Rating: Summary: MY FAVORITE Review: The best movie about friends you'll ever see. The acting is outstanding and some scenes are funny, sad, and wrentching to watch. Words can't describe how good the acting is if I could i would give it 100000 out of five. Nothing's better. M. TRITTIN
Rating: Summary: Touching Review: I saw this movie when I was about 12 or 13 and I remember being really touched by the story. Very sad at times a little distrubing.
Rating: Summary: fairly good Review: I thought that this was a great moving about children coming of age and learning about the difficulties of adult life. It has some deep and meaningful themes and to truly understand the film you would need to watch it more than once. But it still is a great movie if you want some cheap laughs. All the characters are excellently portrayed which makes all the events believable. The film very easy to watch and you aren't forced to cringe at the attempts of humour committed by the cast. I believe the settings and the storyline play an important part in this movie and even though I had to watch this movie in an English class I would still watch it again. The camera angles and screen play help to accentuate the authentic feel of this extremely well made movie.
Rating: Summary: If you haven't seen this, you are deprived of soul Review: Maybe it's because I'm a sucker for nostalgia, but I really love this movie. It was made a mere 4 years after I was born, and is set in a time period several decades BEFORE I was born, but it's evocations of American pre-pubesecenthood are timeless. The best feature of the film is the relationship between Chris (a stunningly and subtly talented River Phoenix) and Gordie (Wil Wheaton), especially their last scene together. ...
Rating: Summary: Great Movie .. Recommended! Review: My mother and I decided to rent this movie after watching the TV show, I Love the 80's. I think it was one of the best movies I've ever seen. It's basically 4 boys and how they are best friends. They go out on a 2 day adventure to find a dead body, but they uncover some horrible truths about themselfs and their lives. With Corey Feldman and River Phoneix, you cannot go wrong. The movie was humorous and heartbreaking. You laugh and you cry. This is one movie that I will always love, and never mind watching again.
Rating: Summary: the best movie ever Review: this movie was the best that i've ever seen!! river pheonix, jerry o'connell, corey feldman, wil wheaton, and kiefer sutherland were amazing!!! i'd see this movie again and again!
Rating: Summary: EXCELLENT!! Review: I love this film. It shows an unbreakable relationship between 4 young transitioning people. All of them go through things that change their lives, and I just love to see what happens!
Rating: Summary: Not Very Good Review: Four boys in a small town in Oregon set out to find a dead body of a kid who was killed quite a while before. On thier adventure, they discover something that they never knew existed. That is thier extreme friendship. They all help each other out in this movie. It's deffinetly not my favorite movie, but if your looking for a film to see because you can't find any others. I'd try this movie.
Rating: Summary: Very Best Review: Stand By Me is one of the best coming of age movies. It really touches your heart. The story of the four boys helps you understand different real life situations. In the scene where Chris (River Phoenix) cries, you know that he is a boy who has a bad reputation because of his brothers, but deep down he is a very sensitive and loving kid. It is also a movie with an adventure to it. Normally when you think about a movie about boys, it has an adventure involved. Stand By Me is great and once you see the movie, the book is also great to read. The book is titled "The Body", by the excellent author, Stephen King and can be found in his book "Different Seasons."
Rating: Summary: great movie! Review: Stand by Me is a movie based on Stephen King's short story the Body, but it is not a horror movie.Stand by Me is a drama about 4 friends, one of the boys overhears his brother talking about stealing a car,and a kid getting hit by a train because of it,so the 4 friends go on an adventure to find the body.AT first they want to find the body to get reconition for finding it,but on their adventure and the experiences they go through help them to grow up a bit and think about what's really important. This is a great movie adventure/drama about friendship and life.Stand by Me is a good movie for the whole family, just rated R for some course language.
