Summary: A WONDERFUL LITTLE GEM OF A FILM.
Review: THIS IS AN AWESOME MOVIE THAT FAR TOO FEW PEOPLE KNOW ABOUT. TARA REID (VICKI FROM THE AMERICAN PIE MOVIES) GIVES A SUPERB PERFORMANCE AS THE MAIN CHARACTER, AN UPPER-MIDDLE-CLASS GIRL NAMED JULIANNE. AND KIP PARDUE IS NOT SO BAD HIMSELF AS HER ON-SCREEN HUSBAND MITCH. AFTER THEIR WEDDING DAY THESE TWO YOUNG PEOPLE DECIDE TO SPEND 2 WEEKS ON A VERY PRIVATE, VERY SECLUDED LITTLE ISLAND THAT NOT MANY PEOPLE SEEM TO KNOW ABOUT. AFTER A WEEK OR SO ON THE ISLAND THINGS START TO CHANGE OR, RATHER, MITCH DOES. HE STARTS BECOMING VERY POSSESIVE OF JULIANNE AND VERY CONTROLLING. HE DECIDES THAT THEY WILL STAY ON THE ISLAND FOREVER. HE WON'T LET JULIANNE LEAVE EVER!! WELL SHE MAY BE AN UPPER-CLASS GIRL USED TO THE FINER THINGS IN LIFE BUT JULIANNE IS CERTAINLY NO FOOL. SHE VERY QUICKLY LEARNS TO DO WHAT SHE HAS TO DO IN ORDER TO MAKE HER ESCAPE. THIS REALLY IS A VERY SUSPENSEFUL, ON-THE-EDGE-OF-YOUR-SEAT TYPE OF THRILLER. IT IS MOST DEFINITELY WORTH A WATCH!! WATCH THIS MOVIE OBJECTIVELY AND I GUARANTEE YOU WILL NOT BE DISSAPOINTED! THIS MOVIE DELIVERS!!!!!

Summary: Best, and Inevitably, Forgotten
Review: This movie is standing on new release shelves in video stores right now, but soon it will fade away as it deserves and most rental places will only carry it if they had 7 copies earlier, hoping for people to rent it.

Telling the story of two newly-weds heading to an island in the middle of a lake for their honeymoon, "Devil's Pond" is ultimately stupid, pointless, and forgettable. The couple seems semi-happy at first, but as the husband Mitch demands to stay on the island longer than wife Jules wants to, she begins wondering whether or not she's a prisoner there, considering she can't swim.

It'll take until the end for the viewer to be sure how pointless and forgettable the movie is, but one can see the stupidity as it goes along. The tension between the two characters seems to be set off by nothing at all. Jules wonders about Mitch's lockbox and they make up... Then she wants to leave the island early and they both over-react. It culminates when the two weeks are up and he still won't go. It's all about his controlling of her and none of it seems to make any sense. The situation gets worse and worse, but you can't help caring less and less.

The acting is abominable. Maybe the movie's tired plot would have seemed better had the lead performances been better. These actors work best as supporting characters, or among a large cast. Instead, the entire movie is structured around their acting, since there is hardly anyone else in the movie, and though they try their best, it's a failure as a whole.

The DVD has some extras, but why worry about them? The movie's uninteresting; the extras aren't any better.

This movie has a feel akin to "Cold Creek Manor," but not in a good way. They share the feeling of "Where is this movie going?" through-out the first half. The trouble here is that the feeling doesn't disappear here until the last 10 minutes of the movie, at which point it's needless and predictable. There were chances for twists earlier; almost bordering the possibility of super-natural, but instead it's nothing but a young couple with an abusive husband. Pointless, forgettable, and it will be off video rental shelves soon enough, so few others may have to risk seeing it.

Summary: ~3.5 stars! Suspenseful!~
Review: This movie was set almost in one location the entire movie and that was at Devil's Pond. There are only two characters in the movie so I was surprised at how it kept my attention. At times it seems a little slow because you see the same location over and over again.
Tara Reid and Kip Pardue star in this suspenseful film about newlyweds on their honeymoon in a deserted cabin on an island surrounded by water.

Tara's character, Julianne can't swim and she is more of n upperclass girl that her husband Kip's character, Mitch.
They start out a very lovable couple but things turn ugly when Mitch turns completely jealous and starts acting all crazy.

He won't let her leave the island-EVER! Well I've said enough~ The film is worth watching. It is actually very interesting and I do not think it got the right amount of publicity it could have gotten.

The DVD extras are okay but could have been a little better. ANyways, this movie is worth a try! It may not be a big hit but it is suspenseful and exciting!
