Summary: Awesome! Give it a try!
Review: I loved this movie. I don't know what it was, but it was really good. I thought it had a good story and it was really cool, it kept me on the edge of my seat. Yeah, yeah, some parts are unlikely, but hey, it's a movie! Enjoy it!

Summary: Dissapointing
Review: I was really expecting a kick ass movie when i checked out this DVD. Wow! What a surprise I was in for. It's approximately 2 hours long and it's breaks down like this; about an an hour and a half of mind numbingly boring (as well as pointless) build up and about 25 min. of some decent action. This is totally watered down. There's not a drop of blood in this entire movie, and mad props go out to you if you are able to make it through the 95 min. of introducing the team members, SWAT combat training, etc. without falling asleep. I realized that this movie could have been awesome, as I saw a car blown up by a rocket launcher. Too bad those parts happend once in a blue moon in this film. Now, I don't want to ruin it for anyone but the main bad guy (international druglord) in this movie punishment is...... a trip to tighter secured jail? AWESOME! An ending that befits the entire movie.

Summary: BEST MOVIE OF SUMMER 2003
Review: There were so many good movies that came out during the summer of 2003. So many good flicks like Bad Boys II, Matrix Reloaded, Freddy Vs Jason, Terminator 3 but out of all of them, S.W.A.T. was the best. I do not care what anybody says, S.W.A.T. was favorite movie of summer 2003. I walked into the movie theater wanting to S.W.A.T., my brother wanting to see Johnny English. We couldn't go in different theaters because they would end at different times so he decided to give JE and see S.W.A.T. Whe it was over, he said "THAT WAS GOOD" And sometime later we saw Johnny English and he said it wasn't as good as S.W.A.T. Believe me when say that this movie IS that good. I just got the dvd yesterday, and I've already watched it twice. Of all of Colin Farrell's movies like Daredevil and Phone booth (which both were also great), this is his best film. Anyway here is the plot.
A bank robbery takes place and things become very intense. The robbers have dangerous weapons and are on the verge of killing a hostage. That is when a S.W.A.T. teams cmes in to save the day. Two S.W.A.T. team members , Jim Street(Colin Farrell) and Brian Gamble (Jeremy Renner) are sent in the bank. There order was to go in but stand down. The 2 of them knew if they did that, the hostages would die, so they defied to order and took out the bad guys themselves. In the process, they shot a hostage. The 2 of them are kicked off the S.W.A.T. team and Gamble ,being very angry with the decision, leaves the LAPD.
For the next 6 months, Street trains himself to get back in S.W.A.T This what the first half of the movie is based on. While he is training, an old school S.W.A.T. Sgt,Dan "Hondo" Harrelson (Samuel L. Jackson) comes to join the LAPD. He is asigned to put together a SWAT team that he picks and trains. He decides to recruit 2 suggested cops T.J. McCabe Josh Charles and Michael Boxer (Brian Van Holt), 2 rookies Chris Sanchez (Michelle Rodriguez) and Deke kay (LL Cool Jay), and last but not least- Jim Street!! The team spends their training to getb into Swat, do things like practice at a shooting range, and practice drills with smoke. Then comes their test which through hard work and integrety; they pass.
The second half of the movies is based on their first assingment. It turns out that while they were training, the police had unwittingly been holding a major Druk kingpin named Alex montel (Olivier Martinez). Montel is a rich man who has done so many bad things that not even his money can get him out of jail. He is wanted in over 10 states! Their assignment is tranfer Montel into a federal prison but they've got a problem. Montel has offered anybody 100 million bucks if they get him out jail. Now every atttempt to get transport him they are interupted by thugs who carry heavy artillary. Almost every moment, machine guns are fired, cars get exploded, and it seems like there in not one civilan who can be trusted. And things tend to get more intense when operation goes down to get Montel out of jail because the leader of the operation is an ex-swat team member!
Overall, S.W.A.T. was an awesome action flick. Probobly the best cop movie ever. I reccomend this movie to anyone who loves action. The back of the moviecover, it says "A Solid Action Movie with alot of Heart and Soul"- Richard Reoper. Believe, this movie is definetly like that. Get it now!

Summary: D.U.M.B.
Review: I will put this in 8 words: I WOULDN'T WISH THIS ON MY WORST ENEMY. My brother just brought it home a few weeks ago and I wanted to see it. Boy was I dissapointed. It's basically a group of barely trained wild young men(and a woman) who end up on S.W.A.T After accepting the offer from The Leader(Samuel L. Jackson.) Colin Farell is the take in charge talented favorite, L.L Cool J is the black guy with muscles and Miguel Rodriguez is the beautiful one the hero falls in love with. They are assigned to escort a prisoner( Who has just offered 100,000,000 to any one who breaks him free.) To a jail. In short words, All Hell breaks loose. Bad acting, O.k plot but slow, Terrible.

Summary: S.W.A.T. = Simply Watchable And Trite
Review: There's little to be remembered here: a formula cop story about the L.A.P.D.'s S.W.A.T. team. What's ironic about that is that S.W.A.T. deals with events and situations that are everything but formulaic, but a few more drafts on the script might've elevated this good-cop-bad-copy film from just average cinema fare to something worthy of a franchise launch. Samuel L. Jackson and Colin Farrell are actors worth watching ... it's too bad the script didn't give them much more invigorating S.W.A.T. work to do.

Summary: No improvement on the TV series
Review: Since Samuel L Jackson was in this film I gave it a chance. My mistake.
I want the 117 minutes of my life back that I wasted on this film.
I guess I can't get that refund I did watch the whole thing. But I kept thinking this will get better and it never does.
Almost none existant plot, silly action scenes.
I would never recommend this to anyone.
If you think I'm off the mark, look at how many used copies of this dvd are for sale, and the low price they are going for. Good movies hold their value.
If you have to see this thing rent it, cut your losses.

Summary: The best movie
Review: SWAT is the best that I would suggest people see because it is a best police movie to see if you want to go in the police force and if you want to see what they go thought on the force fighting the battle against the gungs and when they take down the people they are look for and if they don't find you they will get you soon and you don't known when they are coming for you and they might come at night or day you just don't how they coming when they are coming so if you do drugs they will find you and take you down and if you run from them they will be waiting for you at the coner if the street but you just might get hit hard and you might not known what hit you so just don't run and they would not hit you if you just give up and just let them in your house with any trouble with them and they with not have problem with you too.Talk to me at jtp1988_2002@amazon.com

Summary: Great action, but short on story
Review: I've never watched the TV show and have nothing to compare this to, but I truly enjoyed the film version, "SWAT". It had some fun action sequences that just make you want to sit back and enjoy without thinking too hard.

As the title suggests, the focus is on the LA SWAT team. A veteran of the LA police force is given the opportunity to create his own unit and he picks five of the best to join him. Most of the film is relegated to showing thier training situations while combating the internal pressures to perform. When they are asked to help transport an international prisoner to a secure facility, however, they are truly put to the test. Espcially when the prisoner offers $100 million to anyone who can break him out.

This movie is best if not taken too seriously. You will enjoy it if you are a fan of the action genre, that's for sure. There are several worthwhile extras to make this a DVD worth seeing.

Summary: Its kinda good
Review: This isn't the kind of movie where the cops paint the walls with blood ( unfortunately ).

There are a few nice action scenes, but nothing that will make you jump out of your seat.

I guess this is a good movie to buy if you want some motivation to join the police force.
