game, Top Gun) did and he knows what he's doing. The movie is a rollercoaster ride of funny scenes and gunplay, with some big name actors to boot. Patricia Arquette and Christian Slater are very good together, and were cast perfectly. I like the scenes where Elvis talks to Clarence. They're quite funny, and whoever plays Elvis (Think Batman) does a great impression. This is a good movie to watch with friends, and 've actually found it to be a good date movie. I recommend this to action fans, romance fans, drama fans, comedy fans... Hell, why doesn't everyone just go see True Romance?
Rating: Summary: 25 Word Or Less Review Review: Raucus but truly dumb action/romance/comedy that makes for a wild ride. Garth Ennis fans will notice how much that Brit "borrowed" from Tarantino.
Rating: Summary: Been done before, and better... Review: I can't believe no one mentions the film that this one almost directly copies...all the way down to Elvis and a grotesque killer-for-the-joy-of-it. Yeah, "True Romance" is good, especially the fringe characters played by Gary Oldham, Michael Rapaport, Bronson Pinchot, and especially Christopher Walken and Dennis Hopper (their scene together is truly brilliant). But three years earlier, David Lynch made the same twisted movie and called it "Wild at Heart". Nicholas Cage and Laura Dern are far more compelling than the rather plastic Christian Slater and Patricia Arquette (who must have studied Dern's performance, she's so much like her). And style? Tarantino and Tony Scott are no match for David Lynch, and if you like outrageous, over-the-top performances, Willem Dafoe's Bobby Peru is even more memorable (and terrifying) than Oldham's Drexel. In addition, "True Romance" lacks a truly dark center, which WAH had in spades with Diane Ladd (who received an Oscar nomination for her vicious work). Enjoy and appreciate "True Romance" if you like -- and I DO enjoy it. But don't call it brilliant (I can't) until you've seen "Wild at Heart" -- and after that you won't want to.
Rating: Summary: Great movie Review: Ok - so you like high violence, gore, and lots and lots of curse words. I'll assume you are a guy. Let me tell you - this is THE perfect chick flick man, THE perfect one. When I think of it, I compare it to a successful Bonnie and Clyde Movie. I'm not going to elaborate on that, it could spoil the movie. The cast is great. Many small parts by such great actors. Val Kilmer is a character and you never clearly see his face for example. Again, a very good movie. You have violence, gore, and cursing for the guys, and a chick romance story for the chicks. If I were to pick the downsides to this movie, I would have to say this. The movie soundtrack theme - is [awful]. It's some kind of 80's xylophone [stuff]. Other than that? nope. Highlights of this movie would of course be the end gunning down scene. The fight between alabama and a mob boss. and the pimp fight scene.
Rating: Summary: One of the best.. Review: The title, 'True Romance', threw me at first. So I didn't actually catch it in the theatre (it only lasted 2 weeks at our local cinema). I watched it as soon as it came out on video and loved it so much i imported the unrated Laser Disk, then last year grabbed the DVD. No other movie since has had such effect on me, this is the BEST movie iv'e ever seen and it holds up now as well as it did in '94.
