Summary: Could be better but fell short too much
Review: Kinda bored and cliched. What? Martians or aliens who is afraid of water? Give me a break. The whole movie is like the house itself surrounded by cornfield, going nowhere, achieving nothing at all. Even without fun, only ridiculed itself gradually... Signs are like a big circle with nothing in it....

Summary: Are you people so blind?
Review: THIS IS NOT AN ALIEN MOVIE, maybe the trailer, which had nothing to do with Shamaylan, made you think so. Don't watch it as an alien movie, it's completely a movie about a fallen pastor struggling with his faith, and it's a good one too. It still has it's scary parts, maybe they won't leave you jumping through the roof, but the suspense will almost kill ya. I try to look at this movie as a religious battle, rather than one with extra terrestrials. Maybe it helps if you think of the aliens as demons, and they are driving this man's faith mad. I pity the foo who sais this isn't a good movie, cause they didn't watch it right. and the ending, omg..the ending..you gotta see it, shamaylan could not have paced it better, you sci-fi fruitcakes need to stop watchin this as an alien movie and open ur dang minds up.

Summary: SIGNS ABOUT NOTHING
Review: This short review among hundreds is probably meaningless. About as meaningless as this disappointing movie.

M. Night Shymalan has carved a niche for himself with pseudo-spiritual thrillers. Mel Gibson is fine as a widowed minister who lost his faith in God and finds his isolated farm and family surrounded by demonic aliens. Joaqin Phoenix is terrific as Gibson's brother but the story sidesteps the tantalizing theological implications of the set-up and settles for being a remake of Hitchcock's The Birds.

Too bad M. Night didn't make this a real showdown between demons and a disaffected minister. Now there's a movie.

Summary: I think everyone misses the point of this film...
Review: Okay, yes this movie does make you wonder:

Why would the aliens use crop circles while navigating, when they have all that technology?

Why would the aliens use no weapons at all while invading?

Why would they leave their lights on at night, but hide themselves in the day?

Why does water kill them?

How come the aliens can't break through wooden doors?

Put it all behind you buddy! This movie has nothing to do with aliens! It really doesn't. It is about faith in god. it's about things are meant to happen. It wasn't supposed to be like Independence Day! Nor Night of the Living Dead. Just a movie. A great movie, that makes you think, while scaring you, and making you laugh. M. Night Shamylan is a great director, and all you that thinks Signs [is bad], are missing the point, go watch Alien, or Independence Day if you want to see a more action packed alien type movies, but requires no intelligence.

Summary: makes you jump!!
Review: My new favorite sci-fi epoch is now signs. The movie is great, and I guess you could say a little spooky. The movie stars Mel Gibson who does a gret job being serious, but funny in a few parts. The movie is based around crop circles appearing and everyone being mystified by their return after 25 years. A first they think its just a pesky neighbor until things start to happen... quite suspensful. Then they snap....they board up the doors and windows and.. wel...I am not going to give it away, but I will tell you it is cool!! It all connects to the signs... Five star movie!!! GOTTA SEE IT!!

Summary: Good for an alien movie
Review: Not the best, but completely interesting. I'd like to see the people who commented on it being unimaginative even come up with a story at all.

Summary: The Corn Field "Signs" Originally read: Don't Buy This DVD
Review: Signs is a weak B movie dressed up to look like a big budget horror movie. But the only thing that's big budget about this film is its soundtrack and stars. And that's what's so disappointing about Signs, all of the actors are good and put in nice performances, but they have absolutely no story to work with.

Signs borrows heavily from two genre-defining horror films: Night of the Living Dead and the Exorcist. It borrows its location, suspenseful moments and narrative devices from Night of the Living Dead: the cast boards itself into a farm house, is assaulted by horrible enemies with its only link to the outside world being the television. It borrows its main theme from the Exorcist as Mel Gibson struggles, and regains his faith confronting his assailants.

The first "signs" of trouble are the news broadcast detailing the alien invasion - they are so poorly acted and executed - you'll think high school students filmed them. The first broadcast is so out of place with the professional delivery of the main cast, that the viewer is immediately put on notice that corners were cut making the film - and the whole show loses credibility from that point on.

Then they make the worst mistake ever - actually showing one of the aliens for the first time in a news broadcast - robbing the film of the opportunity to have the fine cast shape this important moment, as is done in almost every horror film.

Summary: Just Awful
Review: I heard alot of hype about this movie and really wanted to see it. I was really disappointed. First of this movie has no plot and is hard to sit threw and the director/producer uses alot of of old hollywood cliches.Secondly take V,independence day, war of the worlds and just for go measure a bit of wizard of oz at the end and you have "SIGNS".

Summary: Spooky Winnie
Review: This movie is awesome and one worth seeing. I feel it is based more around a family's tragedy though. If you want to see a movie with a ton of aliens running all over the whole length of the movie you won't. It is suspenseful though and keeps you on the edge of your seat at points. Don't miss out on this!
