Summary: A VERY scary movie!!
Review: This has to be one of the most effective horror movies in years. It involves a video that people die after watching, and I was sure I was going to die of fright before The Ring came to an end. The plot is somewhat one-dimensional, but the images will stay with you long after the closing credits. If horror films are of interest to you, don't miss this one!

Summary: Now this is Horror!
Review: "The Ring" is one of creepiest, scariest movies to come along in a long, long time, easily rivaling "Blair Witch" or "The Others." And that it generates its frights without being needlessly violent or gory makes it a refreshing entry in the genre. However, be warned that the film does contain some grotesque and disturbing imagery, and it's definitely too intense for young ones. The Ring" is rated PG-13 for scattered use of strong profanity, brief violence and brief gore, as well as several disturbing images. This is definately the only scary movie of 2002. Watch this one alone in the dark!

Summary: BEFORE YOU DIE YOU SEE THE RING!
Review: The Ring is a rather devious little film. It starts off like a your typical horror teen flick, two nubile young ladies are alone in the house for a sleepover. One tells the other about an urban legend: somewhere out there, she says, is a videotape that, once viewed, leaves you with only 7 days left to live. After you've seen the tape, the phone rings, she explains. It's a special message just for you, telling you that you have one week. Girl #2 tells Girl #1 that she has seen this tape. Her eyes fill with tears. And then the phone rings. From there on out, be prepared to cling to the edge of your seat, tense with suspense. Dang does it pull it off. This movie is very effective, and I think everyone should see this terrifying new horror flict. This is right under The Exorcist as scariest movie ever made! Watch it in the dark!

Summary: SCARY!
Review: I'm a big horror buff and I usually don't expect much from a horror film (I don't expect it to be MOVIE OF THE YEAR). They're just great entertainment to me, which is why I really like this one. It was scary and they did a good job making a, what seemed like a corny subject, turn out to be pretty interesting. I am definatly adding this DVD to my collection. But, if you take most films too seriously and expect Oscar performances from every film you see, don't bother with this one. IT'S ALL ABOUT THE ENTERTAINMENT! (that's my motto for life)

Summary: GREAT!
Review: Disturbing and shocking images, a creepy atmosphere, and a scary little girl make this one horror movie that you must see. Yes the Japanese version is slightly better, but it depends on which one you see first. The few people that weren't scared just didn't understand it. I've yet to meet someone who didn't think that this movie was scary. ALOT better than Fear Dot Com, Signs, and Ghost Ship, but nowhere near as scary as The Exorcist! So if you want to get really scared, get this a the superior The Exorcist and turn off the lights and get ready to be scared. Remember both movies are long, but they are worth viewing more than once. Don't listen to the 1 star reviewers.

Summary: Damn spine tingle...
Review: Positively the most terrifying movie I've ever seen. I"m really curious about the japanese version now, I want to see how much scarier it is. This one though...freaked me out unlike anything before. I used to watch horror movies when I was like 5...and they never made me this scared...I'm 21 now. My girlfriend and best friend could barely watch it. I at least payed attention because I wanted to solve the mystery. The girl dead in the closet scene was even more frightening than I would've anticipated...still freaks me out. I'm sure seeing it on the DVD will not be the same as the theater, all I know is after we saw it we HAD to go to the diner to find other friends because we didn't want to separate. 7 days later we went to see "Jackass" to ease the lingering worries! LOL. I especially loved how in the beginning, the scene with the 2 girls talking about an urban legend, and how they made you think it would be another "teen slasher" flick. The video...the images...it all gave me a sickly, shivering feeling. That Chevy Silverado commerical with the closeup of the horse's eye the following week didn't help much either! LOL. Done ranting now. See this movie...it rules. Definitely the best horror movie to come out in a long time.

Summary: Simply Boring (should be Zero Stars)
Review: The most pretentious unrealized boring films of the past ten years. See it on cable, so you can switch to another channel after the first ten minutes. Don't buy it.

Summary: Modern horror's finest hour...
Review: Let me start off by stating the fact that I am somewhat of a horror movie buff, I watch just about any horror movie that I come across and I own a horror movie collection that contains about 75 real gems of pure terror. With that being said , I must say that the only movie that has ever truly disturbed me while watching it would be Gore Verbinski's stunning remake of "The Ring". I found myself on the edge of my seat from the chilling opening scene right up until the mind bending conclusion.

This is in my humble opinion, the best horror film to be released in at least 10 years. Any analysis of the plot would reveal too many spoilers so I will only stsate that if you are a fan of cerebral horror and dont mind the fact that the story will not be spoon fed to you in the style of a slasher film, then do yourself a favor, turn off the lights, and watch "The Ring". Fans of the genre should not be disappointed.

Summary: I've seen both...
Review: I've seen both the American "Ring" and "Ringu", which I own and I enjoy both! "Ringu" is more subtle. The american version has more gotcha's in it. Comparing the two I can see why the americanized it. Some aspects of the original story just do not translate well, EX: predicting volcanic eruptions. The typical american would just not care about this as part of the story. Other than that difference as a major one, the rest are petty differences. The two movies are almost exact scene for scene in some instances. The American version does move the story along at a faster pace than the original does. Do see the Original version and then the American one and you will see the merits of both.

Summary: The Ring Rocks
Review: I'm not a very big horror movie fan. I hesitated to see this movie because of the countless times that I've been sorry for seeing a movie and it was horrible. But the Ring hits the spot. This has got to be the best horror movie I have seen. I saw it twice at the movies and I will for sure see it on DVD.
