Summary: Excellent Movie
Review: I will not spoil the movie's story line for you but I will tell you that this movie is similar somewhat to the Fugitive. Tommy Lee Jones plays a similar role in this movie. Tommy Lee and Ashley Judd are both excellent. I really enjoyed this movie and have recommended it to many. If you enjoyed The Fugitive, you will love movie.

Summary: Is Tommy Lee Jones getting pigeonholed?
Review: This movie reads an awfull lot like _The Fugitive_ as rewritten by Gloria Steinam. We even get a drunk and divorced version of Sam Gerrard, played ironically enough by Tommy Lee Jones.So here is the story. Innocent woman convicted of murdering her husband. While in jail she finds out that her husband is still alive, and has taken their son. Upon getting out this woman, played by Ashley Judd, decides to find her husband and get her son back. In her way is her parole officer, played by Tommy Lee Jones. Folks there are defintely some places where you are going to have to suspend your disbelief. The first being how incredibly easy it was for her to find her husband. If it was that easy, then how in the world did the police not find him and release her? If you can get by the above as well as a few others this is not a bad movie. It's no _Fugitive_ but it's not bad.

Summary: Functional by the numbers joiner of dots film
Review: A passable time filler, which joins the dots nicely. Within half anhour, we've had the supposed murder, trial, incarceration and releaseinto the community on parole. No point wasting any more time on allthat say I.A quick summary of the plot: Ashley Judd is framed forthe murder of her husband, who disappears from their boat and leavinga lot of blood. ....The problem with this film is that it seems to be running onsome very fuzzy logic. The whole "Double Jeopardy" principlethat everyone quotes.... I'mno lawyer but even to me that sounds highly unlikely. ....But then, this is one of those films that yougo to see that you don't think too hard and it moves painlesslyenough. Every part of the film is done as quickly and functionally aspossible. Tommy Lee Jones delivers no less than you'd expect playinghimself and Ashley Judd is always a pleasure to watch.

Summary: A Wild Ride With Judd and Jones
Review: Ashley Judd stars as Libby Parsons, a woman out for justice after being wrongly accused of her husband's murder in "Double Jeopardy," a thriller from director Bruce Beresford. Libby is happily married and living in the Seattle area with her husband, Nick (Bruce Greenwood), and their four-year-old son, Matty (Benjamin Weir). Nick, however, is in big financial trouble, and they are about to lose everything; and Libby knows nothing about it. Under pretense of buying her a boat, Nick takes Libby sailing, alone. During the night he disappears, leaving behind evidence of his apparent murder, and orchestrating it to incriminate Libby. When she is convicted and sent to prison, Matty goes to stay with a family friend, Angela (Annabeth Gish), who disappears with the boy a month later. Adamant in her quest to locate Angela by tracking her through a series of phone numbers, she finally succeeds; and also discovers that Nick is still alive. And with Angela. Frustrated in her attempts to get someone to listen to her story, Libby can do nothing but serve her time, and wait. After serving six years in prison, she is paroled, and begins searching for her son, armed with a useful bit of information she learned on the inside: The law of Double Jeopardy; since she's already been convicted of killing her husband, she cannot be tried for it again, even if she shoots him in front of a crowd in the middle of Times Square. She does have one more problem, though. Her parole officer, Travis Lehman (Tommy Lee Jones) is out to track her down for violating her parole, and If he catches her, she'll go back to prison. Outstanding performances by Judd and Jones highlight this film, along with some nice touches by Beresford in keeping the tension high while moving it along at just the right pace. Judd makes Libby believable, infused with a vulnerability and determination that makes you pull for her; she's a strong woman who's been wronged, and you desperately want to see her get her life put back together. Jones is convincing as the hard-as-nails Lehman, who doesn't see parole as a second chance, but as a "last" chance. Beneath it all, however, you know that this is a man who also believes in justice, and will do what he can to make it so. Greenwood gives just the right touch of boorishness to Nick; he's like the successful used-car salesman you never want to have to deal with, and you wait for the moment when Libby will finally get her crack at him. The supporting cast includes Annabeth Gish (Angela), Michael Gaston (Cutter), Roma Maffia (Margaret) and Davenia McFadden (Evelyn). In a world in which the unjust too often prevail, it is gratifying to at least see the attempt made of putting things to right. "Double Jeopardy" does just that; it takes you on a wild ride and gives you hope at the same time. Maybe it's only a movie, but it's a good one. And sometimes, that'll just have to do.

Review: How could her husband be so self-centered and uncaring. But he was! You get what you get when what comes around goes around. Ashley is so beautiful and I love her voice. Tommy Lee is good at being all about his job.

Summary: You GO GiRL!
Review: Though 'Double Jeopardy' is completely fake, and probably could never happen the way it did in the movie, the intelligient audience will understand that after seeing the first Twenty minutes of this movie. Holding still, 'Double Jeopardy' is pretty awesome and Tommy Lee Jones gives another good performance. Though the film is mainly out there to make money, and it definitely was suceeded in that, it does more. Ashley Judd is also really good.

Summary: Ashley Judd delivers!
Review: This is one of the best action-packed films I have seen in recent years. The real treat in this film is Ashley Judd. Her charisma is amazing. But Tommy Lee Jones is, despite his talent, mediocre in this film. I don't know why, but his performance is not very impressive in this film.Despite Jones's mediocre performance, the movie was fun to watch. After being framed, Judd's character wants revenge, but most importantly she wants her son back. This is a great movie, and Ashley Judd makes it even greater.

Summary: A very entertaining thriller
Review: Double Jeopardy isn't exactly one those edge of your seat thrillers but it's always consistently entertaining and it's made better by two great leading performers. Sure, the film bears a lot of similarities to The Fugitive but the lack of originality doesn't make this a film any less fun to watch. Of course, the best thing this film offers is Ashley Judd, who is without a doubt, one of the (if not the) most beautiful actresses working today. She delivers a superb performance that's actually Oscar worthy. I liked the fact that her character thought her way through each situation. Tommy Lee Jones is good, as usual, though not at his scene stealing best. Still, he's one of the best actors of all time and he doesn't hurt himself with this film. Double Jeopardy has enough suspenseful moments, intelligence, good acting, and competent direction to keep viewers interested. It's definitely, at the very least, worth a rental.

Summary: A Disappointment
Review: This movie had an absolutly fantastic story line. BUT, this movie did not live up to its story. Ashley Judd was pretty good and the raged wrongly-convicted mother. Tommy Lee Jones didn't have a very big part. It was very unrealistic at times. Jones always knows exactly where in the country Judd's character would be. This is a fun movie, but don't expect anything special.

Summary: Riveting
Review: I've read the negative reviews. I know that some of this movie is a little far fetched. I also know that this movie is riveting, suspenseful, well directe, acted and is spellbinding. Beautiful Ashley Judd is perfectly cast as woman who goes to the prison for the murder of her husband. Only her husband isn't dead, a fact she doesn't find about until AFTER she's incarcerated. This is so different than all the other women-in-prison movie's out there. I will admit this B-movie material, but it's B-movie material with an A-movie budget and cast. It is done straightforward and with no apologies. And none are needed. This is a good movie. We see Ashley transform from victim to vigilante. It's the role of a lifetime. Seeing Ashley sink her claws into this meaty role proves shes an actress to contend with. She's here to stay. The movie does drag a bit in it's third quarter, but that's such a minor complaint. You're pretty much on the edge of your seat throughought the entire film. And when I originally saw this movie in Theaters, the entire audience was in it's grip. It's good to hear an audience clap at the end of movie. That's like giving a performer a standing ovation. I salute this wonderful film.
