Summary: Best British film of all time
Review: Danny Boyle directs this fabulous film about 3 flatmates who find there new flatmate dead with a suitcase full of money . The film then becomes a superb thriller with many a laugh . The acting is superb by all three of the main stars and Kieth Allen (Hugo) is possibly the greatest actor to date . John Hodge's fabulous screenplay keeps you on the edge of your seat and a marvoluos contrast of characters and a surprise ending make it all the more enjoyable . One of the greatest films ever made . A film that shows just how much people can change .

Summary: WOW!!
Review: Danny Boyle has made a remarkable masterpiece titled "Shallow Grave". It's the best thriller made in a long time. Disturbing for its violent content at times, Shallow Grave provides what it's supposed to. Very haunting soundtrack works well with the amazing cinematography. Love this movie! A must see!!

Summary: Very, very shallow
Review: Director Danny Boyle and screenwriter John Hodge have proved that they make a great team on their others films like "A Life Less Ordinary" and "The Beach".

But, this first film of theirs -- a moody thriller about greed and mistrust -- completely misses the mark. I never found myself caring about any of the three main characters and I was quickly hoping that they would kill each other and end the movie.

Danny Boyle shows off his brilliant camerawork in this debut film, but the unfocused story seems to enjoy showing us just how gloomy the weather in Scotland is.

The camerawork and editing shows, once again, that director Boyle works well with restrictions and a small budget. But, this story is so poorly written that the film is difficult to enjoy.

Avoid this film, and check out the filmmakers other, better films.

Summary: A Gem
Review: Great movie by Danny Boyle with many great twists and turns. Not very highly promoted but worth a purchase at almost any price.

Summary: If you like dismembering room mates the is the movie for u!
Review: Greed, murder, blood and the Scottish way of life reign over this movie. A tight group of 3 friends froth over the fact that a new room mate dies and leaves a suitcase full of cash. The friendship becomes strained after they have to cut his hands and feet off his body just to keep the money. In the climactic end, the greed over welms them and the ending is as shocking as the story to begin with.

Summary: Greatest movie ever!
Review: Hello Inspector..I saw this movie with my friend and I thought it was really funny and smart. Cameron was the man! (you know if you've seen it) Ewan Mcgregor's chracter Alex is so cool and made the whole movie! Very smart. It'll be alright mummy

Summary: Boring, Lethargic, Unconvincing, Over-Hyped Rubbish
Review: I absolutely hated this film. I can see what all the fuss was about though. When a film brands itself "contraversial", "hip" and "different" it is bound to be popular even without proper scrutiny. For a start the plot is predictable and slow (McGregor, Fox and Eccleston spend ages interviewing and intimidating prospective new flatmates which is just unbelievably tedious) and all the characters in this film are deeply unpleasent, vicious people for whom I felt no sympathy. Add that to poor storyline development, an unconvincing and irritating affair between Fox's character and both male leads and you have a complete hour and a half of garbage.

Summary: Well Worth the Watch!
Review: I confess: I watched Shallow Grave for the simple fact that it had Ewan MacGreggor in it. I had heard whisperings about scenes that no ewan-phile should miss, and eagerly trotted out to grab a copy.

What I found was a fascinating movie that held my attention and imagination from start to finish. There were times that I was terribly confused from hard cuts between scenes, but in retrospect I have understood what was going on. It's one of those movies that you have to pay full attention to, or risk missing too much.

The changes that the three protagonists go through are human, understandable changes, though not necessarily easily foreseen. And I must say that the ending (without giving away too much) was VERY well done.

I give Shallow Grave 3 stars out of 5 for a plot that may have been a bit too convoluted but was fascinating nonetheless, and for characters that I would have liked to understand a bit more of, since the teasers of their lives were just enough to have me asking for more.

Summary: great, Great, GREAT MOVIE!!!
Review: I first read a review of this movie in an "interesting-new-up-and-coming-actors-horror" review that included two other movies I've yet to find interest in... (This was Ewan BTS [Before Trainspotting - another instant classic by the same team.]) The first time I caught this movie was late-night Showtime and I fell in love with it on the spot - the acting, the attitude, the score, in a word, tremendous! So if you're searching for a flick you haven't seen and you like a little gothic Scottish film noir, this is the movie for YOU! Also, the soundtrack is fabulous - a fine mix of semi-classical piano, dance, and even a little Nina Simone. Pick it up!!

Summary: Intense, Dark & Funny
Review: I found "Shallow Grave" much more palatable than "Trainspotting," which was made by the same folks. This movie really draws from the darker side of the human psyche to show how greed can make you do things you would never do otherwise. A good comparison would be "A Simple Plan," which had the same basic theme. The humor in this film helps to break up the tension, but the suspense keeps a grip on you until the very end. Though not completely original, I found it highly entertaining.
