Summary: Poor Acting, Poor Shark make for a Poor Movie
Review: "Jaws 2" is not worthy of its name, although its characters, setting and score are all derived directly from "Jaws." Based initially upon characters in Peter Benchley's novel, "Jaws 2" is awash with stereotyped caricatures rather than realistic, convincing characters. It is overflooded with visuals of the mechanical shark, which take away from its enigmatic, ominpresent quality. Richard Dreyfuss and Robert Shaw created a raw charismatic energy and made chemistry between themselves and Roy Scheider in the original "Jaws." Although Scheider is a brilliant actor, he has no complex, layered characters to play off of and is left to carry the motion picture by himself. Matt Hooper (Dreyfuss' character in the original) is alledgedly conversing via the phone with Brody (Scheider's character)'s wife, but is never scrutinized nor heard by the audience. Acting is reacting and Scheider is in his own field here, creating uncomfortable situations between him and his costars. This is not a worthy successor of Steven Speilberg's cinematic masterpiece "Jaws."

Summary: Jaws 2 Delivers!
Review: Jaws 2 IS the only worthy sequel to Jaws. While not as good as Jaws, it has plenty of drama, scares and excitement. Jaws 3 is boring and Jaws The Retarded, I mean Jaws The Revenge was a complete waste of $23 million dollars.

Review: Simply stated, Jaws 2 is the only good Jaws sequel. The acting is much better than Jaws 3 and Jaws The Repulsive, er Jaws The Revenge. Its really nice to see Amity again. There are plenty of thrills and chills. John William's last Jaws score is very good. The main problem is that the climax is weak and some of the teenagers are a bit iritating. Although Jaws is much better, I enjoyed Roy Shieder's more commanding performance in Jaws 2 than his performance in Jaws. The sheriff's sons take on a much bigger role here than in Jaws. They are prominentely featured in the next 2 Jaws sequels. Mark Gruner(Mike) and Marc Gilpin(Sean), who play the sons in Jaws 2, are probably the best Michael and Sean.

Summary: One of the best attempts to sequal a great movie
Review: In an age were sequals have destroyed great movies Jaws 2, is not that bad. Unlike the original Jaws which is more of an adventure movie than horror, Jaws 2 is purely a horror movie. This second massive man eating great white shark to visit the small New England spends a majority of the movie stalking a group of teenagers (like in other '80s horror flicks such as the Friday the 13th, Halloween, and A Nightmare on Elm Street series). All and all its not that bad.

Review: Ok, if you can somehow forget this is a sequel to Jaws and just accept this movie on its own, it really is a fairly decent movie. There are plenty of quality scare moments and Roy Scheider is terrific once again as Brody. Much better than the silly Jaws 3D and the absolutely ridiculous Jaws Revenge. Still, for those who somehow think this is better than Jaws, you are either very very young or just fooling around. Jaws is one of the greatest movies ever. Jaws 2 is just a decent scare flick and thats all.

Review: I thought JAWS 2 was a lot better than JAWS and JAWS 3-D. Jaws 2 was about another shark starts to feed on teenagers. At the end it was cool how they killed Jaws. The only thing bad about the movie was that it didn't have a very good plot. The acting was so good and realistic. The movie was actually SCARY.
