Summary: Starts off Killer ---- Ends with a whimper
Review: The DVD of ALICE SWEET ALICE is a decent presentation, but the print used is not one of the best. Many scenes have vertical scratch marks that sometimes last for over a minute and occur in some crucial scenes. The image itself is also not the sharpest, but it is satisfactory. Other than that, the DVD doesn't include a trailer, but instead has the alternate opening "Communion" credit sequence (the same as the ASA opening except for the title). Commentary track by director Sole is quite interesting, however.

The movie itself is a stylish little horror-mystery which is somewhat reminiscent of "Don't Look Now". Unfortunately, it starts off way better than it ends. The first hour is pretty excellent and full of thrills and twists....but as soon as the murderer is revealed, the movie really loses it. The final 30-40 minutes are very average and really hampered my opinion of this film. It's too bad, because it could have really been a great little horror film. As it is, it's still worth seeing and definitely NOT a waste of time, but if you want something as good as "Don't Look Now"...don't look here!

Summary: Pretty freaky for the 1970's!
Review: The people in it were so scary, just like Children of the Corn. Good performances by the cast and it kept me in suspense until the last bloodbath. Pretty good cult classic!!!

Summary: Effective chiller!
Review: This is a suspenseful chiller in which a young girl may or may not be responsible for the murder of her younger sister (played by a very young Brooke Shields) and other aggravated mayhem. Alfred Sole directs with great style and creates some vivid imagery. The cast hams it up quite a bit but it all seems to work with the material. Paula Sheppard is particularly effective as Alice. She has wonderfully expressive eyes and manages to exude both pity and weirdness. Although the character of Alice is only 12 years old, Sheppard was 19 at the time the film was shot. The film has a couple of loop holes in it's script with supernatural references that are never fully explored. Having said that, this film joins other low budget horror films of the 60's and 70's (Dementia 13, Halloween, Carnival Of Souls, Texas Chainsaw Massacre) that showed how imagination and creativity produced quality products rather than the size of the budget. Sidebar: The DVD version of this film contains some really fascinating commentary by Alfred Sole as well as two other crew members. It's chock full of intresting anecdotes.

Summary: "Lots of horrifying and ugly people in this one!"
Review: This is one of the only movies I've ever watched directly twice in a row. This was mostly because it was great and written very well. I don't want to say too much and give the story away, but I just love movies that have big unexpected twists in them! This movie is horrifying a lot of the time because the people are very unattractive. For example, in the last scene in the church, see if you can catch a shot of the lady with the big purple face. She sure scared me! I highly recommend this movie to those who are freaked out by the non-important characters, like the big purple-faced lady!!!

Summary: Why isn't Alfred Sole directing now?
Review: This is one of those movies that gets under your skin and after its over makes you wonder why more movies like this havent been made. Without giving too much away, this chilling movie is about linda miller and her family being stalked by a killer. and after several of them are killed it just may well be one of their family being the killer!Linda miller, and paula sheppherd especially did a great job and that creepy music you cant get out of your head. i have watched this several times and like it better each time i watch it. each time you watch it you also notice several things you didnt notice before. and if you watch closely you can catch who the killer is. Recommended highly! i read somewhere that they are making Alice Sweet Alice 2. i hope its as good as this!

Summary: Fairly Disappointing....
Review: Well, I added this movie to my wish list a few months ago because it seemed to be getting fairly good reviews from people on here...Good thing I added it to my wish list and not shopping cart that day because it wasn't really worth the four bucks I put down for it when I found it in the pawn shop here. The acting sucked, the huge fat landlord guy was a nasty guy in lots of ways (trying to get some from a kid, lets be serious here; thats a horror movie in itself...nasty). But overall the movie is too predictable...until the 'shocking' plot twist when you find out who the real killer is, then the natural reaction is pretty much "what the hell did I just miss?" In my opinion, don't do more than read the reviews on here. If you want a fairly good movie along the same lines...sorta...try to rent Session 9 first. I thought it was alot better, but that might just be my opinion, so RENT it dont buy it.

Summary: An odd thriller but Masterful Directed.
Review: When a young beautiful but oddly disturbing (Paula E. Sheppard) might be the murderer, who has killed her sister (Brooke Shieds) in a communion from inside the Church. Then more deaths appear and The Detectives and People that know Alice is always think is her or there`s someone out-there for Revenge.

DVD`s has an good non-anamorphic Widescreen (1.66:1) transfer and an OK Dolby Digital 1.0 Mono Sound. An running commentary track by Director:Alfred Sole and Editor:M.Edward Salier and a few more extras. This is a Interesting Suspense-Thriller, which is not for everyone to see. Grade:A-.

Summary: Sweet
Review: When I read reviews of this movie, I was greeted by two stars, which basically told me to skip it. However, I was curious, and I'm glad I bought it. It is a chilling movie, which is very well-acted. I still don't fully understand all that happened. It was kind of confusing. But that just made it unpredictable. I had a strange feeling of deja-vu when watching this. I don't know why. It wasn't because it was cliche. I felt as if I had seen it before though if I did it must have been when I was real little. That just added to the creepiness for me. Anyway, I would suggest this movie to those who are a fan of the horror movie genre. Critics tend not to like it very much, but it seems as if general viewers often find it chilling.

Summary: one of my favorites
Review: When I was about 14 I saw this on tv I was fascinated by it. I later bought it on video and had to keep it hidden under my bed covered with clothes so it couldn't get me. The years have past and I watch it 2 or 3 times a year I think it's a brilliant psychological thriller. If they made a poster for it I'd hang it up in my room .
