Summary: Memento will leave you thinking . . . and wondering
Review: Memento is one of those films that stays with the viewer--you'll wonder about the characters and the plot and you'll want to discuss them with others who've seen the film . . . and then you'll want to do it again. It's a thinking person's film.

Summary: First-Rate
Review: This is a first-rate movie, whose excellence is mainly due to its razor-sharp screenplay. It kept me intrigued all the way through. I think Guy Pearce, if he lucks into some big hits, will be the next Steve McQueen. He has that great, American taciturn charisma McQueen had. Believe it or not, I predicted what the ending would be. What people SAID "Pulp Fiction" was, but wasn't (I didn't like that film) "Memento" is.

Summary: .1002 fo eivom ees-tsum tsrif eht si otnemeM
Review: Memento, to put it simply, is astonishing. It is a complex tale ingeniously structured in a way that leaves audiences stunned at the film's climax, as opposed to feeling let down like most of the current crop of films has. Memento is ripe with characters who are intentionally clouded from the viewer; to understand them too early would ruin the effect of the film. However, piece by piece, as events unravel, the characters become more mysterious, which adds a depth of suspense to a film that already has the viewer guessing. In modern terms, Memento is comparable to The Usual Suspects, or perhaps Seven, but it works on levels that neither one of the other two can achieve. It is a modern-day masterpiece, and a film that belongs in everyone's collection.

Summary: WOW!
Review: This movie was amazing. Normally when I go to a movie I expect to see sword fights or for me to crack a rib laughing. This movie was an exception.

I had nothing to do one Sunday night so strolled over to the theater to see what was playing. Memento didn't sound too apealing at first, but I had heard that it had good reveiws. Reluctantly, I bought a ticket and sat down in a sticky seat. When the movie started with a guy shooting someone in the head backwards, I was riveted. This hinted that the entire movie was played backwards. And it was, portion by portion about someone whe lost his ability to create new memory(Lenny). The reason that it was backwards made a lot of sence. With it backwards, you can experience it like Lenny does, having no idea what-so-ever this guy just walked out of. If this review would let me do six stars I would give it.

Review: what can be said, i went to see this film, and left the cinema content that i had seen a truly original film. well done to all involved. warning to the viewer though, if you spill your popcorn, don't lean down to pick it up, or you'll be lost. so pay attention.

Summary: Genius filmmaking.
Review: All that should be said about this movie has been said in these reviews, so i will use this space to gush a bit- this is the kind of film that movie lovers dream about, something original, intellingent, brilliantly acted and it leaves you thinking about it for days, even weeks after. the 'big twist' at the end of the sixth sense? it happens every 10 minutes or so in memento. because of its unique structure, seeing memento for a second or even third time is just as rewarding as the first. i cannot sing the praises of this movie enough- if you missed it in the theatres, catch it on video. multiple times.

Summary: Some Memories Are Best Forgotten
Review: Wow. This is one amazing movie. A huge hit at this year's Sundance Festival, Christopher Nolan's Memento is an innovative, intricate, original, challenging and immensely entertaining brain-twister. Oh, did I mention this movie is in a reverse chronological order? This is a wild rollercoaster ride of a movie that you have never experienced, and will never be able to forget.

The complex story keeps you on your toes at all times, and whenever you feel like you are beginning to get a handle on what's going on, it hits you with yet another plot twist and leaves with even more questions. And the genius of it all is that Nolan never gives you definite answers -- everything is up to your interpretation. Memento is a movie you won't be able to stop talking about for a long while.

A few random notes:

1. Guy Pearce is one of the most underrated actors.

2. Carrie-Anne Moss is hot! ...even without her Matrix-PVC outfits.

3. Joe Pantoliano always !makes a good villain. (But is he really the villain?)

4. The official website (otnemem.com) kicks butt.

Summary: ...the mind is a terrible thing to waste
Review: And I wasted two hours. This flick was okay. There's nothing innovative here, just playful editing and flashbacking. Because of that, the story never develops a much needed intensity. Everyone sleepwalks thru their roles. It's all like a bad dream. Joe Pantolonio grates.

You want something with a bite, go see Snatch. Again.
